3 Introduction 1 Introduction This release note describes the bug fixes in the maintenance release for Release 1.0 of the Acano Server software (R1.0.12). Note that versions to were not released. 2 New Features/Changes in Acano Solution Virtual Deployment Release R is a bug-fix release (as detailed in these release notes); with the exception that it is also the first official release of the Acano solution virtual deployment (VM version). There is a new Virtualized Deployment Installation Guide (to go alongside the Acano Server Installation Guide) If you are installing the Acano solution virtualized deployment for the first time, follow the Virtualized Deployment Installation Guide, and then be sure to obtain an activation key as described there; otherwise the call capacity will be limited. If you are upgrading from a beta version of the virtualized deployment, see the next section. An updated Deployment Guide includes both deployment types and will be released shortly on the partner website. The MMP Command Reference document is also being updated to specify the small differences in MMP commands between Acano Server and virtualized deployments. 4 Notes on Installing R Notes on Installing R This section includes information about upgrading an Acano Server Release 1.0.x or Virtualized deployment beta version to R Note: Before upgrading we recommend that you take a configuration snapshot using the MMP command config snapshot <filename> or on an Acano Server a complete system backup using the backup snapshot <filename> command. (The backup command is not urrently available on virtualized deployments this is a known issue.) See the MMP Command Reference document for full details of these commands. 3.1 Upgrading to Release R The instructions in this section apply to both Acano Server and virtualize deployments. Upgrading the firmware is a two-stage process: first, upload the upgraded firmware image; then issue the upgrade command. (This restarts the Acano solution: the restart process interrupts all active calls running on the Acano solution; therefore, this stage should be done at a suitable time so as not to impact users or users should be warned in advance. To install the new firmware on the Acano solution follow these steps: 1. Obtain the upgrade image from the secure partner section of the Acano website. You should have obtained a file called upgrade.img. If this is not the case rename the file to upgrade.img. 2. Using a SFTP client, log into the MMP using its IP address. The login credentials will be the ones set for the MMP admin account. If you are using Windows, we recommend using the winscp tool. Note1: You can find the IP address of the MMP s interface with the ipv4 admin command. Note2: The SFTP server runs on the standard port, 22. Note3: After copying the upgrade.img file, you will not be able to see it listed as being in the file system; this is normal. 3. Copy the software to the Acano Server/virtualized server. 4. To apply the upgrade, issue the upgrade command. a. Establish a SSH connection to the MMP and log in. b. Initiate the upgrade by executing the upgrade command. upgrade The Acano Server/virtualized server restarts automatically: allow 10 minutes for the process to complete. 5. Verify that the Acano solution is running the upgraded image by re-establishing the SSH connection to the MMP and typing : Acano Solution: Acano Server Release Release Notes I Page 4

5 Notes on Installing R version Refer to the MMP Command Reference document for more information. 3.2 Additional Consideration for R on VM The Acano solution virtual deployment R needs an activation key that depends on the virtual server s MAC address; otherwise the call capacity will be limited as shown by the banner in the Web Admin Interface. If you are upgrading from a version earlier than 1.0.7, you need to obtain the activation key now. Follow these steps after upgrading: 1. Log in to the MMP and enter the following command to find the MAC address: ipv4 a 2. the MAC address to support@acano.com. 3. After an activation key code is returned by , enter the code as follows: a. Log in to the MMP and enter the following command: activation <key code> b. Restart the Call Bridge by entering: callbridge restart c. Check that the activation key was valid by signing into the Web Admin Interface: the banner should not appear. 