Chassis shall have minimum 7 payload slots. Switch should have at least 4 free payload slots. Switch must support virtualization (not required from day 1) in the physical device itself, presenting the physical switch as multiple logical devices with minimum 4 Virtual Devices in a single physical switch. Switch should also support remote line card features by which the line card can be extended as a top of the rack switch in a different rack, the uplinks can be 1G/10G/40G and the line card interface should support 1G/10G Ethernet and also FCoE. The remote line card technology should be extensions of the parent switch fabric, and together they should form a distributed modular system. Bidders are not allowed to propose separate switch or any other technology to meet the remote line card requirement. 2 System Throughput The total aggregate switching capacity shall be 7 Tbps or more. Switch should support 500 Gbps or more per slot bandwidth. 3 Switch Redundancy There should not be any single point of failure in the switch. All the main components like CPU module, switching fabric, support module, system clock, power supplies and fans etc should be in redundant configuration. Components, like modules/power supplies/fan tray should be Hot Swappable

The proposed switch should have enough Memory (Flash and RAM) to hold the latest Software Release. It should support all features of switch and parameters like MAC Address Table, IP Routing Tables, VLANs etc.at their peak values as claimed in the Data Sheets of the Switch. The Switch should Support Minimum Switching (Layer 2) Performance of 900+ Mpps. Performance should be hardware based. The Minimum IPv4 Routing Performance should 900+ Mpps. Performance should be hardware based. The Backplane should be 100% Passive. The Switch should have a Truly Distributed Architecture. All Interface Modules should have all the resources for switching and Routing and should offer True Local Switching (Intra-Module and Inter-Module). The switch should be equipped with 48 10G (non blocking) SPF+ ports and upgradeable to at least 300*10G ports. 10 no. of 10g sr and 5 no. 1g sx to be quoted from day one. The switch should be equipped with 46*10/100/1000BaseT gigabit ethernet (non blocking). Connectivity & Filtering ad Should support Industry Standard Port/Link Aggregation for All Ports. Also Cross Module Link aggregation should be supported. 4 Support : 1. Support should be direct OEM support (via phone, web and ) and the same should cover hardware replacement and should also provide entitlement to upgrade and update the operating system and all essential software directly by customer. 2. Technical call Center of the OEM should be accessible 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to assist with Product use, Configuration and troubleshooting issues. OEM Eligibility Criteria: All the active components of the Server should be from the same OEM. The OEM should be an ISO-9000 and ISO certified company. Consortium: If the Bidder is not a manufacturer he should provide documentary evidence (e.g. Manufacturers Authorization Form) for having tied up with all the participating Manufacturing agencies. Tax and Duty Exemption: The Institute may provide necessary certificates for tax/duty exemption as applicable. Bid Currencies: Bids are to be quoted in Indian Rupees only.

5 Cancellation of Tender: 1. The Institute may cancel the tender processing at any point of time prior to the issuance of purchase order without assigning any reason whatsoever for unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances. 2. The Institute may also cancel the tender processing for want of any participating Bidder or if all the participating Bidders fail to qualify eligibility in terms with technical or other reasons. Technical & commercial bids should be submitted in separate sealed envelopes mentioning the contents on it. Any Technical Bid not containing the above specifications may be rejected. The Technical Bid should not contain any price information; such proposal will be rejected. Bid opening: Opening date of the sealed envelopes of the bidders containing the document marked Technical Bid, shall be announced in the Institute website ( in announcemet column. One representative of each bidder may participate at the time of opening the bids (The representative must have the valid authorization from their respective company for attending the tender opening meeting). The Commercial Bid of only those parties who qualify in Technical Bid will be opened on a later date.
