5 EsyMP Network Projection Fetures 5 You cn use EsyMP Network Projection softwre to project imges from your computer to the projector over network. Shring the projector over network llows you to project imges from different computers without hving to chnge cble connections, s well s project imges from remote loction. 6 Disply Options 6 You cn use vriety of disply options for projecting imges. 8 Connection Modes 8 You cn use the following methods to connect computer to projector over network by using EsyMP Network Projection. "Introduction to EsyMP Network Projection" p.4 "Quick Connection Mode" p.8 "Advnced Connection Mode" p.8 Advnced Connection Mode You cn connect the projector nd the computer using n existing network system. To use Advnced Connection Mode, you need to connect the projector to n ccess point or to network hub. Quick Connection Mode You cn connect the projector nd the computer directly using wireless communiction. This llows you to project the computer screen without mking ny complicted network settings. Quick Connection Mode is only vilble when you instll the wireless LAN unit on the projector. 9 Setting Up EsyMP Network Projection for the First Time Follow these instructions before connecting computer to the projector over network. "Instlling the Softwre" p.10 "Setting Up the Projector" p.12

10 Instlling the Softwre 10 Instll EsyMP Network Projection from the EPSON Projector Softwre CD-ROM supplied with your projector. If the lnguge selected for the instlltion differs from the lnguge of the operting system being used, the screens my not be displyed correctly. You cn downlod the ltest version of EsyMP Network Projection from the EPSON Web site. If previous version of EsyMP Network Projection is lredy instlled on your computer, uninstll it first nd then instll EsyMP Network Projection. Opertion is not gurnteed for Mc OS X becuse the Firewll settings re not set correctly when the version is updted. You need dministrtor uthority to instll the softwre. b c d e Turn on your computer. Mke sure ll running pplictions re closed. Insert the EPSON Projector Softwre CD-ROM into the computer. The instller strts utomticlly. If the instller does not strt utomticlly, open the CD-ROM drive from My Computer (or Computer), nd then double-click InstllNvi.exe or EMP_NSCInst.exe. Follow the on-screen instructions to instll. Instlling EsyMP Network Projection (Mc OS X) Instll EsyMP Network Projection on your computer. b c d e Turn on your computer. Mke sure ll running pplictions re closed. Insert the EPSON Projector Softwre CD-ROM into the computer. Double-click the EMP_NPInstller.mpkg icon in the EPSON window. Instlltion strts. 12 Setting Up the Projector 12 Follow these instructions to select connection method between computer nd the projector, nd then set up the projector. Connection Methods for Vrious Network Environments You cn choose connection mode to suit your network environment. Check how the projector is connected to the network system (wireless or wired) nd the communiction pth from the computer to the projector. Depending on your projector, some connection methods my not be vilble. See the User's Guide supplied with the projector for more detils. To connect the projector to the computer using wireless network system: Use Advnced Connection Mode.

13 Setting Up the Projector 13 To connect the projector to the computer using wired network system: Use Advnced Connection Mode. b c d e Select the necessry settings to connect your computer to wireless LAN. See the documenttion supplied with your computer for more detils. Instll the wireless LAN unit in the projector, if necessry. See the User's Guide supplied with the projector for more detils. Turn on the projector. Press the [Menu] button on the remote control or the control pnel, select the Network menu, nd select Network Configurtion. Select Wireless LAN. A screen like one of the following is displyed. 14 Setting Up the Projector 14 j When you hve finished mking settings, select Setup Complete or Complete nd follow the on-screen instructions to sve your settings nd exit the menus. f Select Wireless LAN. A screen like one of the following is displyed. 15 Setting Up the Projector 15 Setting Up Projector to Connect in Advnced Connection Mode (Wired) To connect computer to the projector using wired LAN, you need to select network settings on the computer nd the projector. b c d e f Contct your network dministrtor nd check tht DHCP is vilble under the current network environment. If DHCP is not vilble, write down the following vlues tht re vilble for your projector. IP Address Subnet Msk Gtewy Address Connect the computer to the network. To set up network connection, if necessry, see the documenttion supplied with your computer or network dpter. Connect LAN cble to the projector. Turn on the projector. Press the [Menu] button on the remote control or the control pnel, select the Network menu, nd select Network Configurtion. Select Wired LAN. A screen like one of the following is displyed. g h Select IP settings s necessry. DHCP is vilble: Set DHCP to On. DHCP is not vilble: Set DHCP to Off nd enter the projector's IP Address, Subnet Msk, nd Gtewy Address vlues s necessry. When you hve finished mking settings, select Setup Complete or Complete, nd follow the on-screen instructions to sve your settings nd exit the menus. 16 Connecting to the Projector nd Projecting Imges Follow these instructions to connect the computer nd the projector over network, nd to project imges from your computer's screen using the projector. Mke sure you hve lredy set up EsyMP Network Projection nd selected connection mode for the projector. 17 Connection Methods 17 You cn select suitble method to connect the computer nd the projector over network depending on your network environment. "Connecting to the Projector nd Projecting Imges" p.16 "Connecting the Projector nd Computer Directly Using Wireless Communiction" p.17 "Connecting the Projector nd Computer over Network System (Wireless)" p.19 "Connecting the Projector nd Computer over Network System (Wired)" p.20 Connecting the Projector nd Computer Directly Using Wireless Communiction When your projector is set up s indicted below, you cn connect the projector nd computer directly using wireless communiction to project the computer's screen. The wireless LAN unit is instlled in the projector. The projector's connection method is set to Quick. When you connect the projector nd computer directly using wireless communiction, the connection between the computer nd n ccess point is disconnected. Mke sure you turn on your computer's wireless communiction function. b c Strt EsyMP Network Projection. EB Windows XP, Windows Vist, nd Windows 7: Click Strt, select Progrms (or All Progrms), EPSON Projector, EsyMP Network Projection, nd then click EsyMP Network Projection Ver.X.XX. Windows 8: Select Serch on the Chrms, nd then select EsyMP Network Projection Ver.X.XX. Mc OS X: Double-click EsyMP Network Projection from the Applictions folder. Select Quick Connection Mode, nd then click OK. Press the [LAN] button on the remote control. The LAN stndby screen is projected.

