PROM memory, 1 MB empty (user data), pack of 5 Description of operation The ecos208 and 209 room automation stations are used for the temperature control and the control of the lighting and window blinds. The ecos contains an operating program. This reads in all the inputs and processes the parameterised modules according to the user program and updates the outputs. Additionally, the ecos processes the required communication with other stations or visualisation PCs. The programming/parameterisation is performed via the novanet automation network. Intended use This product is only suitable for the purpose intended by the manufacturer, as described in the Description of operation section. All related product documents must also be adhered to. Changing or converting the product is not admissible. Engineering notes Fitting and power supply The ecos208, 209 is a compact unit and is suitable for wall mounting or DIN installation on a 35 mm top-hat rail according to EN Terminal covers are compulsory if the unit is mounted outside a cabinet or distribution bo. For wall mounting, the wiring bo with a width of 240 mm (accessory no ) must be used. The plant devices are connected via screw terminals, and the data line (novanet) via plug-in connectors. The following conditions must be observed: The unit must be protected against contact. The maimum available power at the LS terminals is 20 VA. The ground terminals are connected to the earth connector (PE). (24 V~ PELV) Wire cross-section Min. 0.8 mm 2 (AWG 18), ma. 2.5 mm 2 (AWG 13), taking standards into account When the power supply is being connected, the protective earth absolutely must be connected with the terminal provided. Operating unit The operating units are connected using 3(4)-core connectors. The ma. cable length is < 100 m. Temperature sensor Type of inputs Ni1000 (-10 to 95 C) The sensors are connected using two wires, with wires of 0.8 mm 2 (AWG18) having a ma. length of 55 m (180 ft), and wires of 1.5 mm 2 (AGW 15) having a ma. length of 170 m (558 ft). The resulting measured value corruption (connecting cable appro. 2 Ω) is compensated internally. The measuring voltage is pulsed to ensure that the sensor is not heated up. Analogue input: U/pot/(I) measurement Type Voltage Current Voltage measurement (without eternal potential) V ma with eternal resistance circuitry Potentiometer 2 10 kω The voltage measurement (MFA 07) is subject to the fast measuring cycle (card code 60). Potentiometer measurement If a potentiometer is to be connected, there must be an analogue 0 10 V output (parameterised to a fied value of 10 V) as the power supply. The pulse is recorded on the falling edge and may be present for an unspecified length of time. Analogue output Type of outputs 0(2)...10 V=, 10 ma ma. (per channel), source-sink, no eternal voltage! The output voltage is taken from between the relevant output terminal and a ground terminal. The outputs are protected against static discharges, but not against AC or DC that is present. Therefore, always connect the plant device (e.g. actuator) in the system first. Then check the station to verify that the two cables have no potential (0 V) with respect to the ground and each other. If this is the case, you first connect the ground cable and then the signal cable to their terminals on the station. Lighting control (dimming functions) Electronic ballasts (EB) can be actuated (dimmed) via the V output. In general, the EB does not switch off the lamp at 0 V. A separate switching contact must be used for this. N.B.: The ecos voltage output is not electrically isolated, i.e. eternal electrical isolation must be implemented to ensure that if an error is made in the wiring for the lamp, 230 V~ is not accidentally fed into the control line. The speed of the dimming depends on the user program. Digital output Different phases can be applied for each terminal-relay group. 5 If direct current is applied: L/R < 30 ms / 10 ma 0.3 A / 24 V= 250 V= Pulse durations for window blinds (EY-RC 209) To be able to control (tilt) window blinds independently of the cycle time of the user program, you can define relay pulse times for 4 control output relays on terminals (MFA 34) and (MFA 35). These times are set via internal analogue outputs (MFA 24 and 25). MFA 24 controls the relays on terminals 11 13, and MFA 25 controls the relays on terminals If the analogue output is set to 0, there is no pulse on the relay outputs. The outputs are controlled statically from the user program. If the analogue output is parameterised between 0 and 1, the relays are switched independently of the duration of the internal control command. Thus, a defined long switching command can be output for each time the button is pressed on the operating unit. The following table applies to switching commands that are longer than the corresponding pulse duration specified. If the switching command is deactivated before the pulse time has elapsed, the pulse is terminated. Otherwise the relay behaviour is undefined. Sizing of the internal transformer The internal transformer is designed for a maimum load of 20 VA on all the Triac outputs. This means that typically 4 thermal actuators of type AXT 111 (24 V~) can be actuated simultaneously. The tapping is performed on terminal LS. 6 Supplying power to the actuators via semiconductor relay. (The number of actuators is limited by the output of the semiconductor relay.) (*) 0 I II Ls Insulation to be checked: 3 4 Solid-state relay Control voltage V~ V~ Data storage A pluggable lithium button-cell battery (type CR2032) ensures that, if there is a power failure, the user data (CASE Engine data), parameterised time programmes and historical data (HDB) are retained in the SRAM. The battery enables the data to be retained and the Real Time Clock to be operated without a power supply for at least 3 years from the production date of the automation station. With a user PROM, the data can be saved permanently independently of the battery. The user EPROM can be programmed using a commercially available device and then be inserted directly into the station. 7 Commissioning The work must always be carried out when the system is disconnected from the electrical supply. Protective ESD measures must be taken before any interventions. Addressing Before it is connected to the novanet, every station must receive an address that is unique in the AS network. The AS address can be set using the 16-digit switch block. The last switch is used to set the parity. The parity switch is set so that the number of switches set to ON, including the parity switch, is an even number. Before it is connected to the novanet, every station must receive a unique address between 0 and This address is binary coded manually via the 16 DIP switches (outside the housing cover). The communication is always performed via the SAUTER novanet system bus at terminals a and b. The programming can be performed while data is being transferred. Initialisation The initialisation is performed by short-circuiting the two Ini half-moon buttons for seconds. The effect of this is that the station deletes the entire RAM and loads the user data from the user EPROM (if this eists) in order to restart the controlling and regulation functions under defined starting conditions. ) Note If no user PROM eists, all the user data (CASE Engine Plan, time programmes, HDBs) are deleted after an initialisation! Send LED This yellow LED indicates the telegram traffic for sending on the novanet. During the first start-up, or when the station is reset manually, the microprogramme and the user data are read in again. When this is completed, the yellow Send LED flashes in the rhythm of the outgoing telegrams. If this LED does not light up at all, then an incorrect or defective EPROM operating program is connected, or none at all. In this case, the station is not ready for operation. If the station comes to a stop or if an error has been detected in the RAM, this is picked up by the watchdog and the station is restarted with the data of the User EPROM. In this case, no telegrams are sent out for a brief period, and the yellow Send LED stops flashing during this period. The Send LED is inactive or undefined if the parity bit of the station addressing is set incorrectly. If the parity is incorrect, the communication with the CASE Engine software is disrupted. 8 Power LED This green LED in the bottom of the terminal area lights up continuously to indicate the operating status, i.e. the power supply is OK.
