9 Part 4: Java Coding (15 Points Each) 1. Write a program that will take an input of a positive integer number from the user, say n. Repeat the following process until n is equal to 1. If n is even replace n by n/2 and if n is odd replace n by 3n + 1. The program must print out the sequence along with a count of the number of numbers in the sequence. Also the calculation of the next number must be done in a function that takes in the last number and returns the next number.

10 2. Write a program that will take as input a positive integer n from the user, that is, the input could be 1 or 2 or 3 etc.. The program should calculate and output the sum of all the numbers from 1 to n and the product of all the numbers from 1 to n. That is, n and n. The program should continually ask the user for another number until the user inputs 0. Also, each calculation must be done in a function that takes in n and returns the sum or product. So you will have two functions, one to do the sum and one to do the product.

11 3. Write a program that will take an integer n from the user and create an array with n rows and n columns. The program should put the number 1/(i+j+1) in the (i, j) cell. So if the user typed in a 5 the array would look like the following. Use doubles for storing the array entries. 1 1/2 1/3 1/4 1/5 1/2 1/3 1/4 1/5 1/6 1/3 1/4 1/5 1/6 1/7 1/4 1/5 1/6 1/7 1/8 1/5 1/6 1/7 1/8 1/9

12 4. Write a program that takes in an entire line as a string and counts the number of uppercase letters. You may assume that there are no punctuation symbols in the string.

13 5. Write a program that will take two numbers from the user n and r. The program must then use a random number generator to toss a coin n times and determine the number of runs of r heads or more. It should then output this number to the screen. You do not need to store the sequence of coin tosses in an array but you may if it helps you write the code. For example, if the user inputs 20 3 then the program will randomly generate a sequence of 20 coin tosses and determine the number of runs of length 3 or more. So if the random tosses produced HHTHHHTTHTHHHHTHHTHH the program would return 2 since there are two runs of 3 or more heads, HHTHHHTTHTHHHHTHHTHH.
