3 TITLE NAVIGATION - EPIC PHASE 4 SOFTWARE UPGRADE EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 680 (Citation Sovereign) thru The equivalent of this service bulletin has been incorporated on production airplanes and On. NOTE: The accomplishment of this service bulletin will have no affect on RVSM operations. NOTE: Cessna Aircraft Company approves only a Cessna representative (with instructions from Cessna Aircraft Company for this software upgrade) or a Honeywell representative to complete this software upgrade. After completion of this upgrade by a Cessna representative or Honeywell representative as specified above, the maintenance technician must show accomplishment of this service bulletin with documentation in the airplane logbook for installation of this software upgrade. REASON To upgrade Honeywell Epic software. Refer to the Flight Crew Operations Summary for a list of changes provided by Phase 4. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides parts and instructions to update the Honeywell Primus Epic software to Phase 4. 4 COMPLIANCE RECOMMENDED. This service bulletin should be accomplished at a scheduled maintenance period or phase inspection. A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Cessna Aircraft Company is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Cessna-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Cessna Aircraft Company. Cessna Aircraft Company is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Cessna-owned Citation Service Center. FLIGHT CREW OPERATIONS Refer to the attached Flight Crew Operations Summary. APPROVAL FAA approval has been obtained on technical data in this publication that affects airplane type design. 6 PUBLICATIONS AFFECTED Cessna Model 680 Illustrated Parts Catalog Cessna Model 680 FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prepare the airplane for electrical power. A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. B. Connect electrical power to the airplane. (1) Connect the airplane battery. (2) Connect external electrical power. (3) Turn power on. 2. Read out settings. A. Connect the laptop computer to the LAN port on the left aft area of the pedestal. B. Disable any wireless connection from the laptop. The upload of the software will fail if a wireless connection is in use. C. Start the APM (Aircraft Personality Module) tool. D. Point APM tool at Phase 3 CD (MM ); apm-defn\setting.def file. (1) Select the option labeled "Get APM list". E. Use APM tool to read out the current settings. F. Write the settings down so that they can be entered after Phase 4 installation. G. Cycle the airplane power. NOTE: Keep the power off for a minimum of 3 minutes for the CMC to boot down. 3. Install the Epic operational software. A. Start to install the new Epic software. NOTE: Loading the Epic Flight Software and the Epic APM Options Software requires special training and must be completed by a Honeywell representative or approved technician at a Cessna owned or authorized Citation Service Center. NOTE: It will take approximately two hours to complete the software installation. While the software is installing, all of the systems that have an input to Epic can be operated. The information that is displayed on the EFIS should not be considered accurate. NOTE: The airplane must have weight on wheels to install the software. 4. Install the LDI. 5. Install the options CD. A. Get the old options CD part number. NOTE: If the options CD part number is not known, it can be found on the SCMS page on the DU3. B. Determine if the DMU is installed. C. Determine the new part number from the table that follows. Revision 1 - Jun 1/2007 Page 4

Install TOLD database and remove the TOLD limitation placard (if TOLD is installed). 7. Install the CMF AMI (if CMF is installed). 8. Install the settings to airplane. A. Start APM tool. B. Point APM tool at Phase 4 CD; apm-def\settings.def file. C. Select option labelled, (load from definition file). NOTE: If the settings are read from an airplane using the Phase 3 definitions file, there may be data corruption. The settings must be entered using the Phase 4 defaults as a baseline. D. Change the settings to match those written down in Step 2. NOTE: TheDMUthatwasinthePhase3settingwillbeinthePhase4optionsfile. The settings labeled DMU Installed is used to determine the options file and does not get programmed into the settings. E. Install the settings into the airplane. 