5 Prerequisite information and configuration 2 Prerequisite information and configuration Before you can add entries for the user and the phone in Cisco Unified Communications Manager and then register the Dolby Conference Phone with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, you need to collect some prerequisite information, configure the phone network settings, and confirm that you have the required Cisco licenses. Configuration process overview Prerequisite information Network firewall requirements Cisco license requirements Cisco Unified Communications Manager SIP proxy server requirements 2.1 Configuration process overview Setting up a phone begins with configuration procedures that use the Cisco Unified Communications Manager administrative web interface. The final setup step uses the administrative web interface of the Dolby Conference Phone. 1. In Cisco Unified Communications Manager, create a security profile. Note: The security profile setup is a one-time procedure necessary to create a security profile for the Cisco Unified Communications Manager. 2. In Cisco Unified Communications Manager, add a system user. 3. In Cisco Unified Communications Manager, add a device entry. 4. In the Dolby Conference Phone administrative web interface, configure the phone. 2.2 Prerequisite information Gather the prerequisite information before you begin configuring the phone. Note: Your local system administrator can provide these details. Attributes Description Notes 802.1x user name 802.1x password Do the LAN switches have Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) enabled? Optional: User name/ password will be required for the phone to access the LAN and acquire an Internet Protocol (IP) address if LAN authentication is in place. If your network is configured this way, your phone will discover your virtual LAN (VLAN) settings by turning on the enable LLDP setting. 22 February

6 Prerequisite information and configuration Attributes Description Notes Do the LAN switches support Power over Ethernet (PoE)? MAC address of Dolby Conference Phone Cisco Unified Communications Manager IP server addresses The Dolby Conference Phone requires 13 W of power to be delivered over the LAN cable. A power injector (not supplied) may also be used if PoE switches are not present. The MAC address of the Dolby Conference Phone is required as part of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager configuration. The IP addresses of the primary and secondary Cisco Unified Communications Manager servers. Turn the phone over to find the address printed on a label, or select > > Status > Device Info menu. 2.3 Network firewall requirements Network Address Translation (NAT) is not supported by the Dolby Conference Phone. Therefore, the Cisco Unified Communications Manager servers should be on the same side of the organization firewall as the Dolby Conference Phones. 2.4 Cisco license requirements Each Dolby Conference Phone requires three Device License Units (DLU) if using a software licensing model, or one Enhanced User Connect License (UCL) if using a Unified Workspace License (UWL). Note: The minimum UWL license required to support the Dolby Conference Phone is Cisco Unified Workspace License (CUWL) Basic. The minimum license required to support a third-party SIP phone is an Enhanced User Connect License (UCL). 2.5 Cisco Unified Communications Manager SIP proxy server requirements In a clustered Cisco Unified Communications Manager deployment, the subscribers (SIP proxy servers) must be members of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Group that is applied to the device pool where the Dolby Conference Phones reside. Locations for both the Device Pool as well as the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Group are found under the System menu, as shown in these figures. 22 February
