2 Thanks for choosing FreedomPop. We ve designed this guide to help you learn how to set up and use your new FreedomPop smartphone.

6 Activation If this phone was purchased at freedompop.com it is already activated. Turn it on and start using it. If this phone was NOT purchased at freedompop.com, it requires activation. Follow the steps below to activate your FreedomPop phone and service plan. ACTIVATE PHONE & SERVICE Go to freedompop.com/activate, enter the 18-digit MEID number and your address, then click Validate. MEID is located on the phone packaging or under your phone s battery. Note: You can also call to activate by phone. Continue through the activation steps to choose your plan, services, and phone number and enter billing details. NETWORK CONNECTION ISSUES? If you powered on your phone before activation, please restart it by holding the Power button for 3 seconds and selecting Reboot. If your phone still does not connect to the cellular network after activation, you can (1) select Profile Update under Settings > System Update (exact path may vary by phone) or (2) Dial ##72786# from your phone and select Reset. 6

7 The Basics CHARGE IT Plug the Micro USB cable into the Micro USB slot of your device and into a wall outlet. Your battery will already have some charge, but we recommend charging it during the setup process. A battery can be fully recharged in 1-3 hours. TURN IT ON After charging, press and hold the power button on the device for 3 seconds. The device will light up and turn on. This may take up to 30 seconds. 7

8 Connecting CONNECT TO WIFI From your "Homescreen", open Settings. Select Wi-Fi. Select a Wi-Fi network from the list and tap "Connect". Settings CONNECT GOOGLE ACCOUNT Note: This enables many phone features: calls, texts, , app downloads, etc. Find and open Play Store. Sign into or create a new Google account. INSTALL / UPDATE APPS Open Play Store, select the magnifying glass icon. Play Store Search for an app you would like to update (ie. "freedompop messaging"). Tap app name, select "Install" or "Update". ACCESS ACCOUNT Go to freedompop.com and login using your credentials. Your account address is the address used during the purchase of this device. Your account password was provided to you in the purchase confirmation . 8

9 Make a Call CALLING Tap the phone icon. This will bring up the dialer. Before first call, you may see a popup to choose your calling app. Select Dialer and check "Always" to set this as default. Defaults can be cleared in the "Settings" app. Calls can also be made from your Contacts app or from the Messaging app. KEY BUTTONS 3 1 Number Display 1 (888) Keypad (888) Navigation Bar Call Button 2 5 Voic 6 Delete

10 Compose a Text TEXTING Open the Messaging app. Press the Compose button. Type the name or number of the recipient. Tap "Ok". Type your text message and press "Send". KEY BUTTONS Menu View account, add services, etc. Compose Starts a new text conversation Dialer Opens Dialer app Conversations View and continue conversation

11 More Basic Functions SELECT / CHANGE / TRANSFER PHONE NUMBER Log in to your FreedomPop Account. Go to freedompop.com/acct_manage_number.htm Follow the on-screen instructions. Note: You must select a number temporarily before transferring an existing number. VOIC Download and open the FreedomPop Voic app. Follow instructions to subscribe. If you have already subscribed to Voic , just log in. Open your app ( , Gmail, etc). Follow any instructions to setup your account. Press New, Compose, +, or Pencil icon. SURF THE WEB Make sure you have a connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G LTE). Open your browser app (ie. Internet, Chrome). Tap the search bar in the browser app. Enter your URL/web address, press "Go". 11

12 Tips and Tricks USE THESE TIPS TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR DEVICE. HOW TO OPEN MESSAGING APP Click on icon that looks like: HOW TO UPDATE/INSTALL MESSAGING APP Open the Play Store app on your device. Select the search bar or magnifying glass icon. Search "FreedomPop Messaging". Click Install or Update. HOW TO UNLOCK THE PHONE'S SCREEN Swipe or hold your finger on the lock icon on your phone s screen. HOW TO MINIMIZE DATA USAGE Use Wi-Fi whenever possible. Avoid these activities while on mobile connection: streaming video/music, downloading/updating apps. WHICH CONNECTION TYPE IS BEST FOR INDOORS? OUTDOORS? Indoors: Wi-Fi (3G / 4G LTE data connections are limited indoors). Outdoors: 4G LTE (Strongest connection). 12

