The Zultys Mobile application extends tools like real-time Presence, Instant Message (IM), Presence Notes, Single Number Contact, Call Handling and more right to your iphone for increased productivity, enhanced customer service and cost savings. 3 2 Requirements The following requirements must be met in order to deploy the Zultys Mobile Communicator for iphone (hereinafter referred to as Zultys Mobile) application: iphone running OS version 3.1 or higher, or an ipad Zultys Mobile 1.06 or later MX version with patch 5205 or later 3G network (for external use) WiFi network (optional for internal use) Valid MX user account with Mobile Access enabled Zultys Mobile Access License Port 7778 open and forwarded to the MX Non-jail-broken iphone 3 Obtaining Zultys Mobile Communicator for iphone Zultys Mobile is available via the App Store as a free download. To install: 1. Open itunes App Store. 2. Search for Zultys Mobile 3. Tap on "Free App" to download. Please note you will need to purchase Zultys Licensing prior to activation: Zultys Mobile Communicator for iphone part number Page 3 of 21

4 4 Launching the Application To start Zultys Mobile, tap the application icon on your iphone s home screen, it will immediately attempt to connect to the MX Zultys Mobile Page 4 of 21

5 5 To Login/Out 5.1 To login to Zultys Mobile To login to Zultys Mobile, enter in the required information. Tap the login icon to the right of Login Username: this is your MXIE username Password: this is your MXIE password Server address: this is the FQDN or IP address of your MX Auto Login: have Zultys Mobile log in automatically when the application is started Note: If the User account is configured for LDAP authentication, Zultys Mobile access will be authenticated to AD/LDAP database. 6 5.2 To Logout Tap on your name at the top of the screen to access the status area, and then tap on the log out icon. Once logged out you will not receive any incoming calls or instant messages. If you wish to continue to receive calls and instant messages, simply push the application to the background by using the iphone s Home button. Back Log out Page 6 of 21

7 6 Opening screen Once logged into Zultys Mobile, you will be presented with a list of active chats and a list of calls. There is also the Favorites icon, which will take you to your buddies, and an icon that shows your entire call log not only for the calls made from your iphone but your desk phone as well. Configure Tap to change Presence and Presence note Dial Pad Tap to access the Buddy List Tap to access your Call Log Active Chats and Calls; any active chat or call will be listed here Page 7 of 21

8 7 Settings Tapping on your iphone s Settings icon (from the iphone s home screen) and selecting Zultys Mobile, allows you to modify the following options: Bound Phone: Your cell/mobile phone number. You will not receive incoming calls from Zultys Mobile if this field is not set Timeout: Amount of time the phone will ring before canceling the call Remote Mode: Will activate Remote Mode Use Bridge Server: Must be enabled for background operation* Server Address: Must be set to mb1.zultys.com Auto Login: When enabled, Zultys Mobile will keep the user logged in when the application is running in the background Ring: Set the ring options Messages: Set the audible alert for incoming Instant Messages Keypad: Set the audible alert for key pad presses Version: Version info Copyright information Page 8 of 21

9 *Mobile Bridge Server: As the iphone OS does not allow applications to actively run in the background, the Mobile Bridge s function is to maintain a communications path between the iphone and MX system when Zultys Mobile does not have focus. The Mobile Bridge Server routes communications to the iphone via the Apple Push Notification Service. 8 Using your Favorites (Buddy List) Tapping on the favorites icon will take you to a list of your buddies Once in your favorites, you will be presented with the following items: Takes you to the MX contact list List of your buddies in the MX Presence and Presence notes for each buddy on the list Tapping Address Book will open the MX address book. Tapping on a more info icon will show detailed information for this contact. More Info Page 9 of 21

10 While in the Info screen, tapping on a contact will have the following effect: Business will place a call to the contact s extension on the MX Mobile will place a call to the contact s mobile phone will start an to the contact s address Chat will open a chat session Remove from favorites will remove this buddy from the favorites list 9 Chat / Instant Messaging To chat with a user, tap the Chat button. The top half of the screen shows the chat history. To send an Instant Message enter text in the bottom section of the screen and press enter. Back Options Page 10 of 21

11 Tapping the options icon in the top right corner provides the following options: Call Business: Call the buddy s extension Call mobile (or other phone numbers): Call selected phone number Contact Info: View buddy s contact info Clear Log: Clear the chat and call log Cancel: Return to the previous screen Page 11 of 21

12 10 Making calls To make a call, tap the dial pad icon on the main screen (refer to section 5.2) and enter the phone number. If the numbered dialed matched the details for a contact in the MX address book, their name will be displayed. The screen will update once you tap the send icon and the MX will call the iphone. You must answer the call for it to be placed / connected to the dialed number. Back Number and name will appear here This function allows you to dial any number as if you were dialing from a phone in the office. Dialed numbers will be looked up in all address books Tapping on the address book icon opens the phone s contact list Address book Send Backspace Page 12 of 21

13 11 Using iphone Address Book From the Dial Pad screen, tap the Address Book icon. The iphone s address book will open. Available actions: Groups opens groups defined in the iphone Cancel exits this screen Tapping on the letters to the right moves to the corresponding letter in the Address Book. 14 12 Changing Your Status/Presence To change your Presence, on the main screen tap the Status area (where your name and current Presence is displayed), the following screen will then be displayed. Change your Presence by using the status wheel The back button returns you to the previous screen To enter a Presence Note tap on the Note area. Tap the Log Out button to disconnect from the MX system. Back Log out Page 14 of 21

