1 TITLE SB NAVIGATION - COLLINS IFIS 6.0 SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATES EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 525A (CJ2+) thru -0416, thru REASON The equivalent of this service bulletin has been incorporated on production airplanes and and On. XM graphical weather: To install IFIS 6.0 which updates the XM graphical weather application to add lightning, winds aloft, satellite imagery, and graphical TFR's and edge to edge capabilities and cross-pointer selection to the displays. Universal weather: To install IFIS 6.0 which updates the adaptive flight displays to give edge to edge capabilities and cross-pointer selection to the displays. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides parts and instructions to install IFIS 6.0 Graphical Weather and an upgraded PFD and MFD. COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service bulletin can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Cessna Aircraft Company is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Cessna-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Cessna Aircraft Company. This information is an amendment to the applicable maintenance manual. 3 SB ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prior to the airplane arriving at the installing maintenance facility. A. Find the encryption application key(s) (EAK). NOTE: The EAK was delivered with the airplane as loose equipment. The EAK must be entered to disable the graphical weather, electronic charts and enhanced maps features. B. Contact Citation Parts Distribution Avionics Team at or fax to with the ECU part number ( ) and serial number if you cannot find the encryption application key(s). NOTE: The Citation Parts Distribution Avionics Team will send all applicable EAK to you, if the EAK are not found in the loose equipment. Please allow two to three days to receive the EAKs. Component Encryption Application Key (EAK) Serial Number ECU Graphical Weather Electronic Charts * Enhanced Maps * * The electronic charts and enhanced maps are additional features that may not be installed on each airplane. 2. Disable the graphical weather. NOTE: The graphical weather feature must be disabled before the new graphical weather software will load. A. Apply external electrical power to the airplane. B. Move the battery switch to the BATT position. C. Move avionics power switch to the AVN PWR position. D. Wait five minutes before starting the next step. E. Push the DATABASE button on the cursor control panel. F. Push the MENU button to display the IFIS information on the MFD. G. Rotate the MENU ADV knob on the cursor control panel until FILE SERVER CONFIGURATION is selected. H. Push the PUSH SELECT button on the cursor control panel. I. Make sure that the FILES SERVER CONFIGURATION page is displayed. J. Record the ECU serial number. K. Make sure that the ENTER KEYS field is highlighted. L. Push the PUSH SELECT button on the cursor control panel. M. Enter the EAK for the XM graphical weather in the highlighted field. Page 3

4 SB N. Push the PUSH SELECT to enter the EAK. O. Wait for the KEY ACCEPTED message. P. WaitfortheCYCLEFSUPOWERTOCOMPLETESOFTWAREUPDATESmessageatthebottom of the MFD. Q. Disengage the FSU circuit breaker on the right circuit breaker panel. R. Wait for the CCP INOP message to appear on the MFD. S. Engage the FSU circuit breaker. T. Make sure that the GWX-3000/5000 status is DISABLED and CONFIG UPDATE message are displayedonthemfd. NOTE: It may take several minutes before the status changes and configuration update message appears. 3. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem. 4. Remove the PFD 1, PFD 2, and MFD. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins Pro Line 21 Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) - Maintenance Practices.) 5. Send the PFD 1, PFD 2, and MFD to Cessna for upgrade. NOTE: Operators: The existing PFD 1, PFD 2, and MFD can be modified. Contact the Citation Parts Distribution (CPD) avionics team to schedule modification at or telefax or CPDAvionicsteam@cessna.textron.com. This modification will require advance notification. The CPD avionics team will schedule the units and arrange for their return. Please allow five to seven days for modification. This service bulletin may not be signed off as completed unless the units are scheduled through the CPD avionics team. 6. Install the upgraded PFD 1, PFD 2, and MFD. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins Pro Line 21 Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) - Maintenance Practices.) 7. Apply external electrical power. A. Apply external electrical power to the airplane. B. Move the battery switch to the BATT position. C. Move avionics power switch to the AVN PWR position. D. Wait five minutes before the starting the next step. 8. Do the test that follows for PFD 1, PFD 2, and MFD. A. Remove access panel 212BR. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description and Operation.) B. RemovetheIAPScardcagecover. C. Do the preliminary test. (1) Make sure that all circuit breakers are engaged. (2) Make sure that the two groups of green LED's in the IAPS show green and there are no red LED's on. Page 4

