2 Intrductin This dcument utlines the pre-requisites fr installatin f the Repstr custdian server cmpnents. There are tw main parts; SharePint Server general cnfiguratin fr add-in supprt Web server cnfiguratin in preparatin fr installatin f Repstr custdian The frmer cnfiguratin fr add-in supprt may already be at least partially cmpleted if there are ther apps already installed t the envirnment. Nte: SharePint Add-In is the new name fr SharePint App. Parts f the SharePint UI and dcumentatin still refer t apps; this dcument will use the newer term Add-In. Summary Belw is a summary f the sftware pre-requisites; - SharePint 2013 r abve; cnfigured fr add-in supprt (steps t cmplete are included in this dcument) March 2016 Cumulative Update SharePint 2013 Wrkflw Manager (see ptinal if wrkflw is nt required - A server t hst the Repstr Custdian web applicatin; Hardware t meet the minimum hardware requirements utlined belw Windws Server 2012 r abve with MSMQ and Web Deply installed IIS 8 r abve, Windws Authenticatin, ASP.Net 4.5.2,.NET DNS cnfiguratin fr a hst name t pint t the custdian web applicatin (e.g. with a valid SSL certificate Hardware requirements The fllwing frmula can be used t calculate the hardware requirements: RAM (in GB): (#users / 100) with a minimum f 2GB. Number f CPU cres: (#users / 250) with a minimum f 2 Disk: 10GB disk space The abve calculatins assume that the server is als hsting a prvisining engine service. On-Premise pre-requisites 2

3 Fr envirnments with less than 10 users, it may be acceptable t use a SharePint web frnt end server fr installatin f Repstr custdian. On-Premise pre-requisites 3

4 Client-side sftware requirements The custdian web interface is supprted n the fllwing brwsers: - Micrsft Internet Explrer: custdian supprt matches Micrsft supprt fr Internet Exprer which can be viewed here: - Edge: latest tw majr versins - Chrme: latest tw majr versins - Safari: latest tw majr versins - Firefx: latest tw majr versins On-Premise pre-requisites 4

5 SharePint Server Cnfiguratin fr add-in supprt SharePint 2013 and abve supprt add-ins which are entirely distinct frm traditinal SharePint Slutins. Hwever, a SharePint envirnment requires a few manual cnfiguratin steps t be perfrmed befre it is ready fr the installatin f an Add-In. This nly needs t be perfrmed nce in each envirnment. The Micrsft dcumentatin fr these steps is available here: Hwever, this dcumentatin will prvide a mre cncise versin f thse steps. Cnfiguratin f app dmain A dmain must be cnfigured under which SharePint will hst add-in Webs. This shuld nt be cnfused with the dmain which needs t be cnfigured fr hsting the Repstr custdian web applicatin in later steps. 1. Decide n a SharePint apps dmain name. This is nrmally f the frm addinsmycmpany.cm. It culd be a subdmain e.g. apps.mycmpany.cm but this is nt recmmended 2. Create a wildcard alias (CNAME) recrd such that *.addins-mycmpany.cm => sharepint.mycmpany.cm This will mean that SharePint-generated addresses such as: will reslve t yur SharePint server. 6 Cnfigure Service Applicatins Add-ins rely n the App Management and Micrsft SharePint Fundatin Subscriptin Settings service applicatins. Yu must be a Farm Administratr t perfrm this step. Start Services In Central Admin, select System Settings -> Manage services n server. Start the Subscriptin Settings and App Management services: Create Service Applicatins The App Management Service Applicatin and Subscriptin Settings Service Applicatin must nw be created. This can be dne either via PwerShell cmmands, r Central Administratin. Instructins fr creating these service applicatins can be fund here. On-Premise pre-requisites 6

7 Cnfigure Add-In URLs In this step, yu cnfigure Central Admin with the Add-In wildcard URL yu cnfigured earlier. In Central Administratin, click Apps, then Cnfigure App URLs. In the App Dmain bx, enter the URL yu created earlier eg. addins-mycmpany.cm. Fr the App prefix, enter apps. T fully apply these changes, stp the SharePint Timer service, restart the Wrld Wide Web publishing service, and start the SharePint Timer service again. On-Premise pre-requisites 7

8 Create an Add-in Catalg site This is the SharePint site cllectin which will act as a directry fr yur add-ins. In Central Admin, click Apps -> App management -> Manage App Catalg. Select a Web Applicatin fr which yu want t create a catalg. Select Create a new app catalg site, then OK. Fllw the instructins t create the site. 9 Repstr Custdian web server pre-cnfiguratin IIS The web server n which Repstr custdian will be installed shuld have IIS8 with ASP.Net 4.5: G t server manager, click add rles and features In the rles sectin chse: Web Server Under Applicatin Develpment chse.net Extensibility 4.5, ASP.NET 4.5, bth ISAPI entries In the features sectin chse:.net 4.5, ASP.NET 4.5 In the web server sectin chse: Web Server (all), Management Tls (IIS Management Cnsle and Management Service), Windws Authenticatin Click Install t start installatin. MSMQ shuld be enabled: Launch Server Manager. Navigate t Manage > Add Rles and Features. Click Next in the Befre Yu Begin screen. Select Rle-based r feature-based installatin and click Next. Select the server where t install the feature and click Next. D nt select any server rles. Click Next. In Features, expand Message Queuing > Message Queuing Services and select Message Queuing Server. Cntinue running the wizard adding any ther rles required by MSMQ (if applicable). Click Install t start installatin. Web Deply Install Web Deply frm the fllwing website: DNS and SSL At this pint yu shuld cnfigure yur DNS settings such that the desired custdian web server URL e.g. custdian.mycmpany.cm reslves t this web server. Additinally, a valid SSL certificate shuld be made available fr the URL. On-Premise pre-requisites 9

10 Untrusted certificates will wrk fr dem purpses, but the certificate must be trusted by client machines t fully use the Repstr utlk client sftware. Client-side cnfiguratin T allw windws integrated authenticatin, the custdian website (e.g. custdian.mycmpany.cm) shuld be added t the Intranet zne n client machines. On-Premise pre-requisites 10
