Course Description The Wireless Solutions Architecture course is designed to examine the core concepts of wireless architecture, design and implementation. The course will focus on architecting solutions unlicensed technology, specifically enterprise Wi-Fi networks. Students will learn how to design, implement, troubleshoot and operate enterprise wireless networks. The course will be broken up into modules: Wireless Communications Overview Regulations and Standards Radio Frequency (RF) Technologies Protocol and Devices Network Security Architecture and Design The course will be a hybrid lecture and hands-on lab format but will be heavily weighted towards labs. Students will need to attend on campus. To demonstrate the core concepts, there will be a series of hands-on labs using commercially available wireless equipment. This class will not have homework assignments, but will require extensive and preparation prior to attending the labs. This is to ensure we maximize our time to allow for as much hands-on work. The key topics of the course will also provide students with a baseline to tackle the CWNA industry certification.

Wescott- CWNA: Certified Wireless Network Administrator Official Study Guide Chistopher Cox- An Introduction to LTE: LTE, LTE-Advanced, SAE and 4G Mobile Communications Hardware/Software Internet and access required. Participation and Preparation 60% Quizzes 30% Presentation 10% 100% Extra Credit- 10% uplift in your grade if you achieve a CWNA Certification Attendance Policy

3 One absence is allowed, but you will be expected to make up the lab time and reading on your own time. Additional absences will count 5% off of your final grade.
