Hardware AvePint is cmmitted t maintaining a hardware agnstic platfrm t ensure that DcAve perates n cmmn Windws file sharing and virtualizatin platfrms. T ensure that DcAve is hardware agnstic, AvePint tests hardware that is intended t supprt SharePint and DcAve infrastructure, strage targets, and hardware-based backup and recvery slutins, as supprted by AvePint s partnerships. AvePint directly integrates with the fllwing platfrms: any Net Share, FTP, Amazn S3, AT&T Synaptic, Bx, Caring Strage, Cleversafe, DELL DX Strage, Drpbx, EMC Atms, EMC Centera, Ggle Drive, HDS Hitachi Cntent Platfrm, IBM Spectrum Scale Object, IBM Strwize Family, Micrsft Azure Strage, NetApp Data ONTAP, NFS, OneDrive, Rackspace Clud Files, and TSM. 10 Backup and Recvery DcAve supprts BLOB backup strage accrding t the list f hardware platfrms abve. BLOB snapsht functin, hwever, is currently nly supprted n OEM versins and NetApp hardware. DcAve supprts SQL cntent and Applicatin database backups via the SharePint Vlume Shadw Cpy Service (VSS) n all Windws and SQL server platfrms listed abve. DcAve als supprts snapsht-based SharePint VSS n all hardware listed abve where the hardware partner has certified supprt with Micrsft. DcAve supprts applicatin and cnfiguratin server backups fr all the supprted sftware envirnments listed abve. Cnfiguratin In rder t use Cntent Manager, the DcAve 6 platfrm must be installed and cnfigured prperly n yur farm. Required Permissins T install and use Cntent Manager prperly, ensure that the fllwing permissins are met. Cntent Manager fr SharePint On-Premises Befre using Cntent Manager fr SharePint n-premises, ensure that the DcAve Agent accunt has the fllwing permissins: 1. Lcal System Permissins: These permissins are autmatically cnfigured by DcAve during installatin. Refer t Lcal System Permissins fr a list f the permissins autmatically cnfigured upn installatin. If there are n strict limitatins n the permissins, yu can simply add the DcAve Agent accunt t the lcal Administratrs grup t apply all f the required permissins. 2. SharePint Permissins: These permissins must be manually cnfigured prir t using DcAve 6 Cntent Manager; they are nt autmatically cnfigured. User is a member f the Farm Administratrs grup. Since administratr wrks acrss farms and n all SharePint settings and cnfiguratins, this accunt is needed in rder t prvide the mst cmplete quality f service. The Add and Custmize Pages permissin* *Nte: T cpy/mve SharePint Online bjects, the Add and Custmize Pages permissin is required. Users with the rle f SharePint Administratr r Site Cllectin Administratr have the Add and Custmize Pages permissin, but yu must select Allw users t run custm script n persnal sites and Allw users t run custm script n self-service created sites in SharePint admin center > settings > Custm Script t enable the permissin t these users. Nte that the changes will take effect 24 hurs after being set. Health Analyzer AvePint recmmends using Health Analyzer t check the prerequisites yu need t crrectly use DcAve Cntent Manager. *Nte: Only the users in the DcAve Administratrs grup can use Health Analyzer. *Nte: Fr the rule Agent Accunt Cannt be SharePint System Accunt, yu can ignre the result f this rule if yu are nt ging t deply apps n the specific Web applicatins. 17 Getting Started Refer t the sectins belw fr imprtant infrmatin n getting started with Cntent Manager. *Nte: When lgging int DcAve Manager and perating the Cntent Manager mdule using the users in the System grups, the users can nly perate the: Farms t which it has permissin. Functins t which it has permissin. DcAve bjects (such as, plans, jbs, registered SharePint sites, and s n) t which it has permissin. Administratrs r the users in the System grups can grant different permissin levels t different farms. Fr mre infrmatin n permissin cntrl f users in the System grup, refer t the Cntrl Panel Reference Guide. Launching Cntent Manager T launch Cntent Manager and access its functinality, cmplete the fllwing steps: 1. Click the DcAve tab t display all prduct suites fr DcAve Click Administratin t access the Administratin mdules. 3. Click Cntent Manager t launch this mdule. Figure 1: DcAve mdule launch windw. 18 Navigating DcAve DcAve mimics the lk and feel f many Windws prducts, making fr an intuitive and familiar wrking envirnment. While there are many windws, pp-up displays, and messages within DcAve prducts, they share similar features and are navigated in the same ways. Belw is a sample windw in DcAve. It features a familiar, dynamic ribbn, and a searchable, cntent list view. Figure 2: Navigating DcAve. 1. Ribbn Tabs Allws users t navigate t the DcAve Welcme page and within the active mdule. 2. Ribbn Panes Allws users t access the functinality f the active DcAve mdule. 3. Manage clumns ( ) Allws users t manage which clumns are displayed in the list. Click the manage clumns ( ) buttn, and then select the checkbx next t the clumn name in the drp-dwn list. 4. Filter the clumn ( ) Allws users t filter the infrmatin in the List View. Click the filter the clumn ( ) buttn next t the clumn and then select the checkbx next t the clumn name. 5. Hide the clumn ( ) Allws users t hide the selected clumn. 6. Search Allws users t search the List View pane fr a keywrd r phrase. Yu can select Search all pages r Search current page t define the search scpe. *Nte: The search functin is nt case sensitive. 7. Management Pane Displays the actinable cntent f the DcAve mdule. 19 Cntent Manager Interface The Cntent Manager user interface is made up f the fllwing fur main areas: 1. Tabs Navigate between the different tabs f Cntent Manager. 