Justification for requested action. Our current Microsoft networking classes split the range of topics that students need to understand into three courses Active Directory (CIT 261), Network Infrastructure (CIT 214 or 262) and Administration (CIT 264 or 266). These topics were aligned with the split of the Microsoft Server 2008 exam content. The content division for the Server 2012 exams is quite different and there is no easy way to map the existing CIT Microsoft courses to the new Server 2012 exams. Essentially, the new 2012 exams split the content into different chunks that don t map to our existing courses. We are proposing three new courses that map to the new Microsoft Server 2012 exam structure. Each of the courses will cover Active Directory topics, network infrastructure topics and administration topics. The specific topics covered increase in complexity with each successive course in the three course series.
