1 Wind Speed and Direction Logger Kit Below are the 3 main components of the Wind Speed and Direction logger that is the Hobo Micro Station data logger, Hoboware 2.6 software for weather station applications and the Hobo wind speed and direction smart sensor. 2 Micro Station Logger The Micro Station logger can be user configured with up to four plug in smart sensors, it automatically recorgnises each optional sensor. This logger can log over 500,000 measurements and will operate for up to one year using four AA batteries. Operating temperature range -20 C to 50 C with alkaline batteries. Sensor inputs up to 4 smart sensors. Communication via RS232 interface, down load time approximately 6 minutes for full 512KB memory offload with Box Car Pro 4.3. Weight 0.5kg approximately. Memory 512KB nonvolatile data storage, number of measurements depends on number of sensors used. Stores over one half million measurements. Memory modes: stop when full, wrap around when full. LED s provide logging and network status. Logging interval 1 second to 9 hours, user specified. Battery life typical 1 year (up to 4 sensors with 10 minutes or longer logging interval) Time accuracy 0 to 2 seconds for the 1 st data point and ±3 seconds per C. Data type: Supports measurement averaging based upon availability of supporting data from sensor Logger start mode: immediate, push button or delayed start options. 3 HoboWare Software The Hoboware software is the next generation software for data logging management, data graphing and data analysis. This totally new Hoboware for Windows supports all HOBO U series loggers including the Micro Station. This software incorporates valuable new capabilities such as scaling data to sensor units and saving graphs so they can be recalled and used in the future. In addition Hoboware Pro includes post processing assistants for growing degree days and grains per pound. 4 Hobo Wind Speed & Direction Smart Sensor The combination Wind Speed/Direction smart sensor provides average wind speed, highest 3 second wind gust and average wind direction in the measurement interval. Designed with a large surface area for high sensitivity, this wind speed/direction smart sensor offers high accuracy at an affordable price. It is designed to work with the Hobo micro station data logger. Measurement parameters: average wind speed, highest three second wind gust, average wind direction. Constructed from a combination of fiberglass reinforced injection molded thermoplastic, anodised aluminium, and stainless steel parts, suitable for operation in adverse environments. Measurement range: Wind speed gust 0-44m/s, Wind direction dead band. Accuracy: Wind speed gust ±0.5m/s, ±3% 17-30m/s, ±4% 30-47m/s.
