It connects directly to existing local area networks running Windows, Unix, Linux, NetWare or Macintosh OSs. DNS1000 offers the flexibility to configure a reliable storage system for networks. The DNS1000 reduces TCO by offering easy installation, management, and remote administration. The DNS1000 supports hardware RAID 0, 1.5, 1N, 10, Matrix RAID, OCE, Online Migration and Distributed Sparing. The Matrix RAID feature supports multiple RAID levels on each disk to provide full flexibility and reliability for maximum data protection with high performance. The DNS1000 offers customers quick restoration via a dualos partition. Windows Server 003 comes preinstalled and is optimized for Advantech NAS products. It provides highly integrated fileserving and offers iscsi functionality to fulfill cost efficient IP SAN environments. It includes new features such as directory quotas, file screening, and volume shadow copy, giving users the flexibility to restore data easily without administrator help. The system will dynamically reconfigure the drives and autorebuild the lost data in the background, with no need for rebooting. Users can specify some of the HDDs as spare in advance, thus enabling the DAS5000 to recover data automatically (hotspare). Other functions from DAS5000 include hot standby, auto drive failure detection, and so on. Online Expansion The DAS5000 can easily be scaled to provide huge storage capacity. Each SCSI channel supports up to 8 drives, enabling you to expand your system up to Terabytes. New HDDs can be added to the DAS5000 spare disk cartridge online and can be scanned and identified automatically. The system will update the configuration in the background. Realtime, Remote Alarm Notification The DAS5000 is equipped with an alarm board for automatically detecting and notifying you of a power failure, fan failure and overheating within the chassis. Audible and visual alarms enable users to locate the problems immediately. You can also set your system to send the alarm notification to a remote host.
