7 Supported Products and Platforms 2 Supported Products and Platforms This version is applicable to the following products: Product Name CP I Description Quasar Gen III CP-6302 camera is an indoor/outdoor Full HD IR PTZ IP camera that supports up to four streams with H.265, H.264 and MJPEG compression. It includes audio-in, audio-out, alarm-in, and alarm-out connections, and a microsd drive. United VMS 7.0 LU 5782 and higher Latitude/Horizon/Meridian update and above. United VMS 8.0 LU 6102 and higher Latitude/Horizon/Meridian update and above. DNA or higher Utility required for initial discovery of the camera on networks without a DHCP server. Download latest version of DNA from here. Download the DNA User Manual from here. Note: 1. To discover the CP-6302 camera in Latitude/Horizon/Meridian, select the DVTel Quasar Gen II option for the Unit Type in the Admin Center discovery. 2. 9 Key Features 3 Key Features The Quasar Gen IIII CP-6302 IR Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) camera provides real-time video with highdefinition quality at Full HD 1080p. The camera features up to 30x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom; IR LED illumination up to 200 meters (656 feet); gyro-based electronic image stabilization; servo feedback for precise preset positioning; and Multi-Shutter/True WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) at frames rates up to 50/60 fps. In addition, the camera includes the following key features: 3.1 Quad-Streaming IP Video The CP-6302 camera supports up to four streams simultaneously (three on UVMS) with H.265, H.264 or MJPEG compression. 3.2 Audio-In/Out, Alarm-In/Out, and SD Card Drive The camera includes one audio-in, one audio-out, four alarm-in, and two alarm-out connections. The SD card drive supports a microsdxc card up to 128GB (card not included), enabling storage of recordings and snapshots. 3.3 Superior Low-Light Performance The cameras include Shutter WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) mode, True Day/Night IR Cut filter, and as an infrared LED illuminator that deliver superior sensitivity in low-light scenes.. UVMS > Latitude AdminCenter > Only the first two streams are configurable after changing the camera's TV format. Audio is not supported when the camera is set to Multicast. UVMS > Occasionally, a camera set as Shutter WDR 2 (NTSC) in the Camera > Exposure screen is discovered with default two streams (D1 at 15 fps and 1080p at 30 fps) instead of three. When connected via RS-485 to an encoder and using the Pelco D protocol, the camera may move slowly. The exposure mode is set to P Iris Priority upon camera movement or rebooting. On a PAL system, when the camera is set on PAL 50 fps mode, the user is unable to set a frame rate higher than 25 fps. When the Minimum Shutter Speed is set to 1/30 or 1/25 (NTSC or PAL, respectively), the frame rate in low light conditions may decline to 15 or 12 fps instead of remaining at full frame rate. Create the presets on the camera and then on the encoder. Change the camera s TV format in the UI to the desired setting before attaching it to Latitude. Set the camera to Unicast. 1. In AdminCenter, from the Video Settings tab, set a recorded stream of 720p at 30 fps. Click Save and leave the scene. 2. Return to the scene and check the Recorded quality same as live check box. Click Save and leave the scene. Contact FLIR Support to receive a patch to correct this. P-iris Priority is the recommended exposure setting. January 28, 2018 Quasar Gen III FW v Release Notes 7

13 Firmware Upgrade Procedure 5 Firmware Upgrade Procedure The camera s firmware can be updated by using the Discovery Network Assistant (DNA) tool or over the web from the unit s web interface. It is recommended to use DNA firmware version or higher to upgrade from a previous firmware version. 5.1 Upgrading with DNA To perform the firmware upgrade 1. If the camera is connected to United VMS, stop the Latitude services. 2. Run DNA and perform the firmware upgrade according to instructions in the DNA User Manual. Download the manual from here. 3. If the camera was connected to United VMS, restart the Latitude services. 5.2 Upgrading from the Camera s Web Interface To perform the firmware upgrade 1. From the Settings tab, select System > Maintenance > Software Upgrade. 2. Click Browse. 3. Select the upgrade file (for example, Image_userland_all_ ). 4. Select uimage+userland.img from the Step 2 drop-down menu. 5. Click Upgrade. The camera loads the firmware and reboots. 5.3 PelcoD Upgrade Firmware When connected via RS-485 to an encoder while using the PelcoD protocol, the camera may move slowly. 15 United VMS Compatibility 6 United VMS Compatibility The firmware was approved for United VMS and United VMS or higher support. It is necessary to install an Update Patch in order for the unit to operate with United VMS 7.0 and United VMS United VMS 7.0 and United VMS 8.0 Update Patch To install the Update Patch Download the Update Patch for your VMS (United VMS or United VMS ). Run the file on every server and workstation in the system. Upgrade the Directory/EDB. Upgrade each Archiver. After all the servers are upgraded, upgrade the workstations using the method below. In the United VMS client application, from the Help tab, select the Check for Updates option. A popup opens, indicating that there is an update to download from the Update server. Select Yes to download the update file. A popup appears on the screen. Click Install. The installation may take several minutes. January 28, 2018 Quasar Gen III FW v Release Notes 11

17 Appendix Appendix A.1. Discovering and Configuring the Camera with DNA DNA or higher is required for the initial discovery of the camera on networks without a DHCP server. DNA is also used to access the camera and to change its IP address. DNA can be downloaded from here on the FLIR website.
