2 BALTER - MADE IN GERMANY Balter was founded in 2006 in Germany and in 2012 the company started its own production operations in Germany. Balter was one of the first companies in Europe that recognized the possibilities and the potential associated with HD-SDI technology and launched this onto the German market. As a result of the growing interest, the company began with the mass production of HD-SDI cameras in During this same period, the company concluded the development and the subsequent testing phase of its very own highresolution IP cameras successfully. Both the HD-SDI as well as the IP cameras currently feature the technologies, which the company developed itself and which provide unique features in terms of light sensitivity and an extremely wide dynamic range. In 2013, the Balter Group proudly presented the BALTER real-time recorders, based on the Balter VMS software, which combines Analog, HD-SDI and IP video cameras in one single real-time system. Balter VMS works with the Balter 3D Codec, which has been developed by Balter and is a scalable compression codec that ensures stable remote access to the server even with a slow internet connection. Each and every component contained in BALTER devices has a particularly high Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). All devices that are produced in Germany have a full 3 year warranty. 6 INTUITIVE USER INTERFACE Hey this looks like it is easy to use! - This is the first thing you realise when you start to work with the Balter VMS user interface. It does not matter which systems you have become accustomed to over the years - the UI of the Balter VMS is so intuitive and easy to understand that each user already becomes really comfortable with it after using it for just a few minutes. IP & HD-SDI & ANALOG IP, HD-SDI or Analog you do not have to choose between the formats anymore. Now you can create a flexible, triple-hybrid solution with any configuration based on the Balter VMS by combining the IP, HD-SDI and Analog technologies into a single real-time system. DIGITAL ZOOM The digital zoom function is extremely useful if the screen resolution is lower than the camera resolution. It lets you zoom onto the images of selected monitored areas without any loss in quality being experienced whatsoever. These areas can be moved and monitored without the monitoring of the main monitored area having to be interrupted. VERSATILITY Due to its flexibility, the Balter VMS can be deployed for any complex monitoring purposes - from monitoring small business premises right through to monitoring of complex industrial facilities and creating large-scale surveillance systems. BALTER 3D CODEC One of the innovative technologies developed by Balter is the unique compression method - Balter 3D codec. It allows remote clients to adapt the frame rate and image resolution (live and archived) individually to the network bandwidth of each remote client. QUICK AND COMFORTABLE SEARCH FUNCTION Interactive buttons on the timeline, easy selection and adaptation of the date/time scale, changing the playback speed without having to stop the playback and other functions included in the user interface provide convenient and easy searching for information within an archive. MULTI-DISPLAY SURVEILLANCE Balter recorders, which are based on the Balter VMS, enable an autonomous user interface and video monitoring which is separate for each connected display, although a single video system can also be used if desired. Touch screen functionality is supported completely.

7 When the cameras connected to the recorder are of the same type, the PC-based version of the recorder is able to record up to 16x HD-SDI cameras each in 1920x1080 resolution and at recording speed of 25 FPS. Alternatively, up to 64x Analog cameras can be recorded each at a resolution of 720x576 and the recording speed of 25 FPS. The server version of the recorder supports up to 28x HD-SDI video cameras each in 1920x1080 resolution and at a recording speed of 25 FPS, or 112x Analog cameras each in a resolution of 720x576 and by the recording speed of 25 FPS. BALTER HYBRID RECORDERS Balter recorders are used to display recorded video during the monitoring in real time. Analog, HD-SDI and IP video cameras are supported. The video recordings are stored and archived so that playback is possible directly from the recorder as well as from an unlimited number of remote desktops on which the Balter VMS software has been installed. Both recorders record images from the IP cameras with the resolution and recording speed supported by these IP cameras. The system is allowed to include an infinite number of Balter recorders, which can also be configured differently: Balter VMS can combine them all. An infinite number of remote clients, which can also be configured differently, can access the recorders. The uniqueness of Balter recorders is that it does not matter how many cameras are connected simultaneously and which camera types they are: the images are recorded in real-time and with the highest possible resolution. Due to the Balter 3D codec, the size of the archive not increased as is the case with conventional compression methods. Balter recorders are available in two versions: PC-based (in a case) and server-based (better suited for server rooms, for 19 racks). PC-based variant supports up to 8 TB of storage space and 19 - up to 24 TB, which allows the archiving of huge volumes of video information. In both versions, an esata port is integrated. In addition, the hard drive hot-swap function is included (up to 2 hard drives with the PC-based model and up to 6 hard drives in a 19 model). BALTER VMS Balter VMS (Video Management System) is the software that was developed by Balter s team of leading experts. Balter VMS enables an integrated and unified solution based on IP, HD-SDI and Analog video cameras systems. Balter VMS is implemented on the German BALTER recorders and guarantees the necessary flexibility required by a system configuration which is suitable for monitoring any type and size of premises. The new scalable compression format Balter 3D codec which is used in Balter VMS is currently unique on the CCTV market. Its uniqueness entails allowing remote clients to customise and to adapt the resolution and the transmission speed of live surveillance images to their bandwidth individually. In this case, one remote client can view play or archive data at maximum resolution and in real-time speed, while another remote client is allowed to set the priority to either the playback speed or to the resolution. The priority can be changed individually at any time e.g. when it is important to be able to read the license plates of moving objects (like cars), without exiting the playback mode. The software Balter VMS has a variety of useful features such as the mini-mode scaling, simple data exporting, double authorization and more...