2. Ribbn Tlbar where yu can perfrm actins, cnfigure settings, and access Jb Mnitr fr Cntent Manager jbs. 3. Surce pane Access the SharePint bjects at different levels f yur farms with cntent that yu want t cpy r mve. 4. 20 Basic Cntent Management Functins While Cntent Manager allws yu t create plans s that yu can repeatedly cpy and/r mve jbs withut having t recnfigure the settings each time, yu can als perfrm these simple tasks withut having t create an entire plan. Cpy When Cntent Manager runs a cpy jb, SharePint cntent, cnfiguratins, and securities are cpied frm the surce ndes t the destinatin nde based n the settings yu cnfigured in Default Cpy Settings. Mve When Cntent Manager runs a mve jb, SharePint cntent, cnfiguratins, and securities are cpied frm the surce ndes t the destinatin nde based n the settings yu cnfigured in Default Mve Settings. The surce nde cntent and securities are then deleted. The deletin f the surce cntent and securities can be cnfigured t ccur autmatically after the Mve jb is cmplete, r yu may chse t manually delete the cntent. *Nte: Only the items that are successfully migrated t the destinatin within lists are deleted in the surce nde cntent. The securities f the cntainer level bjects (e.g. Web applicatin, site cllectin, site, list, and flder) are nt deleted. Create Cntainer Cntent Manager allws yu t create cntainers within SharePint withut having t leave the DcAve interface. The Create Cntainer feature is useful in cases where yu want t cpy r mve cntent frm the surce ndes t a new destinatin nde withut having t pre-create the destinatin nde within SharePint. *Nte: If yu select the Include New checkbx in the Surce pane, cntent created after the plan is saved will be included when the plan is executed. *Nte: If yu select My Site in the Surce pane, use the SP2013CMCustmURLMapping.xml file t map the URL f the cntent that the user fllws in the persnal site t the designated address f the linked cntent. Cmplete the fllwing steps t mdify the file fr the URL mappings: 1. G t the server where yur destinatin DcAve Agent resides. Navigate t \AvePint\DcAve6\Agent\data\SP2013\CntentManager directry. 2. Open the SP2013CMCustmURLMapping.xml file with Ntepad, and the fllwing ndes will appear: <CustmUrlMappings> <UrlMapping Surce="" Destinatin=""/> DcAve 6 Cntent Manager 19

21 </CustmUrlMapping> 3. Enter the riginal URL f the cntent that the user fllws as the value f the Surce attribute and the designated URL yu are abut t map as the value f the Destinatin attribute. *Nte: If desired, yu can add multiple <Url Surce="SurceUrl" Destinatin="DestinatinUrl"/> ndes t map mre URLs f the linked cntent t the designated nes. 4. Save yur cnfiguratins and clse the file. After the Cntent Manager jb is finished, the URLs f the cntent that the user fllws are successfully mapped t the designated destinatin addresses f the linked cntent. *Nte: If the fllwing cnditins are met, autmatic mappings will be perfrmed n bjects within a site, accrding t relative URLs. a. A surce site URL is mapped t a destinatin site URL in the SP2013CMCustmURLMapping.xml file. b. The URLs f bjects within the surce site are nt manually mapped t designated URLs in the SP2013CMCustmURLMapping.xml file. Fr example, if the site URL is manually mapped t the site URL The dcument URL will be autmatically mapped t the dcument URL *Nte: When selecting My Site in the Surce pane, make sure that the applicatin pl accunt f the destinatin Web applicatin meets the fllwing cnditins: Is the Administratr f the User Prfile Service currently in use. Has Full Cntrl permissin t the User Prfile Service currently in use. *Nte: Yu can cntrl whether t update the URL that is linked t an bject and whether t update the URL f an bject after the bject is mved t a new destinatin within the same site cllectin by cmpleting the fllwing steps: 1. Lg int each DcAve Agent server. 2. G t the...\avepint\dcave6\agent\data\sp2010\cntentmanager directry. 3. Open the SP2010CMCnfiguratin.xml file using Ntepad. DcAve 6 Cntent Manager 20

22 4. There are tw ndes t cntrl the update f URL: Lcate the <ReplaceBackwardLinksInSameSite value="false"/> nde. If mdifying its value t true, the URL that is linked t an bject will be updated t the new ne after the surce bject is mved t a new lcatin within the same site cllectin and the surce cntent is deleted. Lcate the <ReplaceFrwardLinksInSameSite value="true"/> nde. If the site within SharePint 2013 is a SharePint 2010 mde site, it can nly be mved t the same mde site. *Nte: If the Recrd Declaratin Settings in the destinatin nde cnflict with the Recrd Declaratin Settings in the surce nde, by default the Recrd Declaratin Settings in the destinatin nde will be verwritten by the surce nde settings. Creating Cntainers Use the Create Cntainer feature t create cntainers in SharePint withut leaving the DcAve interface. T create a cntainer, enter the name f a new cntainer in the available field in the Destinatin pane, and then click Create Cntainer. The Create Cntainer interface appears. When the maximum usage limit is reached, sandbxed slutins with cde are disabled fr the rest f the day and an alert is sent t the site administratr. Chse a way t btain the Office 365 credentials fr creating a SharePint Online site cllectin. Use an existing accunt prfile Use an existing Office 365 accunt prfile t create a SharePint Online site cllectin. This ptin will be autmatically selected when there are existing Office 365 accunt prfiles in DcAve. Select an existing Office 365 accunt prfile frm the drp-dwn menu.