18 Connection Methods 18 Windows Vist, Windows 7, nd Windows 8: Enter the keyword displyed on the LAN stndby screen, nd then click OK. When the following dilog box is displyed, enter the pssphrse set on the projector, nd then click Connect. The projector serch results re displyed. d e f If the projector you wnt to connect to is not displyed in the serch results, serch for it using one of the following methods. Automtic Serch: Serches for the projector utomticlly. Mnul Serch: Serches for the projector bsed on the SSID selected from list. Profile: Serches for the projector bsed on previously sved profile. Select the projector you wnt to connect to, nd then click Connect. When Projector Keyword is set to On from the projector, the keyword entry screen is displyed. Enter the projector keyword nd pssphrse. Windows XP nd Mc OS X: Enter the keyword displyed on the LAN stndby screen, nd then click OK. If you select Sve the pssphrse nd don't show this dilog box gin, the projector's SSID nd pssphrse re sved on the computer nd this dilog box is not displyed the next time you connect. You do not hve to enter the pssphrse gin. If the projector's pssphrse hs not been chnged from the defult, the following dilog box is displyed. Chnge the pssphrse from the projector's Network menu. When connection is estblished, the computer screen is projected. The following EsyMP Network Projection toolbr is displyed on the computer screen.

If the input source does not utomticlly switch to the LAN source, press the [LAN] button. 23 Selecting the Projector Serch Method 23 You cn select suitble method to serch for projector depending on the sttus or loction of the projector you wnt to connect to. "Connecting to the Projector nd Projecting Imges" p.16 "Serch Methods" p.23 "Serching for Network Projectors Automticlly" p.23 "Serching for Network Projectors by Specifying n SSID, IP Address, or Projector Nme" p.24 "Serching for Network Projectors Using Profile" p.25 Serch Methods You cn use one of the following methods to serch for the projector you wnt to connect to. Choose the best method depending on your environment. Serching for Network Projectors Automticlly You cn utomticlly serch for vilble projectors on the network. Serch results differ depending on the connection mode you use. Quick Connection Mode: Displys the SSID for vilble projectors. Advnced Connection Mode: Displys vilble projectors on the network. Serches re performed only on the sme subnet. Projectors on different subnets re not displyed in the serch results. Serching for Network Projectors by Specifying n SSID, IP Address, or Projector Nme If the projector you wnt to connect to is not found utomticlly, you cn serch for the trget projector by specifying the SSID, IP ddress, or projector nme. By using Advnced Connection Mode, you cn serch for projectors t remote loctions on different subnet. Serching for Network Projectors Using Profile You cn sve network projector informtion s profile, nd then specify the profile to serch for the sme projector insted of providing projector detils ech time you serch. By creting group of profiles for ech plce where projector is setup nd mnging them with folders, the trget projector cn be found quickly. "Selecting the Projector Serch Method" p.23 Serching for Network Projectors Automticlly You cn utomticlly serch for vilble projectors on the network, nd then project imges by simply selecting the projector. Click Automtic serch on the serch nd connect screen. The serch tkes bout 30 seconds. The serch results re displyed. If you cnnot find ny projectors, try one of the other serch methods.

Quick Connection Mode: Select the SSID for the projector you wnt to connect to from the list. Serching for Network Projectors by Specifying n SSID, IP Address, or Projector Nme If the projector you wnt to connect to is not found utomticlly, you cn serch for the trget projector by specifying the relevnt detils. In Quick Connection Mode, you cn serch for the projector by using n SSID. In Advnced Connection Mode, you cn serch for projector by using n IP ddress or projector nme. Click Mnul serch on the following screen. Advnced Connection Mode: Enter the IP ddress or the projector nme for the projector you wnt to connect to. The serch results re displyed. 25 Selecting the Projector Serch Method 25 Serching for Network Projectors Using Profile You cn sve network projector informtion s profile, nd then serch for the sme projector using the profile insted of specifying the projector detils ech time.
