3 Overview This dcument prvides technical infrmatin t assist Resellers t install Demand Frecasting fr Micrsft Dynamics 365 fr Operatins (D365) internally and at custmer sites. Hardware and Sftware requirements Demand Frecasting des nt have any specific hardware requirements ver thse nrmally cnfigured fr the standard Micrsft Dynamics D365 fr Operatins prduct. The versins f Micrsft Dynamics 365 fr Operatins that this release is available fr are shwn in its release package names. Installatin Checklist The fllwing are the key installatin requirements fr Demand Frecasting: A Develpment and Test Micrsft Dynamics 365 fr Operatins system (Database, AOS and client) must be installed. Installatin is t be perfrmed int the Develpment r Test envirnments nly Micrsft Deplyment tls must be used t package up and mve the supplied mdel files and dependencies frm the Develpment envirnment int all ther envirnments such as prductin The Micrsft.NET framewrk versin 4.0 (r abve) must be installed n the AX applicatin bject server (AOS). Nte that in case f a multiple r clustered envirnment, the.net framewrk must be installed n each AOS that is part f the envirnment. A valid license cde. Demand Frecasting requires a license key supplied by Farsight Slutins. If yu d nt have a valid license fr yur site, yu cannt use this mdule. 4 Deplyment Sequence T successfully install Demand Frecasting, we recmmend that yu fllw the prcess utlined belw: Install the mdel file Install the license file Update the applicatin Deplying the package The package cntains all the cmpnent that are required fr the demand frecasting mdule. All the deplyment steps must be fllwed and executed successfully in the right sequence as per Micrsft guidelines. This is nrmally dne using Life Cycle Services (LCS). Fr deplyment t a Micrsft managed clud envirnment - as may be the case fr yur prductin D365 envirnment, yu must fllw all the steps required by Micrsft t deply the package and licenses int the prductin envirnment. It is strngly recmmended that, as per recmmended best practises, up t date backups f yur applicatin database and mdel stre databases have been made prir t starting these steps. This is necessary t prvide rllback ptins in case f any issues during the upgrade. Nte: All cmpnents in the package file must be installed tgether as there are third party DLLs which need be installed t ensure crrect peratin f the slutin. If yu are nt familiair with deplying packages using LCS, we recmmend yu seek the guidance an experienced D365 Develper t assist with this prcess. Install the license file Once the mdel is installed yu need t install the license file t unlck the Demand Frecasting functinality. The license file is btained frm Farsight Slutins and the license requires that yu prvide the D365 license infrmatin s that the crrect license file can be generated. The Tenant name and Serial number and the number f licensed D365 full users are required. Deplyment f the license file int a DEV/TEST envirnment Once yu have btained the license file fr yur installatin, yu shuld perfrm these steps t install it int yur DEV/TEST envirnments: 1. Save the license file in the t a temprary lcatin n yur D365 server such as c:\temp 1. Run Windws Cmmand prmpt in administratr mde 2. Run the fllwing cmmands at the cmmand prmpt: cd C:\AOSService\PackagesLcalDirectry\Bin 3. Micrsft.Dynamics.AX.Deplyment.Setup.exe --setupmde imprtlicensefile --metadatadir <packagesflder> --bindir <packagesflder> --sqlserver <sqlserver> --sqldatabase <D365SQLDatabaseName> --sqluser <SQLDatabaseUsername> --sqlpwd <passwrd> -- licensefilename <fullpathtlicensefile> Cpyright 2017 Farsight Slutins Limited - 2-1/06/2018

5 Deplyment f the license file int a Prductin envirnment Fr deplyment int yur Prductin envirnment the license file shuld be placed int the AsService\Scripts\License sub-flder inside the package Zip file yu create frm yur DEV/TEST envirnment. Multiple licenses can be placed here in yur package if licensing f multiple slutins is needed. The package installer will then apply the license file t yur prductin envirnment during the package deplyment. DEV/TEST ONLY Build / update the applicatin 1. Using Run as administratr, start Visual Studi, (lgin using yur Windws Live Id) 2. Frm the Dynamics 365->Build mdels menu Select the DemandFrecasting [Demand Frecasting] mdel and the standard Retail mdel [nt shwn here]. This is needed as there are cde extensins which verlap with changes t the Retail mdel that were intrduced with the July 2017 Applicatin Update. Cpyright 2017 Farsight Slutins Limited - 3-1/06/2018

7 4. Then click the Build buttn 5. Allw build t cmplete, reviewing and crrecting any build issues reprted 6. The update is nw cmplete. Backups The mdule is backed up as part f the standard Dynamics 365 backup strategy, s the backup strategy des nt need t be altered when using Demand Frecasting.
