1 Description The Meridian CV & CV-EX Control Systems are designed as an alternative to multiple programmable thermostats or expensive building automation systems in facilities that have unitary type, HVAC units. Using the System Manager interface panel, the user can program and monitor up to 120 HVAC units. Each HVAC unit is controlled by a microprocessor based, stand alone CV controller that is connected, via an RS-485 communications network, to the System Manager. The CV & CV-EX systems are easy to set-up and program using the System Managers membrane keypad and four line by twenty character LCD, backlighted display. Menu driven programming, using English language descriptors, makes set-up and monitoring very user friendly. Included with the CV or CV-EX system is a communications interface module that allows you to connect a personal computer to the system onsite and a modem connection for remote monitoring. ZoneView AZ, a Windows based software package is available at no additional charge. Meridian is a new approach to providing simple, cost effective, control solutions to many standard unitary HVAC systems. Meridian provides a very competitive controls solution for buildings that require more control than a programmable room thermostat will provide yet are not budgeted for full building automation systems. All system variables, setpoints and values can be viewed and modified via the keypad and display. The System Manager is mounted in an attractive plastic enclosure suitable for wall mounting. A four line by 20 character, backlighted LCD display is easy to read even in low light environments. The Constant Volume controller is designed to operate single zone HVAC units. Up to 30 standalone CV controllers can be connected to the standard Meridian CV network to provide a fully integrated control system. The standard Meridian CV-EX system provides for 60 CV controllers and an additional 30 controllers per loop expansion kit for a total CV-EX system maximum of 120 with (2) loop expansion kits. The CV controller operates fan, heating, cooling, and economizer functions. Additional standalone features also include time scheduling, night set back, trend logging of space and supply air temperatures, and automatic changeover. Drybulb economizer control is available via an analog 0-10 VDC output from the CV controller. An optional Wetbulb Module (OE782) is available to provide wetbulb calculations for maximum economizer efficiency. The Zone Sensor is a patented design, flush wall mounted sensor. A special plate on the face of the sensor accurately samples space conditions, yet rejects the influence of internal wall temperatures. The sensor comes in four models Sensor only Sensor w/ push button override Sensor w setpoint adjustment Sensor w/ override and setpoint adjustment Each Zone Sensor setpoint adjustment is programmable from 0 to ±5 via the System Manager. The MiniLink provides loop expansion capability for the CV-EX control system. Each MiniLink enables an additional 30 controllers to be connected to the system allowing up to a maximum of 120 controllers per CV-EX system. The CommLink II provides an intelligent highspeed computer/modem interface for the Meridian CV or CV-EX control system.