6 Resolved Issues 4 Resolved Issues Resolved in Release Unable to read software version in a VM deployment 3430 Shared content not appearing on EX90 dialed into a cospace 3556 HDX dialing into a cospace does not show existing presentation 3614 Server crash on setting up an incoming encrypted SIP call A virtual Acano solution deployment would not report its software version with the MMP command version. This is fixed in If you join a cospace on the EX90 when a presentation is being shared, the content may not be displayed. It does not occur if the presentation starts after you join the cospace. This is fixed in If an interworked HDX dials in to a cospace where there is an existing presentation, the HDX does not receive the presentation. This is fixed in A crash could be caused by blocking a send on the socket/pipe used for exchanging data between our RDPConnection object and the RDP stack. This is fixed in DNS issues causing a crash A DNS blocking issue could cause the Acano Server to crash. This is fixed in NTP configuration issue on VM deployment 3786 No RX Video after Hold/Resume from SIP codecs On VM deployments, there could be an issue configuring the NTP server because of an inappropriate hostname being tried by default. This is fixed in In encrypted SIP calls with more than one site, if one site resumed after a hold, the other site(s) would no see the video being sent because of an RTCP TX encryption issue. This is fixed in Resolved in Release Lync content sometimes drops if idle 3178 Web Bridge restart on VM not always successful 3328 Avistar soft client unable to call into the Acano Server 3653 No log file in the MMP file system for the Acano VM 3709 Outgoing calls to Lync do not connect If a static image is being shown, no new data is being sent and after 30 seconds the content stream would stop. This is fixed in R1.0.7 and static content remains. The Web Bridge could time out without an error. This is fixed in R Avistar soft client would crash after a few seconds because of the custom RTCP sent by the Acano solution and would need to be restarted. This is fixed in R1.0.7 and this custom RTCP is not sent to the Avistar client. No log file was displayed in the MMP file system for the Acano virtualized deployment. (The issue did not apply to an Acano Server deployment.) This is fixed in R If ICE completed, and the local candidate for the chosen pair was a "Server reflexive" candidate, we would incorrectly advertise the "Host" candidate's IP address and port to Lync in the re-invite, Acano Solution: Acano Server Release Release Notes I Page 6

7 Resolved Issues at which point Lync would reject the call. We will now signal the correct IP and port to Lync in this case and this issue is fixed in R Resolved in Release Issues downloading log file There was an issue downloading the log file until it was a certain size. This issue is fixed in Locked out of Acano Server after pushing red reset button In certain cases there was an issue with the feature to regenerate an Admin login account. This issue is fixed in Resolved in Release The file size reported by some SFTP clients when listing files in the MMP file area is reported as being zero bytes. The file size reported by some SFTP clients, such as Mac OS X, when listing files in the MMP file area is reported as being zero bytes. This does not impact the ability to transfer the files. This issue is fixed in Default cospace layout not applied to new calls 3075 Audio issues in interworked calls with LifeSize endpoints 3226 bad path error when using dns del command 3238 Unable to call directly into cospace using a URI x1200 content sent at bad resolution 3268 Polycom HDX via a DMA drops call If a default layout was set for a cospace using the API, this layout was not applied to new calls to that cospace, only to calls that were ongoing at the time of the change. This has been fixed in Sometimes interworked calls between the PC Client and a LifeSize Room H.323 endpoint resulted in strange electronic sounding audio being received by the endpoint. This issue is fixed in When using the MMP dns del command, the specified dns entry was deleted, but an error message was also produced. This is fixed in Calls of the form <number>@<ipaddress>;user=phone were not matched to a cospace. This is fixed in The 1920x1080 aspect ratio was rejected and a different resolution was used, which could result in fuzzy content: This is fixed in The Polycom HDX would drop the call due to errors in its SDP parsing. The Acano solution has changed what it sends to accommodate this and the issue is fixed in Calls to SIPS URIs could fail Calls using SIP were matched to a cospace but the identical URI did not match using SIPS making it a secure SIP issue. This is fixed in Dashes stripped from clientsupplied cospace URI hints In constructing a URI from a client supplied URI hint, the server stripped out dashes, which are valid characters. 