5 SB (3) Disengage the L-IAPS, R-IAPS, DCP-1, DCP-2, FMS 1 CDU, ADC 1, ADC 2, AHRS 1, AHRS 1 STBY, AHRS 2, and AHRS 2 STBY circuit breakers. (4) Set the STBY FLT DISPLAY switch to the ON position. (5) Make sure that the appropriate dimming knobs control the intensity level of the applicable bezels, instruments or annunciators. (6) Turn the STBY FLIGHT DISPLAY switch to the OFF position. (7) Disengage the MFD PRI, MFD POWER and MFD HTR circuit breakers. (8) Make sure the PFD 1, PFD 1 HTR, PFD 2, PFD 2 HTR circuit breakers are engaged. (9) Make sure the PFD FAIL indicators are shown on both the pilot's and copilot's PFD's. (a) FDREDIndicators-DCP,IAS,ALT,VS,FD,ATT,HDGandRA. (b) PFD YELLOW Indicators - XTLK, TCAS FAIL, GPWS. (c) PFD CYAN Indicators - Rockwell Collins copyright logo shows momentarily then clears (on first power up) and is found at the bottom half, center of the PFD. (10) Engage both DCP and all MFD circuit breakers. (11) Make sure that the red DCP Fail indicators are removed from both PFDs. (12) Make sure the PFD is in the ARC format. D. Do the DCP-3030 display control panel RANGE knob test. (1) Turn the RANGE knob on the pilot's DCP-3030 Display Control Panel. (a) Make sure that the white Range readouts on the PFD 1 compass display can be increased clockwise and decreased counterclockwise when the RANGE knob is turned. (2) Push the REFS button and make sure the REFS1/3, REFS2/3 or REFS3/3 menu page shows on the PFD. (3) Push the REFS button three times to make sure the next REFS pages are shown. (a) Push the REFS button a fourth time to remove the page from the PFD 1. (4) Turn the RANGE knob on the copilot's DCP-3030 Display Control Panel. (a) Make sure that the white Range readouts on the PFD 2 compass display can be increased clockwise and decreased counterclockwise by turning the RANGE knob. (5) Push the REFS button. (a) Make sure REFS1/3, REFS2/3 and REFS3/3 menu pages are shown on the PFD 2. (6) Push the REFS button three times to make sure the next REFS pages are shown. (a) Push the REFS button a fourth time to remove the page from the PFD 1. E. Dothedatatransmissiontest. (1) Engage the MFD PRI, MFD POWER and MFD HTR circuit breakers. (2) Disengage the L DCU PRI, L DCU SEC, R DCU PRI, R DCU SEC, and AHRS 1 circuit breakers. (a) Make sure the yellow XLTK FAIL indicator is removed from the PFDs. (b) Make sure the MFD FAIL indicators that follow are shown: 1 MFD RED indicator - HDG. 2 MFD YELLOW indicator - Dashes are shown in engine digital readouts. Page 5

6 SB 9. (Airplanes with XM weather) Load the IFIS 6.0 software. A. Move the MAINTENANCE switch to the MAINT position. NOTE: Moving the MAINTENANCE switch to the MAINT position will move the engine information from the MFD to each PFD. B. Load the IFIS 6.0 software with the DBU NOTE: It may be necessary to load V-speeds and other features if this bulletin is done in conjunction with the WAAS or DBU-5000 installations. (1) Transfer the data on the IFIS 6.0 Disk to a DBU-5000 compatible portable USB memory device. (2) MakesurethattheDBU-5000LEDlightsaregreen. NOTE: The portable USB memory device should not be inserted into the DBU-5000 until the status lights are green. The DBU-5000 may corrupt the files on the portable USB memory device if they are inserted with the status lights yellow or flashing yellow. (3) Insert the portable USB memory device into the DBU NOTE: The DBU-5000 will check each portable USB memory device as they are inserted. A green status light indicates that the files are compatible and the DBU-5000 is ready to load. A red status light indicates the DBU-5000 has failed or the files on the portable USB memory device are not compatible. (4) Select the AFIS/DBU status page on the FMS. (5) Push the line select key next to AVAILABLE LRU. (6) Push the line select key next to UPDATE LIST. (7) Wait for the DBU-5000 to search the portable USB memory device. (8) Push the line select key next to NODE. (9) Push the line select key next to FSU. (10) Load all of the software that was added to the portable USB storage device. (11) Make sure that each selected file loads correctly. (12) Move avionics power switch to the AVN PWR position. (13) Remove the portable USB memory device. C. Load the IFIS 6.0 software with CPAS (1) Connect the laptop with CPAS software to the airplane. (2) Start the CPAS program. (3) Select Manage Data/Software. (4) Import data from the FSA CD. NOTE: There are 2 files/part numbers on the CD. One file name is the same as the FSA part number. This file will go into the FSU. The other filename will go into the NODE. (5) Select DATALOAD when import is done. (6) Select Refresh Targets. (7) Select NODE from the target list. (8) Select the file identified as being for the NODE from the file list. (9) Start Load. Page 6

