105 Certification Data Sheet HP CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM Certification: AIS HP Thin Client Solutions [2008] Availability: 15 February 2009 Overview: This certification validates the knowledge and skills of the technical integration specialist who designs, installs and configures thin client solutions Target Audience: HP channel partners or employees who work with HP thin client solutions Summary of Requirements: The candidate must possess 1 prerequisite certification and pass 1 core requirement exam. Prerequisite: ASP Thin Client Solutions [2008] Core Requirement: Exam HP2-H05: Design & Implementation of HP Thin Client Solutions -or- Exam HP2-H03: Planning and Designing HP Thin Client Solutions (inactive) Recommended Training : Course # : Addressing the Thin Client Image & Operating System - Rev A.00 Delivery Format: Virtual Class (Live),Instructor-Led (ILT) Typical Duration: 28 hours 105

106 Why earn this certification: Thin clients are computing devices that function as an access device on a network. These solid-state devices connect over a network to a server where the bulk of the processing takes place. Thin clients have no hard drive, allowing for more secure storage of data and applications on the server. In fact, keystrokes, mouse events and screen images are all that is sent between the client and server. This makes the device much more secure than a standard desktop or notebook computer. With no hard drive, fan or other moving parts, thin clients have a much longer lifespan than standard computers and use significantly less power. Lower maintenance costs are another benefit as software application updates, virus scanning and patches can be executed on the server. Deployment costs are also reduced as thin clients can be remotely configured and do not need to be set up individually. Break-fix simply requires replacing the thin client. There is an increasing demand for solutions that include thin clients, especially in the healthcare, financial services, industrial and retail industries. When you take the training and attain this certification, you learn how to design and configure the thin client solution to meet customers business needs, and increase your company s opportunities in this market. 107 Certification Data Sheet HP CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM Certification: AIS Specialty in HP LeftHand SAN Solutions [2009] Availability: 1 June 2009 Overview: This specialty certification provides the training and skills validation for channel partners wanting to deliver HP LeftHand SAN Solutions design, installation and startup services. Target Audience: This certification is aimed at HP channel partners and employees who want to deploy business and enterprise class storage and IT solutions. They will be able to design, implement, and perform basic troubleshooting on the HP LeftHand P4000 SAN solution to solve business needs. Requirements Summary: Candidate must possess 1 prerequisite certification and pass 1 core exam in order to obtain this credential. Prerequisite: AIS HP StorageWorks [2008] certification Core Requirement: Exam HP0-J36: Designing and Implementing HP LeftHand SAN Solutions Recommended Training: Course # : HP LeftHand SAN Technology Sizing and Design Course Format: Web-based training (WBT) Typical Duration: 2.5 hours - and - Course # : HP LeftHand SAN Presales Overview POD Course Format: Web-based training (WBT) Typical Duration: 1.5 hours - and - Course # : HP LeftHand P4000 SAN Solutions Install and Configure Course Format: Instructor-led training (ILT or vilt) Typical Duration: 2 days 107

108 Why earn this certification: With the acquisition of LeftHand Networks Inc. in early 2009, HP added midrange offerings to its suite of iscsi storage solutions. HP channel partners can now address the full range of customer segments. Customer needs at the low end of the market are met with the HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array (MSA) product line. The high end is addressed by the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) line. The HP LeftHand SAN solutions fulfill customer needs in between. A pioneer of iscsi SAN technology, LeftHand Networks now part of HP delivers scalable storage software on industry-standard hardware that supports existing technology environments. LeftHand Networks portfolio extends HP virtualization solutions to the midmarket with software that runs on both existing storage and industry-standard server hardware, reducing training time and overall complexity. As a result, companies can move to a SAN for significantly lower cost, manage their data more easily, and scale their storage infrastructures incrementally as their businesses grow. Additionally, for certain virtualized environments, LeftHand Networks intelligent cloning technology can reduce the amount of disk space required for storage by up to 97 percent, while its thin provisioning features reduce power consumption by minimizing the over-provisioning of storage. LeftHand Networks also features advanced data replication technology with bandwidth management and failover protection. This makes it ideal for backup and disaster recovery operations between remote offices and a central location. The AIS Specialty in HP LeftHand SAN Solutions [2009] certification and training ensure that HP channel partners are prepared to design storage solutions based on the HP LeftHand SAN technologies, and provide installation, configuration and startup services. The core exam is also used as an elective in the ASE HP StorageWorks [2008] certification, for those partners required to have an ASE on staff and that may want the HP LeftHand SAN exposure and knowledge.