13 Tips and Tricks USE THESE TIPS TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR DEVICE. HOW TO IMPORT/EXPORT CONTACTS Click on the Contacts or People icon. Press the menu button or Select import/export. HOW TO OPTIMIZE MOBILE DATA CONNECTION Open "Settings". Locate "System Update". (Location varies by device) Select "PRL Update". Wait for completion. Select "Profile Update". Wait for completion. HOW TO UNINSTALL AN APP Go to Settings. Go to Apps or Application Manager to find the list of apps. Go to "All" apps by swiping left on title bar. Select the app you would to make changes to. Select "Uninstall". HOW TO RESET PASSWORD Go to "Forgot Your Password" page at freedompop.com. Enter the associated with your account. Follow instructions to create a new password. HOW TO RESET PHONE TO FACTORY SETTINGS Make sure to back up important files, etc. before continuing. Open the settings app. Find Backup and Reset (varies by device). Select: Factory Data Reset > Reset Phone > Erase Everything. Upon completion select Reboot. After resetting phone, you may need to re-download "FreedomPop Messaging" from Play Store for calls and texts to work. 13

14 Troubleshooting ISSUE Can't hear other party. Other party can't hear me. Phone won't turn on. POSSIBLE CAUSE(S) Microphone volume is too low or muted. Low signal strength. Mobile connection not optimized. Battery is empty. Charger does not work. Google Services not set up. Can't make calls or texts. Account out of sync. Using wrong texting app. Messaging app out of date/uninstalled. App stopped / frozen. Not receiving Voic . Why did I get charged? Why is my account suspended? Various. Voic app not installed. Not subscribed to voic service. You were charged for renewal of a paid monthly service. You are enrolled in auto topup and have reached your data threshold. A charge on your card has failed. Automatic Top-up is disabled and you have reached your data threshold.

15 Troubleshooting SOLUTION(S) Turn volume up / unmute microphone. Connect to Wi-Fi or move to a location with better signal. Perform PRL and Profile updates. Charge battery. Try different charger. Log in to Google Services by accessing Google Play Store. Select "Refresh activation data" in Messaging app menu. Use Messaging app to make texts successfully. Update/Install "FreedomPop Messaging" app in Play Store. Force close app: Go to Settings > App. Manager > All apps >select frozen app in list>"force Stop">"Clear Data". Download "FreedomPop Voic " from Play Store. Subscribe to service online or through "Messaging" app. Log in to your account to manage services. Log in and go to "Billing Settings" to manage this feature. Add funds to card or log in and update billing information. Log in and enable Automatic Top-up or add account credit.

18 SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS SOLUCIONES Suba el volumen/reactive el audio de su micrófono. Conéctese a WiFi o muévase a un lugar con mejor señal. Realice Actualización de PRL y Perfil (Ver Consejos y trucos). Cargue la batería. Pruebe un cargador diferente. Entre a Servicios Google por medio de el Google Play Store. Pulse "Refresh activation data" en menú del Messaging app. Utilice la aplicación Messaging para enviar textos. Actualice/Instale "FreedomPop Messaging" en el Play Store. Vaya a Config. > Administrador de aplicaciones > TODO > seleccione aplicación >"Forzar cierre" >"Eliminar datos Descargue Freedompop Voic accediendo al Play Store. Suscríbase en línea o a través de la aplicación Messaging Ingrese a su cuenta para administrar servicios. Acceda su cuenta y vaya a "Billing Settings" para administrar esta función. Añada fondos a tarjeta o actualice información de facturación. Acceda su cuenta y permita el auto top up o agregue una cuenta de crédito.

