4 4 Release Notes LAW PreDiscovery 6.11 Release Notes July 6, 2016 Version The LAW PreDiscovery Release Notes provide a list of new features, resolved issues, and known issues in LAW PreDiscovery version The current issues may be addressed in an update or other future release of LAW PreDiscovery. What s New What s Resolved Current Issues Release Information You can subscribe to an RSS feed that announces releases and updates for LAW PreDiscovery and Early Data Analyzer. The URL for the RSS feed is: The following procedures for Outlook 2010 are provided for your convenience. For other RSS subscription applications, consult respective documentation for the application. To create a feed subscription via Microsoft Outlook 2010 Perform either of the following: 1.Right-click RSS Feeds in navigation pane. 2.Choose Add a New RSS Feed. 3.Paste the above link into the New RSS Feed dialog that appears. 4.Click Add. Or 1.Click File > Account Settings > Account Settings. 2.Click on the RSS Feeds tab. 3.Click New. 4.Paste the above link into the New RSS Feed dialog that appears. 5.Click Add. 6.Click Close. In Outlook, any notifications will appear in the RSS Feeds area of the navigation pane.

5 LAW PreDiscovery 6.11 Release Notes 5 Enhancements LAW PreDiscovery Enhancements - LAW PreDiscovery The following enhancements are added to LAW PreDiscovery version : Batch processing The Synchronize Header/Footer settings for all types check box has been added to the Separator Page Options dialog box. When enabled, the header and footer information you enter in the Header and Footer sections of the Separator Page Options dialog box are applied to the separator page headers and footers across all file types. dtsearch dtsearch has been updated from version 7.79 to version Importing cases You can now import subsets of another LAW case by choosing a specific tag to filter on within the imported LAW case. Additionally, you can browse to and import cases that do not appear in your case list. You can now filter imported documents by tag. Go to File, Import, and then click LAW Case. Select (or browse to) the case to import. Select the Filter By Tag option and then select the tag from the drop down menu. You can include parent/attachments of tagged documents by selecting the Include Parent/attachments option. Resolved Issues LAW PreDiscovery Resolved Issues - LAW PreDiscovery

6 6 Release Notes The following reported issues are resolved in LAW PreDiscovery version : Batch processing We have corrected an issue related to splitting PDF files by bookmarks. LAW PreDiscovery was displaying TIFF files in the image extension column but not retaining the TIFF image. Image extensions are now cleared after splitting PDFs based on bookmarks and the TIFF images are retained. ICS body content is now captured during the batch TIFF process. LAW PreDiscovery no longer places "UNKNOWN" in the header during the batch TIFF process for MSG files. The batch TIFF process can now produce TIFF images of VCF files that contain Chinese characters. ED Loader We have corrected an issue that was preventing ED Loader from properly processing EML files. Exporting We have addressed an issue that caused an error when exporting raw images with LZW compression. Text encoding settings have been improved to prevent Unicode settings from corrupting files in LAW. Extraction Documents embedded in RTF files are now extracted upon ingestion. We have corrected an issue that caused random text files to be generated in the $EDD folder. If there are issues when extracting RAR files that have embedded ZIP files, an error message will be displayed. Deletion When s were deleted from LAW PreDiscovery, the body of the was not being removed. This issue has been corrected. Hashing The contents of the Attach field have been corrected. It now points to the correct filename and path. This correction resolves an issue that was affecting the MD5 hash for NSF files with inline attachments. Installer

7 Resolved Issues 7 The MSXML.DLL has been removed from the installer and Profile Manager. Import We have corrected an issue that was preventing import when the regional locale was set to Japan. Importing s with HTML into LAW PreDiscovery no longer converts the to a webpage. The native format of the is now maintained. Licensing We have corrected an issue that caused an error when you changed the license server in the LAW Profile Manager. The option to refresh the license from the internet is no longer enabled under the server key menu when you are connecting through a software license. Virus detection We have removed a signature in a file that was being flagged by McAfee Antivirus as a potential issue. The signature was verified as harmless and removed from the file to prevent further warnings from McAfee. Current Issues LAW PreDiscovery Current Issues - LAW PreDiscovery The following items are current issues in LAW PreDiscovery version : Installation Install the correct version of Microsoft Visual C++ before installing LAW PreDiscovery. See the Microsoft Knowledge Base article "Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows" for the download and instructions. Be aware that the LAW PreDiscovery installer attempts to install all Microsoft Visual C++ prerequisites, including: Microsoft Visual C SP1 (x86) Microsoft Visual C SP1 (x86) Microsoft Visual C SP1 (x64) - on 64-bit machines only

8 8 Release Notes Microsoft Visual C Update 4 (x86) Microsoft Visual C Update 4 (x64) - on 64-bit machines only Microsoft Visual C Update 2 (x86) Microsoft Visual C Update 2 (x64) - on 64-bit machines only The LAW PreDiscovery installer may hang when it attempts to install "Microsoft Visual C Update 2 Redistributable Package (x86)" or Microsoft Visual C Update 2 Redistributable Package (x64)" even if you have installed it prior to the LAW PreDiscovery installation.. If this occurs, abort the installation, reinstall the update from the Microsoft Knowledge Base article "Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows", and rerun the LAW PreDiscovery installer. Antivirus AVG Antivirus software may misidentify LawReportLib.dll as malware. EasyPDF and Internet Explorer 11 Text can become illegible on images of MHTML messages tiffed using EasyPDF and Internet Explorer 11. ED Loader Custom page level field values are not carried over as expected when importing a LAW PreDiscovery case into another LAW PreDiscovery case. IMPAI sesson An error condition with the IMAPI session may be reported when processing more than 50,000 s to HTML/MHT. The error message reports that items have been processed as edocs. Importing mailstores Scanning may stop unexpectedly when importing mailstores larger than 64 GB consisting of large nested PSTs (>7 GB). LAW Management Console The font selected for endorsments on the LAW Management Console host computer may revert to the default font on worker computers. Native-only export An error condition can occur when exporting using the option to include natives only for tagged documents. This happens for all documents that do not have a value in the

9 Current Issues custom field used as the file naming scheme for natives. Persistent Tag Hits The Persist Tag Hits setting can cause words to be separated by a semicolon.
