1 Retrieve Download File from CSDI Installation Instructions Rev FOOD & NUTRITION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS This instruction sheet provides instructions for installing our Retrieve Download File from CSDI to your Windows PC. There are two basic steps to be performed: 1. Download the software installer 2. Run the software installer Step One Download the software installer To install our Retrieve Download File from CSDI software you will first need to download it. You may download the installation package from the Systems Design support webpage. Direct your web browser (Internet Explorer) to then click on any link to the Support webpage. In the section labeled 6 - Software Downloads, click the entry labeled Create Retrieve Download from CSDI Setup Program to download the installation setup package. Your system should give options to Open or Save the download file. We recommend you select the Save option in order to save the installation file on your Windows Desktop so you may easily locate the file in the next step. When the file is downloaded you may proceed to the next step or wait until a later time to perform the installation. Step Two Install the Retrieve Download File from CSDI Close all open programs and windows, then locate the installation file on your desktop or navigate to the location where you saved the installation file. Double-click the icon to launch the Retrieve Download File from CSDI software installation program [CreateRetrieveDownload.exe]. Windows displays a warning that the application is unsigned by a publisher. Click Run to begin the installation. 2 Next, the system displays a self-extractor. Click on the Browse button. Scroll all the way to the top of Window and click on Desktop. Click on OK. CreateRetrieveDownloadInstructions_ doc Russell Montgomery,russellm@systemsdesignusa.com Page 2 of 7
3 Click on Unzip. After the files are extracted, the systems displays: Click on OK. Now close this program by clicking on Close. You will have a new file folder icon on your desktop labeled CreateRetrieveDownload double-click on this file folder to open it. 4 Double click on CreateFtpDC to begin the installation. The system will prompt for the IP address of your Food Service server. Enter the IP Address. If you are unsure of this entry, please contact Systems Design support team. After you have typed the IP address and pressed [ENTER], the system will validate the address and continue the installation process. The system will prompt for the server s download password. 5 The system will prompt for the IP address of your Food Service server. Press [ENTER] unless you are instructed to enter an alternate path. After you have entered the path and pressed [ENTER], the system will validate the path exists and continue the installation process. The system will prompt for the server s IP Address. Enter the server s IP address and press [ENTER]. The system will validate the IP address and if correct prompt you for the FTP username: Enter the server s FTP username and press [ENTER]. The system will then display the settings you have enter and prompt you to verify they are correct. Type Y if correct, type N if incorrect; otherwise type Q to quit. Press [ENTER] after typing your response. Using the entries you have made, the program will attempt to login to the system using the information you have provided. 6 You will be notified whether the login attempt failed and you will be allowed to reenter your credentials; otherwise if you were successful you will be notified to begin the installation by pressing [ENTER]. The system will complete the installation process. Press [ENTER] to exit. Close the CreateRetrieveDownload window. (Sample below) CreateRetrieveDownloadInstructions_ doc Russell Page 6 of 7
7 Delete the CreateRetrieveDownload file folder from your Desktop. Delete the CreateFTPDC application from your Desktop. You will see there are two new icons on your Desktop named Retrieve Download file from CSDI and Retrieve Download file from CSDI Diagnotic. These are the icons that will transfer a file from your Food Service Server to you PC. The only difference is that Retrieve Download file from CSDI Diagnotic displays the parameters if testing the file. We recommend you delete both shortcuts from your Desktop and instead use Start->All Programs->CSDI- > Retrieve Download file from CSDI CreateRetrieveDownloadInstructions_ doc Russell Montgomery,russellm@systemsdesignusa.com Page 7 of 7
