3 Network Video Recorder Software 2.2 User Manual Network Video Recorder Software 2.2 (NVR Software 2.2) is a total solution for managing network products. Major features including 36 channels of network video recording, 64 windows-division for remote DVR monitoring in one screen, E-Map central alarm management system, event log and device status reporting system, and remote DVR video playback are integrated within one system application. Network devices such as IP Fast Dome, LAN camera, MPEG-4 6 series DVR, and video server can be recorded remotely in a PC. Device grouping based on geographical location and function can be easily recalled and managed. One important feature of E-Map is the central management system for alarm events, live monitoring, and map management. IP devices installed at different locations can be represented and managed by using maps. Alarm or motion notification on a map triggering live video switching for a device is another important feature. Easy-to-use user interface and Dualview mode allow a user to manage large quantity of DVRs and IP-based products. For long-hour recording purpose, PSH-100, SATA RAID Storage System can be equipped for NVR Software 2.2 to maximize the recording capacity. Circular recording, individual HDD recording configurable, and individual camera recording configurable provide the flexibilities in managing recording storages. NVR Software 2.2 is designated for hybrid solution of IP camera, video server, IP Fast Dome, and DVRs. It provides total solutions in digital surveillance. With NVR Software 2.2, you can do: 1. Record and manage 36 channels of IP cameras and MPEG-4 6 series DVR devices 2. View 36 live video for IP-based products or 64 live video for MPEG-4 6 series DVR 3. Device grouping and recall 4. Support multiple HDDs for circular recording 5. PTZ controls by mouse and keyboard for IP Fast Dome 6. Export recorded video to AVI file format 7. Easy-to-use calendar and time selections for video playback 8. Dynamically video channels swapping with mouse drag-and-drop 9. Three user access levels 10. CD burner supported 11. Centralized time synchronization 12. DNS addressable 13. Smart video search

4 With E-Map, you can do: 1. Central management for IP devices including live monitoring and PTZ control 2. Map list to manage multiple sites 3. Quick device searching list 4. Alarm notification triggers live video and map switching 5. PTZ full feature control 6. Import & export JPEG map 7. Drag-and-drop for managing devices on maps Total Solution NVR Software 2.2 acts as a central hub in managing analog device and digital devices. As in system architecture below, NVR Software can manage traditional analog system and existing CCTV infrastructure. Adding digital solution does not waste existing CCTV investment. Furthermore, the software will be constantly maintained for adding more device support and adding more solutions. End user does not have to worry about compatibility issue for expending system devices within near future. Camera monitoring center Alarm management Device status manager Remote DVR player System Architecture This system diagram describes Merit LILIN s digital and analog surveillance solutions. NVR Software 2.2 manages digital devices via LAN or Internet. All the features including live monitoring, remote playback, or alarm events of IP-based devices and DVRs can be managed.

5 General Notations The terms of IP-based devices or products used in this document refer to IP Fast Dome, Video Server, or IP Camera. The terms of DVR devices/products refer to DVR device/products which are also capable of serving video streaming over Internet. MPEG-4 6 series DVRs refers to PDR-6160, PDR-6080, and PDR Before Using NVR Software NVR Software 2.2 supports multiple hard disk drives for recording. If overwritten setting is enabled, the oldest recorded video clips get deleted first. If you want logical partitions in your hard disk drive, please setup at least 20 GB for each drive. Furthermore, each logical drive should contain at least 10% empty space for storing video data. NVR Software 2.2 deletes the oldest files first until it reaches 90% of the logical drive, and it proceeds to the next logical hard disk drive for recording. On-line User Manual Help NVR Software 2.2 adopts Acrobat Reader for its on-line manual by clicking on the Help button. You must install Acrobat Reader before opening the on-line manual.
