We are taking the University of Pega to new heights with the introduction of several new courses; TMF Getting Started, PMF Getting Started, PRPC Report Design, and PRPC User Interface Design! We encourage you to browse through the pages of this catalog to discover the courses we have recently introduced. Note, we now offer a variety of training course options that are shorter in length than our traditional five day offerings. As an example, in one day, students can learn the essentials of either our Test Management Framework (TMF) or our Project Management Framework (PMF). Also, in our one day PRPC Report Design course students learn how quickly and easily they can create reports to monitor performance and business processes. Our new three day PRPC User Interface Design provides students with hands-on opportunities to create a rich and extensive interface using the latest PRPC UI features and functions. Our Advanced courses take reusability and best practices to the next level and teach you how to develop and innovate Build for Change applications. Our CSSA and CLSA courses are available as elearning or Instructor-Led training enabling you to take the course in a format that best meets your schedule. Our Advanced courses teach customers and partners how to increase their PRPC skills to become Certified Senior and Lead System Architects. The CSSA and CLSA are offered each month and are designed to take Certified System Architects to new levels in their PRPC knowledge. We encourage you to take the Advanced courses and the certification exams to join the ranks of those who have achieved the highest PRPC certifications! We are pleased to introduce our Virtual Sandbox Training environment to address the need of 24/7 training. The Virtual Sandbox Training environment allows customers to connect to their PRPC lab environment via the cloud, using their own computers with a browser and an Internet connection. Our new elearning courses also provide our customers and partners access to training materials on their own time. Finally, our Pegasystems Professional Certification Program is pleased to announce the global release of the Certified CPM Architect exam. 3 Introductory Courses PRPC: Overview Overview PRPC Overview is a must for those who want to understand how to apply PRPC to their line of business to automate and track activities and achieve a greater return on investment. Through a combination of presentations and demonstrations students learn how work is automated in PRPC, how the Build for Change approach is used to develop an application, and how a solution can be designed for reuse across the enterprise. PRPC: Fast Track Overview Fast Track is for those who want to learn how to create PRPC solutions that will allow users to dynamically manage complex processes with our Build for Change technology. Students begin by extending an application to learn the basic PRPC core competencies. Then students learn how to capture requirements using the Application Profile wizard, and use the Application Accelerator to automate the creation of requirements. Through an iterative development process, students create a new application by defining properties, modifying the user interface, and creating business rules and processes. Audience System Architects/Developers who will be creating PRPC solutions. This course is not recommended for business users Prerequisites Application development experience; Knowledge of your business processes, best practices, and policies; Familiarity with project methodologies Length 5 days Pegasystems Professional Certification Program Completion of PRPC Fast Tack satisfies the first eligibility requirement for the Certified System Architect (CSA) exam. 6 PRPC: Bootcamp Overview PRPC Bootcamp is for those who have attended PRPC Fast Track and want to now focus on building applications for reuse that solve complex business problems. Using the capabilities in PRPC, students work in teams in an experiential learning environment to design and build for reusability across multiple lines of business. Working from business requirements specified in an Application Profile document, students build an application that extends their PRPC knowledge in the areas of user interface design and development, advanced activities, reporting design and development, and integration. Using an iterative development approach, students completely build and test each component until the component test is successful and then move onto the next component. Audience System Architects and Technical Developers who will be creating solutions to solve complex business problems. This course is not recommended for business users. Prerequisites Completion of PRPC Fast Track and knowledge of your organization s business processes Length 5 days Pegasystems Professional Certification Program Completion of PRPC Fast Tack satisfies the first eligibility requirement for the Certified System Architect (CSA) exam. PRPC Bootcamp is the final requirement for the CSA exam. PRPC: Directly Capture Objectives Overview This course is for those who are interested in learning the details of and best practices when using Direct Capture of Objectives (DCO) tools. DCO tools allow resources to capture business specifics and use them to create an application baseline with Build for Change technology. DCO tools can be used with any project and with any methodology ensuring that the starting point is correctly created and documented. The documentation process continues as the application is built. Students learn how to use the tools to capture business specifics, size the project, create the application baseline and document the project. 