Chapter 1: Upcoming Changes All commands containing the keyword prefix have been deprecated and replaced with corresponding subnet commands in the 4.0 release. The upcoming 5.0 release will completely remove the prefix commands from the CLI. Commands related to the administration of CNA agent devices (Axis SBC) will be removed in the 5.0 release due to the End of Sale/End of Support noticed issued on April 6, EFC collection via a SPAN/Monitor port will no longer be available in the 5.0 release therefore corresponding SPAN/Monitor commands will be removed. Both image and image-config backup operations will no longer be available in the 5.0 release. As such, the corresponding commands will be removed in the 5.0 release. 4 CNA Command Reference Guide Addendum, Version 4.1.2

Chapter 2: Commands This chapter describes the CLI commands for the product that were modified in this release. The commands are presented in alphabetical order. backup Syntax Creates a backup archive of the specified object(s). Arguments Prerequisites Description backup { { image image-config } [ notes <text> ] [ <url> ] } { system { all configuration { data { operational trend } } } <url> } text user-defined notes url destination archive location Must be in system-operations mode, with privileged-level access. The backup command can be used to create archival copies of the CNA image and/or configuration / data. Use the keyword image to back up the CNA image. Use the keyword image-config to back up the entire image plus startup configuration and, if they exist, SSL certification and SSH key files. Use the keyword notes, followed by a string of text, to add notes about the image being backed up. Enclose your text in double quotes if the text includes spaces. Your text will be displayed when you execute the show image command. Using image or image-config, the backup file will contain a complete snapshot of the CNA operating system. If you do not have sufficient space on either the target disk (if backing up to an external location) or the internal hard disk, the system will advise you of the amount you need to clear. Note: Image files which you create using the backup command will be significantly smaller Issue 1 December

by as much as 50 MB than upgrade images obtained directly from Avaya. These upgrade images contain installation-related files (the Java plug-in installers, for example) that are not included in a generated backup file. Use the system keyword to back up internal CNA information. This option is useful to perform hardware swaps such as server upgrades, hard disk replacements, etc. Note: All system archives consist of multiple files that are uploaded to a remote server (via scp, ftp, or http) for storage. The archive can be quite large over 3 GB when trend data is included. Ensure that there is enough storage space on the remote server prior to starting the backup. Also, generation and upload of these archives can take a long time to complete over 3 hours for large archives on slower connections. Because the archive can be so large, it is recommended that the backup be performed using a destination server on the same LAN. While the backup is running, the CLI session from where the backup was started will display progress. It is important that this session is not closed while the operation is running. Using the configuration keyword will cause CNA to generate an archive containing security keys and certificates, CNA startup configuration, Chatter configuration, and the user file system (including custom trend templates). Using the data operational keywords will cause CNA to generate an archive containing the command, event, and database logs as well as system reports. Using the data trend keywords will cause CNA to generate an archive containing the entire trending database. Using the all keyword will generate a complete system archive that can be used to migrate to a different hardware platform. It consists of the data saved by the configuration, data operational, and data trend keywords. All of the archive files created in a system backup are tagged with a hash to verify file integrity when a restore occurs. These files are not meant to be user-editable and should not be tampered with. Use the url argument to specify a target location either local to the device, or to a remote FTP, HTTP, or SCP location. System backups must be stored to a remote location. The url argument is optional with the image and image-config keywords. If you do not specify a target file, the system will name the file for you and place it in the local file system. See also ls, rename, restore, and show backup commands. 6 CNA Command Reference Guide Addendum, Version 4.1.2

restore Syntax Retrieves the specified object(s) from a backup. Arguments Prerequisites Description restore { cna-agent-device <ip address> } { { image image-config system } <url> } ip address the IP address of a url source archive location Must be in system-operations mode, with privileged-level access. The restore command restores an image or a system backup from an archival copy that was previously created with the backup command (the archive can contain the entire CNA image, the entire image plus startup configuration, or a set of system information). If you specify the image keyword when restoring a backup file that contains both operating system image and configurations, only the image will be extracted. If you specify the image-config keyword (instead of image, in the example) and the URL identifies an image you previously backed up with the backup command and image-config keyword, the configuration that was stored with the image when it was backed up will overwrite your existing startup config. If you specify image-config when restoring a backup file that contains only an image, the restore will succeed (with no action taken regarding the missing config). See the backup command description for information about saving a config with images during backup. When upgrading to an image downloaded from Avaya, be aware that those images do contain a startup config with minimal content. If you upgrade with the image-config keyword, CNA will be restored to an as-new condition. The image or image-config archive can be located either locally on CNA, or a remote location accessible by FTP or HTTP. The system archive is located at a remote location accessible by FTP, SCP, or HTTP. See the copy command for URL syntax. Issue 1 December

