Ensure your network list is accurate It is possible, but unlikely the AS-2000 wireless station or some other network component may be unavailable. There are many reasons this may happen, and service is usually restored quickly. You might try connecting later, or try connecting again from another location nearer the station. For quickest resolution, and since most problems are related to configuration issues, please contact your network administrator as your first line of support. a. Check your user name and password. They are case sensitive. b. Contact your network administrator to ensure your network profile is correct. A2-2 Avaya AS Client User s Guide

35 Appendix A2 AS Client for MacOS Troubleshooting Verifying your Network List This section of the AS Client User Guide is intended for network maintenance personnel who setup the client configuration. If you are unsure of the following procedure, please contact your network administrator. In order for your AS Client to associate (connect) with a network, it must know the names of available networks. At least one network must be available for the AS Client to start. Use the following procedure to ensure the proper network names are in the lists in your network folder. 1. Navigate to the Avaya Folder and open it. Hint: Look in Preferences of your System Folder. 2. Open the Network Files folder. The Network Files Folder contains one or more text files, which are simple lists of network names. An example folder is shown below (your folder may be different). The folder file names are the names that appear on the network list in the AS Client Control Panel. Network Files Click the Install button to install ORiNOCO AS Client Business Center My Local Airport Avaya AS Client User s Guide A2-3

36 Appendix A2 MacOS AS Client Troubleshooting 3. Ensure your network name(s) are accurate. Each file in the folder is a textual list. When you select a network from the AS Client Control Panel, the network names listed in the file will become available, if the associated AS-2000 is within range and operating. Editing network names: One way to edit network names is to open the file with SimpleText. Using our example below, you would start SimpleText, then open and edit the file Business Center. Names must be spelled exactly, and are case sensitive. Each network name must be on a different line. Press Return after the last line in the list. For example, if your network names were named after common wireless cells in a typical office building, your file might be named Business Center and its list of network names might look like this: Lobby West Wing Floor 2 Cafeteria Once the Network Folders and the network names are accurate, you can connect. To connect to the network, please refer to Section 6, "Running AS Client for MacOS. A2-4 Avaya AS Client User s Guide