9. Check the database files that follow to make sure they are unchanged. NOTE: The databases are not changed but they may need to be reloaded. A. For airplanes that will not be installing SB Epic Phase IV Chart Installation at this time, do a check of the information that follow.: (1) The information that follows can be in the Aircraft database module or on the current navigation database CD. Aircraft database Navigation database (2) The information that follows can be in the aircraft database, Cessna CD or on a vendor CD if a vendor checklist was installed. Electronic checklist (3) The information that follows is available on the current navigation database CD. EGPWM Terrain EGPWM envelope database B. For airplanes that will be installing SB Epic Phase IV Chart Installation at this time, the software that follows will need to be loaded from the red CD that comes with SB : Aircraft database Navigation database EGPWM terrain databas EGPWM envelope database (1) The information that follows can be in the aircraft database, Cessna CD or on a vendor CD if a vendor checklist was installed. 8 CAUTION: Before turning the airplane power off, wait 3 minutes after the last software load completes. Software data could be corrupted or erased if this is not done. A. Turn the airplane power off. NOTE: It is not necessary to disconnect external power. B. Wait a minimum of 3 minutes. C. Turn the airplane power on. 11. Do a check of the system software load. A. Make sure the airplane is in ground mode. B. Turn on all avionic systems and allow time for initialization. C. Make sure the software version is correct. (1) Use the copilot's Cursor Control Display (CCD), select the MAP pull-down menu on DU3. (2) Select SCMS and examine the SCMS pages to make sure the software and database identifiers are correct. (a) Page 1: Top level system part number EB Configuration part number - TT XXX (determined by options table in Step 5) (b) Page 2: FMS1 A/C PERF-SVRGN-L3 FMS2 A/C PERF-SVRGN-L3 (c) Page 4: EGPWM 1 Terrain or later terrain database EGPWM 1 Envelope Modulation or later envelope database (d) Page 5: ECL 1 Checklist - CitSov None.ecl (or file which was created by the operator) CMC 1 LDI CMF1 AMI (if CMF installed) TOLD 1 Data C MAR2007 (if TOLD installed) TOLD 2 Data C MAR2007 (if TOLD installed) (3) Press CONFIRM on the SCMS screen after you make sure of each identifier above. D. Make sure that the EICAS message "CONFIGURATION MISMATCH is not displayed. NOTE: If the CONFIGURATION MISMATCH" message is present, the software load and/or hardware configuration is not correct for the Phase 4 configuration. This must be corrected before you continue with the instructions. E. Make sure that there is not a scratchpad message on either of the MCDU s indicating an invalid or expired NAV database. NOTE: If there is a scratch pad message, the NAV database must be loaded again. F. Review each display and any EICAS messages that are shown. All conditions and failures must be understood or accounted for. 12. Make sure the Flight Crew Operations Summary included with this service bulletin is given to the crew to inform them of the operational changes resulting from incorporation of this service bulletin. 13. Update the Cessna Model 680 FAA approved Flight Manual with Revision 6 or later. 14. Record that this service bulletin has been completed. A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Send a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report to: CESCOM, PO, Box 7706, Wichita, KS Make sure that the Flight Crew Operations Summary included with this service bulletin is given to the crew to inform them of the operational changes resulting from incorporation of this service bulletin. 13 ATTACHMENT FLIGHT CREW OPERATIONS SUMMARY This summary provides additional information for the flight crew regarding operational changes as a result of accomplishment of this service bulletin. Please remove this summary from the service bulletin and give it to the flight crew. This summary does not supersede any information in the FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual. The changes that follow is for information only, which: Adds steep approach selection to TOLD landing page. Adds a runway scaling factor to TOLD to give factored runway length data as necessary by 14 CFR part 91, Subpart K, Section and European requirements. A choice of the current method or part 91 methodcanbeused. Adds a CRC check to the flight software that will remove the need for a periodic check. Moves EGPWM to MAU 2 to support the electronic charts and uplinked weather map options. Airplanes that do not have electronic charts and uplinked weather do not need to change. EGPWM can now be in MAU 1 or MAU 2. Made the TOLD database a separate loadable database Adds an option to install electronic charts. A separate service bulletin is required to install the option. Adds an option to install an uplink weather map. A separate service bulletin is required to install the option. Updates the TOLD data to support the 300 pound gross weight increase.