15 13 Call Log The call log displays all calls made and received using the Zultys Mobile application, as well as calls handled via your desk phone. After tapping the call log icon from the main screen: Back Delete Select All to view all incoming and outgoing calls to your user, or Missed to display only missed calls Tapping on any call log entry will initiate a call to that contact Page 15 of 21

16 14 Answering a call Incoming calls can be answered while Zultys Mobile is in the background or while the Zultys mobile application has focus. If Zultys Mobile is operating in the background, a push notification about an incoming call is displayed. The screen displays the incoming caller information as presented by the company s address book and your extension number. Selecting Close at this point, will close the notification screen and the call will be ignored. To answer the incoming call, tap the Pickup button. The Zultys Mobile application will be brought to the foreground and you will be presented with options to Answer, Ignore and Send caller to voic . If Zultys Mobile is already in the foreground this screen will be immediately presented allowing you to: Answer the call Ignore the call to silence the ringing Transfer the call to your office voic When Answer is selected, the office phone system (MX) initiates a call to the iphone s phone number. When the call is received at the iphone selecting Answer connects the caller to the iphone. Page 16 of 21

17 The call from the office phone system (MX) is a normal cellular/mobile call and thus call charges may apply. Your iphone will attempt to look up the phone number presented by the MX in the iphone s contact list and pull a name for it. If multiple matches are found, then all of them will be presented. From this screen if you tap Answer, you will answer the call, tapping on Decline at this point will send the caller to your iphone s voic . 15 Incoming Instant Messages (IM) You can receive incoming Instant Messages (IM) while Zultys Mobile is running in the background or while the Zultys mobile application has focus. If Zultys Mobile is running in the background, you will receive a push notification that an incoming IM is being received. This notification will show you the name of the sender and the IM itself. Selecting Close at this point will close the notification screen and the IM will be ignored. To answer the incoming IM tap the Answer button. This will bring Zultys Mobile to the foreground, and bring up the chat screen Page 17 of 21

18 If Zultys mobile is already in the foreground, you will be immediately presented with the chat screen allowing you to chat with the sender. Tapping in the chat box at the bottom of the screen will display the keyboard. Enter your chat message, then tap the Send button on the keyboard. 16 Remote Mode When remote mode is activated the following will occur: You will be logged out of your active MXIE session All of the calls and messages sent to your user extension will be sent directly to your iphone All call handling rules will be disregarded Your assigned office phone will still ring when calls are received Page 18 of 21

19 17 Removing Zultys Mobile Communicator for iphone from your device To remove Zultys Mobile from your device, tap and hold the Zultys Mobile icon, after a short time all icons will wiggle and have an X in the upper left corner. To delete, tap the X and follow onscreen directions. 18 Upgrading Zultys Mobile Communicator for iphone When a new Zultys Mobile upgrade is available at the itunes App Store, the iphone will automatically notify the user; login to the App Store to download and install the update. 19 FAQ Q: Where can I find the version number of Zultys Mobile that is installed on my Apple iphone? A: Open the iphone Settings and select Zultys Mobile. The version information is the last field of the form. Page 19 of 21

20 Q: What is the Mobile Bridge Server? A: Mobile Bridge Server provides you with the possibility to receive notifications on your iphone about calls and messages while the application is running in the background. The Mobile Bridge Server address should always be set to mb1.zultys.com. Q: What are the requirements for using Zultys Mobile? A: A Zultys Mobile user must have the following: Valid account on the MX system Rights to connect from iphone to this server provided by system administrator in the user s profile Properly configured EDGE, 3G or Wi-Fi networks on the iphone Certificate installed on the Company s MX Q: I have a problem with the connection to the MX server when I am using my iphone with Wi-Fi connection to office network. A: Typically these kinds of problems are related TCP/IP configuration. Many office networks are using private sets of IP addresses with many security restrictions. Please ask your system administrator for assistance. Q: I don t receive notifications about phone calls and messages. How do I fix this problem? A: First of all, please check application settings. Mobile Bridge Server must be switched on. Next, please ask a colleague to check your Presence status after sending Zultys Mobile to the background. If status is not set to "logged out" then ask them to send you an instant message. If you get a notification on your iphone, problem is solved. If you do not, ask your system administrator for assistance. Q: What happens when you log out? A: The following actions are taken when you log out of Zultys Mobile: Zultys Mobile disconnects from the MX and no longer communicates with the MX until you log in again. Page 20 of 21

21 When logging in again Zultys Mobile will ask you to enter the password again. If you disable Auto login," you will have to enable it again. Q: When I initiate a call from Zultys Mobile my iphone does not ring A: Ensure that your cell/mobile number is defined in the Bound phone setting. Q: When I select Answer on a new call notification my iphone does not ring A: Ensure that your cell/mobile number is defined in the Bound phone setting. 20 Troubleshooting 20.1 Zultys Mobile app error: Invalid parameter value when placing call This problem can come from two possible sources: 1. Application does not receive your extension number from MX. You can check it on the Profile page in Zultys Mobile. 2. Zultys Mobile can t obtain your phone number from the iphone. This is usually caused by the following situations: a. The iphone is jail broken b. The iphone does not have the correct mobile operator provisioning profile. Page 21 of 21
