Deplying Lngitudev4.wsp against all cntent web applicatins is nt sufficient. The Lngitude preview fr dcument libraries feature is turn ff at the web applicatin level after upgrading t v Yu must access the SharePint Central Administratin site and turn the feature back n fr the web applicatin t reactivate the feature. The settings at the site cllectin and site levels are preserved Lngitude v4.1 (build ) New End-User Features: Supprt fr dcument preview straight frm dcument libraries n SharePint This feature is disabled by default and must be turned n fr the web applicatins and site cllectins. Please refer t the cnfiguratin dcument fr instructins. New file frmats supprted fr preview: s (msg, eml) images with extensins jpg, gif, png, bmp, tiff. Only supprted fr sharepint envirnment running n Windws 2008 and up. htm/html. Lngitude nly supprts basic html dcuments cntaining mstly text. Images and CSS resurces are nt supprted when generating previews OCR supprt fr PDF and TIFF. Preview has the fllwing new features: My Wrkspace Ratings & reviews Imprved Infrastructure supprt and administratin Supprt fr multiple lngitude preview databases fr increased scalability. This prvides imprved scalability/perfrmance and better backup/restre prcedures (small database size) 3

4 Supprt fr multiple SharePint prperty databases (SPS 2010 nly). The prperty database must reside n the same SQL Server. Supprt fr multiple FAST and SharePint 2010 indexers. 5 Fixed a bug causing imprper cnfiguratin after remving Imprt Server frm Lngitude farm. LngitudeSharePint_x64.msi installer issue fixed. Installer failed n SharePint 2010 envirnments upgraded frm SharePint Viewer nw prperly displays images within previewed dcuments. Fixed a bug that caused Excel spreadsheets t be rendered imprperly. Issue reslved with dcuments nt being cllected fr preview cnversin by Lngitude in FAST envirnment. Fixed an issue with dcuments failing t cnvert with the fllwing errr: Cnversin timeut exceeded. Knwn issues: Image preview is nt supprted n SharePint farms running n tp f Windws Server Yur farm must run n tp f Windws 2008 r 2008R2 TIFF files with multiple pages are nt cr-ed prperly. Hit highlighting n scanned dcument may nt always verlap the text highlighted Parametric search des nt wrk with multiple prperty databases. Updated imprt rules are nt applied t already prcessed dcuments. Yu must perfrm a full crawl. Scanned PDFs using JBig2 r CCITTFax4 image frmats are currently nt supprted. Lngitude nw requires Silverlight v4 Exprt t Zip frm My Wrkspace des nt handle internatinal file name crrectly. This is a limitatin f the zip frmat which des nt supprt Unicde. Lngitude v4.0 (build ) New Features: Silverlight Preview Engine. Our previews are nw based n Silverlight rather than SVG. Our viewer nw ffers mre ptins (search inside, brwse zip cntent) as well as a framewrk t add yur wn actins (see cnfiguratin dcument). Our viewer requires Silverlight v4. Supprt fr SharePint 2010, Search Server 2010 and Fast Search fr SharePint 2010 Imprved database design fr better scalability and backup/restre prcedures Supprt fr IE7, IE8, Firefx v3.5 and abve. 6 Preview may fail fr sme RTF dcuments with tables Sme ptins fr Scanned PDFs are nt fully supprted, resulting in the previews fr these dcuments t be unusable (the preview is essentially a large black square) Search Server 2008 supprt requires manual steps during install. This is due t sme unusual Url Handling depending n the versin installed. A wrkarund is available t crrect this issue. Invalid image psitining fr preview f MS Office dcuments. This happens when the images are psitined abslutely cmpared t the page rather than inline within the dcument. This is a currently limitatin f ur prduct. Lngitude v4.1 t be released Nv 1 st will prvide imprvements there. We will cntinue t imprve the rendering engine ver time. 6