Aplicación "Voic " no instalada No esta suscrito a correos de voz. Por qué me cobran? Usted fue cargado por la renovación de un servicio mensual pagado. Usted está inscrito en "auto topup" y ha alcanzado el límite de datos. Por qué fue suspendida mi cuenta? Un cargo en su tarjeta ha fallado. Auto "top up" está desactivado y usted ha alcanzado el límite de datos.

20 CONSEJOS Y TRUCOS SIGA ESTOS CONSEJOS PARA APROVECHAR AL MÁXIMO SU DISPOSITIVO CÓMO IMPORTAR/EXPORTAR CONTACTOS Haga clic en la aplicación "Contactos" o icono de "Personas". Pulse el botón de menú ó Seleccione "Importar/Exportar". CÓMO OPTIMIZAR LA CONEXIÓN DE DATOS MÓVILES Abra "Config." Localice "Actualización de sistema" (la ubicación varía según el dispositivo) Seleccione "Actualizar PRL". Espere a que finalice. Seleccione "Actualizar perfil". Espere a que finalice. CÓMO DESINSTALAR UNA APLICACIÓN Ir a "Config.". Vaya a "Aplicaciones" o "Administrador de aplicaciones" para encontrar la lista de aplicaciones. Vaya a "Todo" deslizando a la izquierda en la barra de títulos. Seleccione la aplicación a la que quiere hacer cambios. Seleccione "Desinstalar". CÓMO RESTABLECER SU CONTRASEÑA Ir a "Forgot Password?" en la página FreedomPop.com. Introduzca el correo electrónico asociado a su cuenta. Siga las instrucciones para crear una nueva contraseña. 13

21 CONSEJOS Y TRUCOS SIGA ESTOS CONSEJOS PARA OBTENER EL MÁXIMO DE SU DISPOSITIVO CÓMO ABRIR LA APLICACIÓN DE MENSAJERÍA Haga clic en el icono que se parece a: CÓMO ACTUALIZAR/INSTALAR LA APLICACIÓN DE MENSAJERÍA Abra el "Play Store" en su dispositivo. Seleccione la barra de búsqueda o el icono de lupa. Busque "FreedomPop Messaging". Haga clic en Instalar o Actualizar. CÓMO DESBLOQUEAR LA PANTALLA DEL TELÉFONO Mantenga presionado el icono de bloqueo o deslice su dedo sobre la pantalla de su teléfono. CÓMO MINIMIZAR EL USO DE DATOS Utilice Wi-Fi siempre que sea posible. Evite estas actividades cuando este utilizando conexión móvil: vídeos, música, descarga/actualización de aplicaciones CUAL ES LA MEJOR CONEXIÓN PARA INTERIORES? EXTERIORES? Interiores: WiFi (3G/4G LTE son limitadas en el interior). Exteriores: 4G LTE (conexión más fuerte). RESTABLECER A PROGRAMACIÓN DE FÁBRICA Haga una copia de seguridad de sus archivos importantes antes de continuar. Abra la aplicación de Configuración ( Config. ). Localice "Realizar copia de seguridad y restablecer (varía). Seleccione: "Restablecer valores predeterminados"> "Restablecer dispositivo"> "Borrar/Eliminar todo". Al finalizar seleccione "Reiniciar". Después de restablecer, es posible que tenga que descargar la aplicación "FreedomPop Messaging" en el "Play Store". 12

22 Funciones más básicas SELECCIONAR/CAMBIAR/ TRANSFERIR NÚMERO DE TELÉFONO Ingrese a su cuenta FreedomPop. Vaya a freedompop.com/acct_manage_number.htm Siga las instrucciones en pantalla Nota: Debe seleccionar un número temporero antes de transferir un número existente. CORREO DE VOZ Descargue y abra la aplicación FreedomPop "Voic ". Siga las instrucciones para suscribirse. Si ya te has suscrito a correo de voz, simplemente debes iniciar sesión. Abra su aplicación de Correo ( , Gmail, etc). Siga las instrucciones para configurar su cuenta. Presione Nuevo, Redactar, +, o el icono de Lápiz. NAVEGACIÓN INTERNET Asegúrese de que tiene una conexión (Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G y LTE). Abra su aplicación de navegador (IE. Internet, Chrome). Pulse en la barra de búsqueda en la aplicación de navegador. Ingrese su dirección de web/url, pulse en "Ir". 11