8 Resolved Issues 3312 Interworked DTMF could fail Calls interworked from H.323 DTMF could fail if a single frame in the middle was mis-detected as not containing DTMF. In minimum/maximum durations and intervals have been adjusted to improve DTMF detection and the issue is fixed Interworked HDX joining call stops existing content stream 3406 Interworked h323 content using VCS can fail The interworked HDX call was becoming the presenter as soon as it joined the call, but not actually contributing any content. In this behaviour is now handled in a way that prevents the HDX from stopping the existing content stream and the issue is fixed. On a call hosted by the Acano Server, a C20 did not receive content that was interworked by a VCS. This was an issue related to the C20 s graphics capability in the main video being affected by the content. This is fixed in Resolved in Release Content not shown on slave when presenting from a slave endpoint Content being shared from one slave device is not appearing on other slave devices. This issue is fixed in Lip sync A number of lip sync improvements have been made in cospace loses Call ID when edited 3216 DTMF IVR issues in Polycom calls interworked with VCS Occasionally, when editing a cospace the Call ID would be lost. This issue is fixed in Unable to make DTMF work with the Acano IVR for certain Polycom endpoints connecting as H.323 through VCS to the Acano Server. This issue is fixed in Resolved in Release Occasional garbled initial frame of shared video from Lync. Occasionally sharing from Lync 2010, produced an initial frame of video seen briefly as garbled content. This is fixed in DTMF not working well Some numbers were not being registered by the Codian MCU meaning that callers could not enter their Call ID. This has been fixed in Interworked calls through Codian MCU drop after 30 seconds 3037 Low bitrate video from Lync client over Lync edge When making calls out to a Cisco VCS which interworks to H.323, the Codian MCU sets the Acano Server to refresh. RC1 server code does not support reinvites to refresh the session, and instead the Acano Server tries to refresh the session with an UPDATE which the VCS signals it does not support, therefore the call times out. A future release will address this issue by not sending UPDATE if the VCS signals that it does not support them. This has been fixed in When calling from a Lync client the video bitrate to the Acano Server could be very low, approximately Kb/s. This is fixed in Acano Solution: Acano Server Release Release Notes I Page 8

9 Resolved Issues 3046 Very low level and distorted audio received from a LifeSize Icon 600 endpoint 3065 The first few words spoken by the Lync users are suppressed and not heard This has been noted in calls involving LifeSize Icon 600 endpoints running software version Video was not affected. This is fixed in Occurs when the Lync client decides that there is no incoming audio from the Microphone and switches to sending 'silence'. Then, when audio is spoken again, it takes a time period to reactivate the audio and during this time 2-3 words are dropped. This is fixed in Acano Solution: Acano Server Release Release Notes I Page 9

10 Known Limitations 5 Known Limitations If you encounter any of the following issues, contact support@acano.com because we are likely to have test builds to send you with fixes for many or all of them by the time you find them Lync Edge clients lose audio/video after hold/resume 2578 Escalation from audio to video not working over Lync Edge server 2592 Content sharing is currently not supported from Lync clients using the Lync Edge Server 3445 Lync 2010 calls to cospace with PIN do not connect reliably 3630 New.pcap file is not visible on existing SFTP session 3899 Factory reset MMP command missing from VM version 3900 Backup command missing from VM version 3930 Encrypted calls to some HDX endpoints connect but may not show video or audio If you dial a Lync 2010 client into a cospace and hold/resume the call a few times, it can end up with either no audio or no video or no media at all after a call resume. If you leave it in this state, Lync 2010 client eventually prints a message saying "Call failed due to network issues". This issue will be addressed in a future release. Escalation from audio to video is currently not working over Lync Edge server; this will be addressed in a future release. This feature to allow Lync clients using the Lync Edge server to share content will be added in a future release. If dialing from a Lync client using the Lync 2010 server which has SupportEncryption or RequireEncryption set, then after you enter the cospace PIN, the result can be unreliable. The call may connect perfectly, or audio and/or video may not be sent. A.pcap file created in an SFTP session is not listed until the session is terminated and a new SFTP session started. The VM version does not include the factory reset command: this will be added in release 1.1. The VM version does not include the MMP backup command. When calling HDX endpoints running software Release with an Acano setting of Encryption Allowed the call connects but HDX video is not shown to the other participants and their video also does not appear on the HDX. Audio may also be affected. This issue is because the encryption suite advertised by the Acano solution is not recognized unencrypted calls work fine.
