Preconditions and hints before putting into service In order to provide safe and proper use of this device, please read these instructions carefully before putting the device into service. Descriptions are based on the standard settings of this device. In order to put your smartphone into service you will need a working SIM card from any mobile telephone service provider. We recommend you to get a flatrate contract since low credit on a prepaid card could lead to restrictions in the use of telephony, SOS and Care feature. Using the telephony, internet, SOS and Care feature (SMS) can cause charges at your provider! The icross SOFTWARE GmbH does not incur liability for charges of any kind that are caused by the use of your device! For further information on charges at home and abroad please contact with your provider! If you already have a SIM card we will recommend you to carry out a data backup. The icross SOFTWARE GmbH does not incur liability for data loss! Please make sure that you keep your PIN and PUK number of your SIM card. Copyright 2017 icross SOFTWARE GmbH 3

5 Preconditions For a flawless useability of your smartphone we recommend you to look for a provider that guarantees good network coverage. Use only batteries, battery chargers and accessories that are authorized by the manufacturer! It is recommended to charge the battery of your smartphone before putting into service. Please remind that the network coverage, whether you are inside or outside a building, depends on your location! The function "mobile data" is switched off by the factory to avoid unwanted costs. Please don t ever carry out any update for the operating system Android since it could cause problems with the icross System Software! We recommend you to have a working internet connection on your device so that your family and friends can easily locate you. The battery life of your device will be restricted by the use of mobile data. By pushing long the option key the multitasking view will open up and show all the previous used apps. 7 3. Main menu In order to operate settings push the three shown dots at the upper right frame. Thereby you will get access to a menu which will offer you many different menu items: Keypad: Opens keypad to dial call numbers. Configuration: Allows personalized settings on your device. (Chap. 5) Manage contacts: Opens the phone book with your contacts. (Chap. 6) Start apps: Allows to start all selected applications (apps). (Chap. 5.2 ) Order contacts: Allows the collocation of (max. 6) favorite contacts on your main screen. Query credit: Shows you the remaining amount of credit on our prepaid card. By shortly pressing your device, it will read the amount of credit to you. Info: Opens the legal details of icross Software GmbH, as well as terms and conditions and terms of a license. Selected applications will appear as colored symbols. Not selected applications will appear as grey symbols. If you now press start apps in the main menu (Chap. 3) it will open a list with all previous selected applications. (Attention: Applications (Apps) of third providers could contain hidden links, costs or harmful programs. Please check the security of any application before downloading!) 12 5.4 Features Keypad: Activates or deactivates the keypad (Chap. 3) in the main menu. Camera: Key for access to camera will be inserted or cut out. (Chap. 2) Voice output: Allows voice output for credit, calls and SOS feature Hint text: Completes voice output for credit, calls and SOS feature. Vibrate: Device vibrates while pressing any keys. Mobile Data: Allows an internet connection via the mobile network of your provider.* *(Attention: Caution! Deactivated by the factory to avoid unwanted costs. In order to use mobile data switch to the operating system Android (Chap. 8). Follow the menu items (settings >data usage >cellular data) and activate the checkbox.) 5.6 SOS feature Receiving calls: As soon as you activate the SOS feature your device will automatically answer calls from the determined emergency

SOS contact 1 & 2: Press SOS contact 1 or 2 to set a name and a number. Please set a name and telephone number from a contact of choice.

SOS: Activates or deactivates the SOS feature at the main screen (Chap. 2). SOS contact 1 & 2: Press SOS contact 1 or 2 to set a name and a number. Please set a name and telephone number from a contact of choice. If the SOS feature on the main screen is used in case of an emergency, the chosen contact will be informed via SMS. 15 5.7 Care feature ( Sorg Funktion ) Tracking password: Allows setting a password to track your smartphones location via other contacts. (Attention: Please only give this password to carefully chosen people.) SMS tracking: Allows tracking your smartphone via other contacts. You can find out about the location of your smartphone by sending the tracking password. Your smartphone will automatically answer, giving its exact coordinates. (Attention: The use of this feature can cause charges at your provider!) Attention: Watch out what you do! The icross TELEFON offers all users the SOS and care feature for kids and seniors. Therefore, we kindly ask you to use these features only because of acceptable reasons. These features are not meant for surveillance. Respect the privacy of your fellows. Watch out! 5.8 Thievery protection SIM card number: If you activate the thievery protection the serial number of your SIM card will be saved by your device to detect a possible exchange.

Deactivate the protection feature before exchanging your SIM card!) 5.9 Cost control for prepaid Activate cost control: Shows amount of remaining credit in the main menu. 5.10 Time lock Time lock: Allows blocking the device (SOS and care feature can still be used) within a certain time. Start and end of the time lock: Determine the start and end of the time lock.

Attention: The time lock can be canceled by a set SOS contact via the SMS free (without quotation marks). In this way, the time lock and auto lock will be deactivated.

The time lock is supposed to be a specific feature for the time in school. During activated time lock, the icross TELEFON remains silent so that there are no disruptions during the lessons. Attention: The time lock can be canceled by a set SOS contact via the SMS free (without quotation marks). In this way, the time lock and auto lock will be deactivated. Attention: Despite the time lock, a few sounds can occur because of incoming notifications. To carry out the update of your icross System Software, tap install update. All data and settings will remain after the update.

18 5.11 Update Update: Tap the section Update, to check if your device has the latest update of the icross System Software. (Attention: Updates are only possible when connected to WLAN.) Shows installed version. Shows new version. To carry out the update of your icross System Software, tap install update. All data and settings will remain after the update. If the icross System Software needs access to settings and other services on your device it will be shown in the section NEW. Tap Install to carry out the update. Now tap the silhouette in the middle of the lower frame to add a new contact.

19 6. Add contacts To add contacts tap Manage contacts in the main menu (Chap. 3). That is how you get to your phone book. Now tap the silhouette in the middle of the lower frame to add a new contact. Tap Telephone so that your new contact will get stored on your device. Copyright 2017 icross SOFTWARE GmbH 18

Now enter the details of your contact, e.g.name, phone number, address etc.

Choose Take photo or Choose photo from gallery to add photos.

Choose Take photo or Choose photo from gallery to add photos. When you ve entered all chosen details, tap finished in the upper left corner to save the contact. 21 7. Missed calls When you miss a call, the icross TELEFON logo will flash. Tap the logo to get to the list of missed calls. To call back, tap and hold the name or number of the missed call. (When you exit the list, all missed calls will get deleted.) If the person you ve called does not pick up the phone, tap the red surface to hang up. Copyright 2017 icross SOFTWARE GmbH 20

22 8. Android In order to change to the operationg system Android, tap the home button / or Exit in the main menu of the icross System Software. (Chap. 3) Choose start app: Tap the surface (here) My Launcher, (depending on the manufacturer it can have different names) to change to Android. To change to the icross System Software, tap the surface Telefon. You can choose whether you want to be able to change to Android at all time or just in that respective moment by pressing the home button and then either always or only this time Attention: When you ve chosen the feature always and you re in the operating system Android, you won t be able to get back to the icross System Software by pressing the home button. Import and export contacts via SIM card To import and export contacts via your SIM card, you have to add the application Contacts to the list Start apps in your main menu (Chap. 5.2) To start Contacts tap and hold the application Contacts beneath Start apps in the main menu.