23 Redacción de texto ENVIAR MENSAJES DE TEXTO Abra la aplicación "Messaging". Pulse el botón "Compose". Escriba el nombre o el número del destinatario. Toque en OK Escriba su mensaje de texto y pulse "Send". KEY BUTTONS Menú Ver cuenta, agregar servicios, etc. Compose Inicia una nueva conversación de texto. 24 Hacer llamadas LLAMAR Toque el icono de Teléfono. Esto abrirá el teclado. Antes de su primera llamada, debe seleccionar el "Teléfono" como su aplicación de llamadas. Seleccione "Siempre" para definirlo como predeterminado. Valores predeterminados se pueden borrar en la aplicación "Config.". 25 Conexión CONÉCTESE A WIFI Desde su pantalla de inicio, abra "Config.. Seleccione "Wi-Fi". Seleccione una red Wi-Fi de la lista y pulse "Conectar". CONECTAR CUENTA DE GOOGLE Nota: Esto habilita muchas funciones del teléfono: llamadas, textos, correo electrónico, Configuracion (Config.) Play Store descargas de aplicaciones, etc. Busque y abra "Play Store". Regístrese o cree una nueva cuenta de Google. COMO INSTALAR/ACTUALIZAR APLICACIONES Abra "Play Store", Seleccione la barra de búsqueda o el icono de lupa. Buque una aplicación para actualizar (ej. "FreedomPop Messaging"). Pulse en la aplicación, seleccione "Instalar" o "Actualizar". ACCEDER SU CUENTA Vaya a freedompop.com e inicie sesión utilizando sus credenciales El correo electrónico de su cuenta es el mismo que utilizó durante la compra del equipo. La contraseña de su cuenta se le proveyó en el correo de confirmación de compra. 8

26 Lo básico CÁRGUELO Conecte el cable Micro USB en la ranura Micro USB de su dispositivo y a una toma eléctrica. La batería ya tendrá un poco de carga, pero recomendamos que lo cargue durante el proceso de configuración. Una batería se puede recargar completamente en 1-3 horas. ENCIÉNDALO Después de cargarlo, mantenga pulsado el botón de encendido del dispositivo durante 3 segundos. El dispositivo se iluminará y encenderá. Esto puede tardar hasta 30 segundos. 7

27 Activación Si este teléfono fue comprado en freedompop.com ya está activado. Enciéndalo y comience a utilizarlo. Si este teléfono NO fue comprado en freedompop.com, requiere activación. Siga estos pasos para activar su teléfono FreedomPop y su plan de servicio. ACTIVAR TELÉFONO Y SERVICIO Vaya a freedompop.com/activate, introduzca el número de MEID con 18 dígitos y su dirección de correo electrónico, luego haga clic en Validate/Validar. El MEID se encuentra en el empaque del teléfono o debajo de la batería del teléfono. Nota: También puede llamar al para activar por teléfono. Continúe con los pasos de activación para elegir su plan, los servicios y el número de teléfono e introducir los datos de facturación. PROBLEMAS DE CONEXIÓN DE RED? Si usted encendió su teléfono antes de la activación, por favor reinícielo manteniendo pulsado el botón de encendido durante 3 segundos y seleccionando Reboot/Reiniciar. Si su teléfono todavía no se conecta a la red celular después de la activación, usted puede (1) seleccionar Actualizar Perfil en Configuración> Actualización del sistema (ruta exacta puede variar por teléfono) o (2) Marque ##72786# desde su teléfono y seleccione Restablecer. 6
