1 SAS Viya 3.2 Administratin: Mbile Devices Mbile Devices: Overview As an administratr, yu can manage a device s access t SAS Mbile BI, either by exclusin r inclusin. If yu manage by exclusin, all devices can use the mbile reprting applicatin, except thse that are n the blacklist. If yu manage by inclusin, nly devices that are n the whitelist can use the mbile reprting applicatin. SAS Mbile BI enables users t view certain types f relatinal reprts n ipad, iphne, and Andrid devices. Supprted reprts are displayed in the native frmat f the device. Mbile Devices: Hw T Navigatin T navigate t the Mbile Devices page, frm the side menu, under SAS Envirnment Manager, click Security ð Mbile Devices. Nte: This menu item is available nly if yu are a member f the SAS Administratrs grup. Add One r Mre Devices t the Blacklist r Whitelist 1 On the Mbile Devices page, select the Blacklist r Whitelist tab, depending n the list t which yu want t add devices. 2 T add ne device t a list, click. Otherwise, t add multiple devices t a list, click.

2 2 3 In the Add t Blacklist r Add t Whitelist windw, enter ne r mre device IDs. T add multiple devices, enter each device ID n a new line. Nte: N validatin is perfrmed n the infrmatin that yu supply. 4 Click Save. See Als Device ID Criteria n page 4 Mve One r Mre Devices between Lists Yu can mve devices frm ne list t the ther (fr example, frm the blacklist t the whitelist): 1 On the Mbile Devices page, select the tab that crrespnds t the list frm which yu want t mve a device. 2 Select ne r mre devices that yu want t mve, and click. 3 In the Mve Device windw, click Yes. Remve One r Mre Devices frm a List 1 On the Mbile Devices page, select the tab that crrespnds t the list frm which yu want t remve a device. 2 Select ne r mre devices that yu want t remve, and click. 3 In the Cnfirm Remve windw, click Yes. Add a Device t a List frm Last Access Yu can add a device that has already cnnected (r attempted t cnnect) t the blacklist r whitelist: 1 On the Mbile Devices page, select the Last Access tab. 2 Select the device and click. 3 Select the list t which yu want t add the device. 4 In the Add Device windw, click Yes. View Previus Lgn Events 1 On the Mbile Devices page, select the Last Access tab. 2 T view recrds that were captured frm devices n a prir applicatin versin r perating system versin, select the Include device histry ptin.

3 3 Determine Which List Is Enfrced There are several ways t determine whether the blacklist r whitelist is being enfrced. On the Mbile Devices page, lk fr the fllwing indicatrs: The list that is being enfrced has a next t the list name. The list that is being enfrced displays the fllwing message abve the Device ID table: This list is currently being enfrced. The list that is nt being enfrced displays the fllwing message abve the Device ID table: This list is nt currently being enfrced. Change Hw Devices Are Managed CAUTION! These are deplyment-level instructins that affect user access. If yu change hw devices are managed, yu might disrupt existing users by changing which devices are eligible t cnnect t SAS Mbile BI. 1 Verify that the list that yu intend t enfrce is apprpriately ppulated. If yu enfrce the whitelist, the whitelist shuld cntain all eligible devices. The blacklist is ignred. If yu enfrce the blacklist, the blacklist shuld cntain all excluded devices. The whitelist is ignred. 2 On the Mbile Devices page, select the tab that crrespnds t the list that yu want t enfrce. 3 T change the list that is enabled, select the Enable blacklist r Enable whitelist ptin. In the cnfirmatin windw, click Yes t enable the new list. Mbile Devices: Cncepts Abut Managing Mbile Devices Here are the key pints: Yu can manage devices either by exclusin r by inclusin. If yu manage by exclusin, all devices have access t SAS Mbile BI, except thse that are n the blacklist. A blacklist is a list f mbile devices that are nt authrized t use the mbile reprting applicatin. If yu manage by inclusin, nly devices that are n the whitelist have access t SAS Mbile BI. A whitelist is a list f mbile devices that are authrized t use the mbile reprting applicatin. A deplyment enfrces nly ne list (either the blacklist r the whitelist) at a time. In a new deplyment, the blacklist is enfrced and cntains n items. Therefre, all devices can access SAS Mbile BI. Yu can mdify bth lists. Making changes t a list that is nt currently enfrced can help accmmdate a future change. The blacklist and whitelist affects devices, nt users. 4 4 Abut the Mbile Devices Windw Here are sme details abut the Mbile Devices windw: On the Last Access tab, yu can filter by selecting an item frm the Filter by drp-dwn list. The Last Access tab displays lgn events. A device might appear multiple times if a different user ID attempts t lg n with a device that has already been captured. The fllwing ccurrences are lgn events: a cnnectin attempt that cmes frm a new surce (a unique cmbinatin f device ID and user ID) a cnnectin attempt that cmes frm an existing surce (existing device ID and new user ID) a cnnectin attempt that is accmpanied by a device change (such as a new perating system versin r applicatin versin) On the Last Access tab, the ptin t add a device ID t the blacklist r whitelist will be disabled if the ID already exists n the respective list. On the Last Access tab, the Status clumn prvides infrmatin abut a lgn event. The fllwing table lists the status icns that might be displayed: Status Icns and Descriptins Icn Descriptin Indicates that the authenticatin was a success. Indicates that the authenticatin was a failure. Indicates that the device is in the blacklist. Indicates that the device is nt in the whitelist. Device ID Criteria T add ne r mre devices t the blacklist r whitelist, yu must enter valid device IDs. If an invalid ID is entered, yu will nt be able t add devices t the lists. In rder fr an ID t be valid, the fllwing fur cnditins must be met: nn-empty string length f 36 characters r less alphanumeric characters and hyphens nt a duplicate f an existing device ID Mbile Devices Service Cnfiguratin Yu can custmize the Mbile Devices service cnfiguratin prperties. Fr SAS Mbile BI, yu can cnfigure which apprach (whitelist r blacklist) is used t manage mbile devices.