7 PRPC: Report Design NEW Overview Our new PRPC Report Design course is for those that want to create reports quickly and easily. Students learn how to access and leverage out-of-thebox PRPC reports to monitor the performance and quality of business processes. Students learn how to easily create their own reports that display lists, summaries, and interactive charts of the information stored in the PRPC database. Many advanced topics are covered in which students learn how to use formatting and display options, embed reports in sections and flows, and provide user interactivity with features such as Smart Info and drill down. Audience Business Analysts or System Architects with a minimum of two months of hands-on PRPC development experience Prerequisites PRPC Business Architect Essentials and PRPC Fast Track Length 1 day PRPC: User Interface Design NEW Overview This new course is for those responsible for developing the User Interface and provides student with the opportunity to create a rich, extensive user interface using the latest PRPC UI features. Through hands-on exercises and case studies this course teaches students how to design and develop effective user interfaces. Students also gain a deeper understanding of how an intent and model driven PRPC UI functions. In support of the hands on exercises, students use a number of standard PRPC UI features and widgets. Through the extensible UI toolkit and the UI navigation templates provided in PRPC, students learn how to create and extend the user interface, producing a rich and guardrail-compliant user experience. 8 CPM: Implementing Your Solution Overview This course is for those who need to design and implement a Customer Process Manager (CPM) solution for their multi-channel contact center. Students configure CPM interactions and service processes and learn best practices for functions such as dialog management, campaigns, quality reviews and coaching, and knowledge management. Then students learn how CPM integrates with legacy systems and Pega products. In addition, students evaluate a sample CPM application to determine if it meets best practices and then prioritize the business objectives and make improvements to the application. Strategy Director (SD): Workshop Overview This hands-on course is for the person who focuses on using the Decision Planner and constructing decision logic with the Strategy Director. Students also test the decision logic, run simulations (Data Awareness), generate data dictionaries from database tables, use vocabularies and real-time controls. The course is presented in the context of different scenarios to facilitate learning. Audience System Architects with experience building PRPC applications. 9 Recommendation Advisor (RA): Fast Track Overview This hands-on course is for those responsible for planning, designing, deploying and monitoring the customer experience to use the Decision Management tools. This course is also extremely valuable for any business user who wants to have a deep, functional hands-on experience to learn how to drive all Decision Management components. The focus in is on real-time marketing applications powered by Recommendation Advisor. Considerable attention is given to understanding the Decision Logic used by Recommendation Advisor and how that logic might be customized. 10 Advanced Courses PRPC: System Administration Overview As a System Administrator or Operations support staff member you are responsible for maintaining the health of systems installed in your enterprise. Our system administration and performance analysis tools help System Administrators proactively manage and tune PRPC applications. This hands-on course teaches you how to use out-of-the-box (OOTB) PRPC tools to deploy, monitor, and maintain your PRPC implementation. You will learn about the architecture of PRPC, how to install PRPC, configure the environment, and deploy PRPC applications. Once a PRPC application is deployed, you will also learn how to use the System Management tools to monitor all Process Commander nodes and respond to problems highlighted by key system health indicators across the enterprise. The curriculum provides instructor-led training by a Certified Senior System Architect and hands-on exercises where students have the opportunity to practice what they learn. Audience System Architects/Developers who will use PRPC to design and build for reusability across multiple lines of business. Prerequisites Certified System Architect Length 10 days Pegasystems Professional Certification Program Completion of the SSA Immersion course satisfies the eligibility requirement for the Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) exam. Lead System Architect Immersion Overview The Lead System Architect (LSA) Immersion Program is an intensive four week program led by a coach / mentor that expands the PRPC concepts students learned in the Senior System Architect (SSA) program and concentrates on using those skills to build and design a PRPC application that follows the Build for Change concept. Students build several applications based on real-world scenarios. Each scenario is more difficult than the previous one enabling students to gain the necessary skills to achieve the LSA knowledge and certification. The curriculum is led by a coach / mentor who is a Certified Lead System Architect and who has years of PRPC experience. Audience Certified Senior System Architects who are ready to extend their knowledge Prerequisites Certified Senior System Architect with three to six months field experience Length 4 weeks of classroom instruction followed by 2 remote weeks Pegasystems Professional Certification Program Completion of the LSA Immersion course satisfies the eligibility requirement for the Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) exam. 11
