21 Three position measurement with 140 rotation? The TKSA 31 uses the well-known three position measurement at the position 9, 12 and 3 o clock. Unlike with TKSA 11 that requires accurate positioning of the measurement head, the TKSA 31 requires the measuring heads to be positioned inside a 40 wide wedge that offers a generous angular tolerance around each measurement position. With 20 tolerance towards the minimal shaft rotation at the 3 and 9 o clock position, the required total shaft rotation is 180-2x 20 = 140. 23 Alignment Accessories (1/2) SKF Machinery Shims TMAS series Accurate machine adjustment is an essential element of any alignment process. SKF single slot pre-cut shims are available in five different dimensions and in ten different thicknesses. 24 Alignment Accessories (2/2) SKF horizontal adjustment tool TMAH series The TMAH series, helps achieve a precise and controllable horizontal adjustment. The TMAH uses a special eccentric socket arrangement that enables rotary movement to be translated to linear movement at the motor foot. The result is a precise and controllable horizontal movement of the motor to the desired alignment position. SKF Vibracon SKF Vibracon elements are permanent, strong and reusable machinery mounting chocks for all types of rotating or critically aligned machinery. SKF Vibracon mounts are mechanically stiff elements that make accurate mounting simple and quick. SKF Vibracon advantages are the absence of curing time, as with epoxy resin chocks. Slide 24

25 TKSA 31 Accessories (1/3) The TKSA 31 is compatible with most accessories of the TKSA 41/60/80. Below is a list of all accessories: Extension chains (TKSA 41-EXTCH) set of two 500 mm (19.7 in.) extension chains for 300 mm diameter (11.8 in.) shafts (suitable for TKSA 31/41) Standard rods (TKSA ROD150) set of four150 mm (5.9 in.) rods with thread and screw to connect to the bracket or other rods (suitable for TKSA 31/41/60/80) Extension rods (TKSA ROD90) set of four 90 mm (3.5 in.) rods with thread and screw to connect to the bracket or other rods (suitable for TKSA 31/41/60/80) Slide 25

26 TKSA 31 Accessories (2/3) Standard V-bracket (TKSA VBK) These V-brackets are used for mounting the measuring units onto the shafts with Heli-Coil screw inserts to protect and strengthen the threads. (suitable for TKSA 31/41/60/80) Magnetic V-bracket (TKSA MAGVBK) The set of two magnetic V-brackets is used for shafts with limited spaces where a normal chain and bracket cannot be used. The bracket contains Heli- Coil screw thread inserts to protect and strengthen the threads. (suitable for TKSA 31/41/60/80) Sliding wheels (TKSA SLDBK) The pair of sliding wheels is used with standard V-brackets for a non-rotating shaft. 27 TKSA 31 Accessories (3/3) Magnetic base (TKSA MAGBASE) The magnetic base is used for mounting the measuring unit onto a large diameter shaft. It has a machined surface and a Heli-Coil screw thread insert to protect and strengthen the threads. It is supplied with a pair of M8 x 20 mm socket head cap screws. The magnetic base can be used together with offset brackets (as seen in the picture on the right). (suitable for TKSA 31/41/60/80) 50 mm offset brackets (TKSA EXT50) These 50 mm (2.0 in.) offset brackets are used for mounting the measuring units in limited spaces and contain Heli-Coil screw thread inserts to protect and strengthen the threads. These brackets can be used together with the standard V- brackets, magnetic V-brackets and magnetic base (as shown in the picture on the right). (suitable for TKSA 31/41/60/80) 100 mm offset brackets(tksa EXT100) These 100 mm (3.9 in.) offset brackets are used for mounting the measuring units in limited spaces and contain Heli-Coil screw thread inserts to protect and strengthen the threads.
