1 Readme fr Advanced Rad Design V14.01 This readme cntains imprtant infrmatin regarding the installatin and use f Advanced Rad Design versins as described abve. This versin f Advanced Rad Design is available fr multiple CAD platfrms, including: - ARD V14 fr Civil 3D AutCAD Civil 3D (2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011) - ARD V14 fr AutCAD AutCAD Civil 3D (2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011) AutCAD Map 3D (2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011) AutCAD (2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011) - ARD V14 fr BricsCAD Versin 3.1x Installatin Instructins Yu d nt need t uninstall any previus versins f Advanced Rad Design. This installatin will install ver the tp f any previus ARD installatin. Licensing Changes This versin uses a new licensing system Infralutin Licensing. Yu will have a new Serial Number fr this versin, supprting ARD V14 acrss all CAD platfrms. The V14 license key will activate any ARD V14 acrss all platfrms (eg: ARD V14 n Civil 3D 2014 and ARD V14 nr Civil 3D 2011 will bth access the same license file). If yu haven't received yur serial (license) key via , please cntact the Subscriptin Crdinatr. The license key is sent t the subscriptin manager at each rganisatin with active subscriptin. Imprtant infrmatin Data Backups In the Settings, users can specify an autmatic ARD data backup regime. It is strngly recmmended that users g t Rads Tab > Settings Panel > Glbal Drawing Settings > Miscellaneus tab in the settings frm and select the timing fr aut backups and tick n if it is desired t create a data cpy n startup f the prject. ARD 2013 and Earlier users: If yu currently use ARD 2013 r earlier versins, this versin will result in a data frmat change yu will nt be able t wrk with the data in an lder versin after pening. A cpy f the AdvRads-10 flder (which cntains all the data) is made when ARD V14 detects an lder prject, s yu can g t this backup by pening the <Drawing Name>-Data flder using Windws Explrer. 2 Imprtant infrmatin -.NET Framewrk If yu're experiencing issues running Advanced Rad Design (i.e. yu receive an 'Unknwn cmmand' whilst running the sftware), ensure that Micrsft.NET Framewrk is turned n. Yu can turn n Micrsft.NET Framewrk by fllwing these steps Type 'Windws Features' in the Windws Start menu 2. Run 'Turn Windws Features n r ff'. 3. Ensure Micrsft.NET Framewrk is turned n. New Features Rads - Create Draped Strings (Rads Tab > Design Panel > Create String/Prfile drpdwn > Create Draped String) (Rads Menu > Create Draped String) Opens a frm t enable creatin f multiple strings with elevatins matching a user selected surface. This bth creates a string frm the alignment and sets elevatins t match the surface. Sectin sampling and a template can be applied in the ne frm - Update Draped Strings (Rads Tab > Edit Panel > Create Draped String) (Rads Menu > Edit > Create Draped String) Updates the elevatins f draped strings, when surface elevatins are edited. - Add Extra Sectins (Rads Tab > Edit Panel > Resample Crss Sectins Drpdwn > Add Extra Sectins) (Rads Menu > Edit > Add Extra Sectins) ( buttn added t the Vertical Grading Editr, Design Data and Mdel Builder frms) Opens a frm t add extra sectins/sampling t a selected string Enhanced additin tls by pick n screen, pick a range and interval and pick an alignment (t autmatically apply start and end chainage) - Rads VGE Add Extra Sectins buttn added, s extra sampling can be added t the String directly frm the VGE VGE Update Cntrl buttn added tick this ff t disable autmatic updating f mdels and linewrk as the VGE is edited. Users can select a file f chainages/elevatins and ARD will fit vertical curve/s using the data - Design Data Frm Variatins Set Slpe t Cde frm Other Cdes (New Functin) Allws the designer t pick a cde t edit the slpe, then specify tw design cdes n the crss sectin ARD then calculates the slpe between the cdes applies that t the selected cde. Als includes grade break cntrls. Sectin slpe updates as cde ffsets/elevatins change. Pick tw cdes n the same side as the cde yur editing, with cdes lcated between the centreline and the cde yu re editing Add Extra Sectins buttn added, s extra sampling can be added t the String directly frm the VGE - Mdel Utilities cmmand (type cmmand arduv7mdel utilities) Lets yu frce the frm t the frnt, t clse the frm r t reset layer transparencies. Pipes - Set All Pit Sump Levels (Pipes Tab > Edit Panel > Set All Pit Sump Levels) (Pipes Menu > Edit > Set All Pit Sump Levels) Users can select a netwrk and edit the sump prperties fr all pits in the netwrk at nce. - Find Pit (Pipes Tab > Edit Panel > Find Pit) (Pipes Menu > Edit > Find Pit) Opens a frm fr picking a pit frm a list and zming t the pit in the drawing - Pipes VGE Set Multiple Pipe Slpes Set pipe slpes fr multiple pipes simultaneusly varius methds fr specifying the extents ver which t apply the pipe slpe change. - Sewer Huse Cnnectin Table Creates a.csv file fr pening in Micrsft Excel r t use as an AutCAD table. The table frmat matches t many custmer requests fr headings and clumns in a table. 4 Lists each string created, identifies the Type and allws yu t cntrl whether it is included in the TtalMdel Surface r shwn in the Aut Linewrk Display Edit TtalMdel Surface Users can select any strings t be included r excluded t the TtalMdel surface, which is built when yu run the Aut Mdel cmmand By default, Aut Mdel includes all the Rads, Kerb Returns, Cul-de-sacs, Knuckles and (ptinally) Rundabuts. Aut Linewrk Display Users can cntrl the display f the autmatic linewrk by including r excluding Strings frm the Aut Linewrk Display. By default, the linewrk f every String created is drawn including all cdes. - The speed f pening and wrking in the Vertical grading Editr has been imprved Fixed a speed bttle neck shwing large pipe netwrks In the Settings, can nw save the existing surface sectins t file this addresses a speed issue in Civil 3D reading the surfaces frm file Setting fr manual updating in the VGE nw updates the current VGE previusly this wuld stp the current VGE and current sectins frm updating until exit frm the VGE - Vertical Grading Editr Crssing Rad String names nw added n the VGE windw. - Additinal Settings in the Active/Glbal Drawing Settings frm > Miscellaneus tab Pint Mnitr puts a tracker n the muse pints and/r the bttm left crner t shw the chainage, ffset, side and alignment name when yu mve in the drawing Sectin Line Cntrls Pipes - VGE Imprvements Set the width f sectin lines based n the sectin widths set fr the string, and/r Set the width f sectins t match the Design Width with ptinal extensins Save Settings Backup settings, can be set t happen n a regular basis (Time Interval in hurs) and cpy ut as files r as a zipped file Tick bx t make a data backup when a prject is pened Speed settings Set t save the existing surface sectins t file if speed is slw Set VGE update cntrls Put a clur n the pipe slpe t highlight pink/red when the slpes are utside the maximum r minimum slpes fr the pipe (as specified in the settings) Changed the multiple pipe slpe buttn icn and mved it next t the existing pipe slpe buttn - Changed the ptins fr selecting a pit, pipe r netwrk yu can nw select frm a list.