7 SB (10) Select FSU from the target list after the load is complete. (11) Select the file identified as being for the FSU from the file list. (12) Start Load. (13) Exit CPAS after load is complete. (14) Check the Database Effectivity page. NOTE: Wait until the fault messages clear and that the page has rebuilt with a complete database list in view (electronic charts, electronic maps, and graphical weather will have dashes for dates). (15) After you get the list, start CPAS. (a) Load the databases for electronic charts, electronic maps, and graphical weather. (b) Exit CPAS after load is complete. NOTE: Wait for the FSU to reboot. (16) Go to the Chart Subscription page and enter the chart subscriptions if needed. (17) Press the DATABASE or STAT button to return to normal operation. 10. (Airplanes with Universal weather) Load the IFIS 6.0 software. A. Move the MAINTENANCE switch to the MAINT position. NOTE: Moving the MAINTENANCE switch to the MAINT position will move the engine information from the MFD to each PFD. B. Load the IFIS 6.0 software with the DBU NOTE: It may be necessary to load V-speeds and other features if this bulletin is done in conjunction with the WAAS or DBU-5000 installations. (1) Transfer the data on the IFIS 6.0 Disk to a DBU-5000 compatible portable USB memory device. (2) Make sure that the DBU-5000 LED lights are green. NOTE: The portable USB memory device should not be inserted into the DBU-5000 until the status lights are green. The DBU-5000 may corrupt the files on the portable USB memory device if they are inserted with the status lights yellow or flashing yellow. (3) Insert the portable USB memory device into the DBU NOTE: The DBU-5000 will check each portable USB memory device as they are inserted. A green status light indicates that the files are compatible and the DBU-5000 is ready to load. A red status light indicates the DBU-5000 has failed or the files on the portable USB memory device are not compatible. (4) Select the AFIS/DBU status page on the FMS. (5) Push the line select key next to AVAILABLE LRU. (6) Push the line select key next to UPDATE LIST. (7) Wait for the DBU-5000 to search the portable USB memory device. (8) Push the line select key next to NODE. (9) Push the line select key next to FSU. (10) Load all of the software that was added to the portable USB storage device. (11) Make sure that each selected file loads correctly. (12) Move avionics power switch to the AVN PWR position. Page 7

8 SB (13) Remove the portable USB memory device. C. Load the IFIS 6.0 software with CPAS (1) Connect the laptop with CPAS software to the airplane. (2) Start the CPAS program. (3) Select Manage Data/Software. (4) Import data from the FSA CD. NOTE: There are 2 files/part numbers on the CD. One file name is the same as the FSA part number. This file will go into the FSU. The other filename will go into the NODE. (5) Select DATALOAD when import is done. (6) Select Refresh Targets. (7) Select NODE from the target list. (8) Select the file identified as being for the NODE from the file list. (9) Start Load. (10) Select FSU from the target list after the load is complete. (11) Select the file identified as being for the FSU from the file list. (12) Start Load. (13) Exit CPAS after load is complete. (14) Check the Database Effectivity page. NOTE: Wait until the fault messages clear and that the page has rebuilt with a complete database list in view (electronic charts, electronic maps, and graphical weather will have dashes for dates). (15) After you get the list, start CPAS. (a) Load the databases for electronic charts, electronic maps, and graphical weather. (b) Exit CPAS after load is complete. NOTE: Wait for the FSU to reboot. (16) Go to the Chart Subscription page and enter the chart subscriptions if needed. (17) Press the DATABASE or STAT button to return to normal operation. 11. Enter the EAK(s). A. Push the DATABASE button on the cursor control panel. B. PushtheMENUbuttontodisplaytheIFISinformationontheMFD. C. Rotate the MENU ADV knob on the cursor control panel until FILE SERVER CONFIGURATION is selected. D. Push the PUSH SELECT button on the cursor control panel. E. Make sure that the FILES SERVER CONFIGURATION page is displayed. F. Enter EAK as necessary. (1) Make sure that the ENTER KEYS field is highlighted. (2) Push the PUSH SELECT button on the cursor control panel. (3) Enter the EAK for the XM or Universal graphical weather in the highlighted field. (4) Push the PUSH SELECT to enter the EAK. Page 8

9 SB (5) Wait for the KEY ACCEPTED message. (6) Wait for the CYCLE FSU POWER TO COMPLETE SOFTWARE UPDATES message at the bottom of the MFD. (7) Disengage the FSU circuit breaker on the right circuit breaker panel. (8) Wait for the CCP INOP message to appear on the MFD. (9) Engage the FSU circuit breaker. (10) Make sure that the status is ENABLED for the option EAK that was entered and CONFIG UPDATE message are displayed on the MFD. NOTE: It may take several minutes before the status changes and configuration update message appears. (11) Do this step again to enter additional EAK(s). 12. Make sure that the IFIS 6.0 and enabled options work correctly. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Integrated Flight Information System - Adjustment/Test.) 13. Install the IAPS card cage cover. 14. Install any access panels that were removed to complete this service bulletin. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description and Operation.) 15. Update the Model 525A CJ2+ FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (525AFMA). NOTE: Look at the configuration codes listed in the applicable supplement and/or in Section 1 of the FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual to make sure all changed crew procedures or limitations are complied with. A. Insert Supplement 6, Revision 1 or later into the Model 525A CJ2+ FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (525AFMA). 16. Record that this service bulletin has been completed. A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook. C.