If you want to halt a restoration in progress, use Control-C (you may have to wait a few minutes and retry if the process is in the midst of a critical step and ignores the halt signal.) To restore an image from a remote device, you will need free disk space on CNA equal to twice the size of the stored object. Use the ls command to display the repository s current contents, including both the name of the object and the amount of space it occupies. To restore an image stored locally on CNA, you need free space equal to the size of the image. When you attempt to restore a file, the device will calculate the amount of space required and warn you if there is not enough space currently available. See the note about image size in the description of the backup command. During the image or image-config restoration process, progress is indicated by a display of dots that appear at intervals during the process, as shown in the following example: Checking hardware compatibility.. [OK] Managing local disk.. [OK] Verifying image.... [OK] Upgrading management [OK] Remote image (cna.img) was successfully restored Some advisory messages may be displayed between steps but, as long as the line ends with the text [OK], the restore will continue. If any other text is displayed inside the brackets, check the log for additional information. Dot pairs indicate completion of individual steps in the process. You can interrupt the restore process with the Control-C keys, but be aware that the intervals between display of dot pairs is not uniform and can take from a few seconds to several minutes. Also, while the number of dot pairs displayed for any one step is fixed, neither the number of dots nor the steps themselves are guaranteed to remain static from release to release. To restore a system archive specify the complete URL of the manifest XML file in the url parameter. Important: A system restore operation is service affecting. When the restore is started the system will be taken out-of-service (CNA processes such as decision-maker and medic will be shutdown). Once the operation is confirmed by the user, the CLI will only have a limited set of usable commands and the Viewer will be inoperable. A reload is the only way to restore full service. Therefore, system restore operations should only be executed during planned maintenance windows. During a system restore, progress is indicated by a series of Downloading and Restoring messages. It is important that the session from which the restore was started is not closed while the operation is in-progress. A prompt informing the user to reload indicates the restore 8 CNA Command Reference Guide Addendum, Version 4.1.2

operation has completed. To restore a different archive or check the status of the last restore, enter no at the reload prompt. If any of the archive files are corrupt or their integrity cannot be verified the restore will fail. Partial restoration is not permitted. A subsequent reload will bring the system back to the operational state it was in prior to the restore system invocation. See also the show restore command. show backup Syntax Displays the status of the backup system operation. Arguments Prerequisites Description show backup [ { include exclude begin } <exp> ] [ > <url> ] exp a regular express, to be used as a display filter url destination for output System-operations mode, with login-level access. The show backup command can be used to view the status of the last executed backup system operation. The output indicates the time the backup was executed, what type of archive was generated and status of the operation. Sample output is included below: CNA# show backup Mon Nov 24 16:01:58 UTC 2008 Last "backup system" Information: Start Time Type Overall Status Destination 2008_11_24-15:18:27 Configuration Complete ftp://avaya:******@server/pathtoarchive/ File Name Size(Byte) Status MD5Hash CNA_BKRST_10_1_1_1_Manifest.xm 2107 Complete dc733175f1cee23f19c4b4691ba6712d CNA_10_1_1_1_sys_cfg.tgz 1345 Complete a29fbcde9ae14a567734fb62148bdb22 CNA_10_1_1_1_cert_cfg.tgz Complete 8d9ef11fdefc7f44ac7da7ac193e3d3c CNA_10_1_1_1_chatter_cfg.tgz 2509 Complete 990d436365aa1c27729bccd3113d4800 CNA_10_1_1_1_ssh_cfg.tgz 1865 Complete 55bd2b35b52a95eb066a f749 Issue 1 December

Arguments Prerequisites Description show restore [ { include exclude begin } <exp> ] [ > <url> ] exp a regular express, to be used as a display filter url destination for output System-operations mode, with login-level access. The show restore command can be used to view the status of the last executed restore system operation. The output indicates the time the restore was executed, what type of archive was loaded and status of the operation. It also lists the files that comprise the archive along with their system generated hashes and individual status. After a restore, the system will be in Reload Pending state. This indicates that a restore has finished and the system needs to be reloaded in order to re-establish normal service. While in this state the user must verify each of the files display a status of Complete. This indicates the restore was successful. If any of the files do not list a status of Complete the restore should be attempted again or a different archive should be used.
