1 INSTRUCTION MANUAL: Q7TEH1026G 1. INTRODUCTION Q7TEH1026G 24+2G Fast Ethernet Switch is specially designed for users who want to have a smooth transition from 100Mbps to 1000Mbps LAN. It provides 24 10/100Mbps auto-negotiation RJ45 ports, 2 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation Gigabit RJ45 ports and 2 Gigabit SFP fiber ports. All RJ45 ports support auto MDI/MDIX and can be used as both common ports and uplink ports to connect to backbone networks. ith the device, users can keep their original 100Mbps network cabling distribution system and solve the network data transmission problem via Gigabit connection. Meanwhile Q7TEH1026G can be used as an access device for departments to connect to its company s Gigabit backbone network via Gigabit ports. 4 2. INSTALLATION 2.1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS In order to keep the switch in the best working condition and prolong its life time, please refer to the following when installing it: 1. Please keep the switch in a dry and well ventilated environment to avoid possible poor stability due to excessive dust and humidity. 2. Keep the device in a safe and stable place to avoid any possible damage from falling. 3. Make sure there s over 10cm space around the switch for proper heat dissipation. 4. Don t put heavy articles on the Switch. 5. Make sure there is over 1.5cm vertical distance between the devices that overlap each other. 6. Please make sure the operating power accords with the switch s rated input standard 2.2 INSTALLATION METHODS There are two ways to physically install the switch: set the switch on an operation desk and mount the switch in a standard-sized, 19-inch rack. 1. Install the switch to the desktop. Correctly attach the 4 included foot pads to switch s bottom and place it stably on the operation desk. Figure4: Attaching foot pads to Switch 2. Install the switch to the standard 19-inch rack. Make sure the rack is stable. Attach the included mounting brackets to both sides of the switch with the matched screws. Figure5: Attaching L-shaped brackets to Switch Maneuver the bracket to make sure that the slots aim at and line up with screw holes, then insert the 4 screws to fix the switch. 5 2.3 APPLICATION EXAMPLE Q7TEH1026G Gigabit switch has 2 SFP fiber ports to largely extend networking coverage. It provides Mbps RJ-45, Mbps RJ-45 and SFP fiber ports multiplexing. The switch can be connected to desktop and laptop computers and other network devices. 6 3. FAQs Frequently asked questions and answers: 1. Power LED doesn t light up. Problems and solutions may be: Check whether the power cord is correctly connected or not. Make sure the power specification accords with that of the switch. 2. Link/Act LED doesn t light up. Problems and solutions may be: The switch is not connected to remote devices. Please connect them with network cables. The inner cable cores of RJ-45 connector are in wrong order. Please reorder them according to standards. Network cable length is beyond the standard range. Please reduce the cable length between the devices to the standard range (the standard distance is 100 meters). FCC STATEMENT This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
