FYE 100 FYE: First-Year Experience (Topics Vary) Mathematics: (must earn grade of C- or better) or 6 credits MTH 111 Mathematics for Early and Middle Childhood Teachers, Must take both MTH Part I and MTH 11 MTH 11 Mathematics for Middle Childhood Teachers, Part 4 English: -6 credits ENG 111 College Composition or placement (course may be waived based on ACT/SAT scores) ENG 11 Workshop in Exposition and Argument Humanities: Take four core approved from the five Humanities Perspectives listed below. (Must take a total 8 credits from General Humanities, Fine Arts: Creative Expression, Fine Arts: Aesthetic Appreciation, Cultural Literacy, Meaning and Purpose, Natural Science, Social Science, Interdisciplinary) Choose four from the following five in Humanities perspectives: Perspective: General Humanities Perspective: Fine Arts: Creative Expression Perspective: Fine Arts: Aesthetic Appreciation Perspective: Cultural Literacy Perspective: Meaning and Purpose Natural Science: Two one of which must include a lab; Please see teaching field requirements below. Reminder: A University minor is required for all Intervention Specialist majors.

5 OPTIONAL CERTIFICATE: English for the Second Language Learner (ESLL Grades K-1) This certificate may be obtained by completing all of the Mild/Moderate Education Childhood requirements and the additional listed below.
