2 Network virtualization is gaining momentum across telecoms and enterprises; both of whom are under significant pressure to reduce capex/opex costs, and there is a need to reduce time for service provisioning and new service introduction. Virtual Network functions based on Open Source technologies and running on x86 hardware are replacing physical network appliances. One of the prime candidates for network virtualization is (Virtualized Customer Premise Equipment). Wipro s solution is a software defined virtualization platform for realizing diverse networking functions such as branch routing (Figure-1) and IoT gateway (Figure-2) with the click of a button, powered by open source software that is optimized for running on standard x86 hardware. Wipro s platform solution has been tested on multiple Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) vendors. Wipro s solution Virtualization host platform - This x86 based switching platform provides line rate performance at GE interfaces. The Open Source based hardened platform integrates, optimizes and tunes multiple Open Source software, such as Intel DPDK, OVS, Nagios, libnetconf, Openyuma, etc., to provide functionalities including switching, service function chaining, platform monitoring, Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and Netconf/YANG based platform feature provisioning. Platform router - Hardened Quagga based SDN router that Wipro has accelerated using Intel DPDK and OpenMUL SDN controller. 2

Platform firewall - Stateful firewall based on Open Source Linux Netfilter implemented in user space by porting conntrack on OVS DPDK environment.
