DataHub WebView - view your data on the web DataHub WebView is a new self-hosted cloud-based application for designing and delivering high quality real-time web displays. Based on Microsoft's latest Silverlight 4.0 technology and Cogent's industry leading middleware back-end, this browser-based application introduces new ways to deliver process data to anyone over a network or Internet connection. Because it's so easy to install, you can create your own private-cloud-based system in no time. You get to control who gets in, who sees which data and who has access to build new screens. DataHub QuickTrend point and click real-time trend charts The DataHub QuickTrend is a powerful trending program that can be used to display any moving data that you can read from OPC, DDE, TCP or scripted data source. As any engineer or analyst will tell you, trending your real-time data can help you investigate problems, identify possible optimization and verify new strategies. What is really impressive about the DataHub QuickTrend is its close integration with another new feature, the Data Historian. Add a data point to a trend and QuickTrend automatically configures the Historian to keep a history for that particular data point. The next time you open QuickTrend, there is all the history for you to scroll back through and study. DataHub OPC Tunneller avoid DCOM problems when networking your data Connect OPC servers and clients over a network without having to configure DCOM permissions. This also eliminates the long DCOM timeouts that can effectively shut down your application. 2 DataHub OPC Logger read and write to database systems Modern process integration often calls for factory data to be stored in a database. The Cogent DataHub provides a unique configuration interface that makes this task both quick and completely open to customization. Write data from the DataHub into any ODBC compliant database, such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, OSIsoft PI, Oracle, and many more. You can use your existing tables, or create new ones fully customized to meet your needs. Query the database to read production schedules, recipes and process setpoints from company databases straight into your OPC servers and client applications. DataHub OPC Bridge map data between different systems Normally, OPC servers only connect to OPC client applications. OPC Bridging allows you to connect OPC servers to other servers. You can also combine bridging and tunnelling to connect servers over a network or the Internet. Linear transformations allow you to modify data as it passes from one server to another. For example, you may want to change degrees Fahrenheit in one system to degrees Celsius in another. and SMS Notification send alert messages when your process changes The Cogent DataHub can be configured to send and SMS text messages whenever an alarm, or specified timer event occurs. The messages are completely customizable and can include embedded values for any point in the DataHub, including data from OPC servers, ODBC databases or Excel spreadsheets. You can easily create simple plain text messages or design more elaborate s with full HTML formatting. Data Aggregation combine data from multiple sources An OPC client can read data from multiple OPC servers, using the DataHub as the single point of contact. Reduce licensing fees for OPC client applications as they only need to make a single connection to the Cogent DataHub in order to access data from multiple servers. Writing custom applications is much easier when you only have to communicate with one server application (the Cogent DataHub has a free API to make this even easier). 3 DDE and Excel Support drag and drop live data into your spreadsheet Drag and drop point names directly from the DataHub into your Excel spreadsheet. Collect data from a variety of sources, both local and remote, then drag and drop it into Excel to produce live reports and real-time production analysis. Once you have the data inside Excel, the DataHub provides continuous updates so you always have the latest information. Save the spreadsheet, and the next time you open it the data is refreshed for you automatically. DataHub Web Server more options for web visualization In addition to the Silverlight support offered by the DataHub WebView application, the Cogent DataHub also makes it possible to display live data in a web page using other common web technologies. In this way, the DataHub can be used to deliver web visualization in Java, AJAX and ASP driven web pages. Just like the WebView application, the live web displays are also capable of writing values back to the DataHub, so you can actually change data in your factory from anywhere you have access to a web browser. Of course, you also can secure the page so it becomes read-only to protect your critical control applications. AJAX and ASP web pages can display live data on a standard desktop browser, or in mobile devices such as PDAs and web enabled phones. The Java support offered by the DataHub web server also provides support for smart phones and devices running the Android operating system. Data Source Redundancy instant fail-over when data feed connections fail For those systems that require an extra measure of protection, the Cogent DataHub supports hot-standby redundancy. Configure two identical data sources, and if one goes down, the DataHub will automatically switch to the other. Data Historian scroll back in time to view past trend data If you need to record every value in a high-speed process, a relational database like SQL Server, MySQL or Oracle might not be up to the task. The Historian feature lets your DataHub act like a flight recorder for process data, providing high speed storage and retrieval of data, capable of processing millions of transactions per second. 4 DataHub Scripting fully customize your solution The Cogent DataHub comes with a powerful scripting language that helps you customize a solution that gets the job done. Whether you need to run a script every time a specific value changes, or you need to build a custom window so that operators can enter data, the DataHub scripting feature will help you do it. Several of our customers are using DataHub scripting to produce simulation data that allows them to test critical changes before they go into production. Scripting is also very helpful when handling poorly performing server applications as it allows you to tweak the data to correct any errors that the server produces.
