9 Advantages and Limitations of ToF Time-of-Flight Technology compared to other 3D Technologies Efficient Distance Algorithm Direct process for extracting the distance information out of the output signals of the TOF sensor with only a small amount of processing power. Compact The illumination is placed next to the lens, no need for a certain minimum base line. Fast Integration and Ease of Use Reduced complexity due to one single component and no moving parts. Multipath and Scattered Light The light may reach the objects along several paths or as a direct reflection as scattered light. Interference In multi-camera applications, the cameras will disturb each other with their light pulses. Depth accuracy of just 1cm 1cm Z accuracy out of the box. It can be optimized with a smart algorithm that indicates the Z values for each pixel. Or you can adjust the settings when processing images. 9
