14 3. System Assembly 3-1. Open the Chassis Cover The motherboard, RAM module, and mpci-e WLAN card can be replaced by opening the chassis cover, which is located on the back side of the system. Please follow the below steps to open the chassis cover. 1. Find the cable cover at the back of the system and pull it outwards. 2. Turn to the bottom side of the system and loosen screw (x5). 6

15 3. Find the two holes as the picture shown and push the cover upwards to release the clip. 4. Pull the cover ouwards to reach the inside of the system. 7

16 3-2. RAM Module Replacement To replace the RAM module, please open the chassis cover firstly as steps dscribed in chapter 3-1. Removing a RAM module 1. Find the memory slot at the right inside of the motherboard. 2. Flip the ejector clips outwards to remove the memory module from the memory slot. Installing a RAM moudle 3. Slide the memory module into the memory slot and press down until the ejector clips snaps in place. 8

17 HDD Replacement To remove and replace the HDD, please follow the steps below. 1. Open the HDD door at the back of the system. 2. The HDD is secured by a clip, please push the clip aside as the picture shown. 3. While pinching the HDD bracket tabs pull the HDD from the system. For easier removal pull the plastic sheet (see picture) at the same time. 9

18 4. Peripheral Installation 4-1. WLAN Installation 1. Follow the steps described in chapter 3-1 to open the chassis cover. 2. Find the mpci-e WLAN card at the right side of the motherboard. 3. There are 2 wires installed within the system: black and grey. Connect the black wire to Main connector while connect the grey to Aux connector on the card. Aux:Grey Main:Black 4. Insert the mpci-e WLAN card into the slot. 5. Fasten the screw (x1) onto the main side to fix the mpci-e WLAN card. *Note: The WLAN antenna and wires will be pre-installed prior to shipping if the function requested. 10

19 4-2. VFD Installation 1. Attach the VFD module to the system and connect the respective cables as shown in the picture. 2. Fasten the screw(x2) to secure the VFD module on the system. Note: You need to install a USB to COM driver to enable the VFD. Please refer to Appendix B for the driver instllation nd Display Installation * The installation procedure of 7 2nd display is the same as VFD. Please follow the steps decribed in chapter 4-2. After the installation, you also need a driver to enable the 7 2nd display, please refer to Appendix C for specification and driver installation. 11

20 4-4. MSR Installation 1. To install the MSR module, you have to relase the LCD plastic back cover by removing screw(x5). 2. Connect MSR cable to the connector on system side. 3. Insert MSR module in place and fasten the screw(x2) on the back to secure the module Power Adapter Installation The system is equipped with a 90W power adapter. Please plug it into the system as shown below. 1. Find the power connector on the right side of the I/O panel.(refer to chapter 2-4 f. ) 2. Please connect the power adapter directly to the DC-IN Connector. 12

21 4-6. Loading the Thermal Printer Paper Note: Do not switch off the system. The printer must be powered on when replacing the printer paper. 1. Press the button at the right side to open the thermal printer module. * Cut away the first five (5) cm of the paper, to obtain a straight edge and remove the label at the end of the roll. 2. Place the paper roll inside the printer slot, pull out a 2 or 3 cm length and then close the cover. 3. The paper will feed automatically through the printer (the system must be powered on). 13

22 4-7. Cash Drawer Installation You can install a cash drawer through the cash drawer port. Please verify the pin assignment of your cable before installation. 33 Jumper Settings Cash Drawer Power Setting Function +19V +12V JP9 Inverter Selection Function JP1 CCFL 5 6 LED COM2/COM3/COM4 Power Setting COM2, COM3 and COM4 can be set to provide power to your serial device. The voltage can be set to +5V or +12V by setting jumper JP5 and JP6 on the motherboard. When enabled, the power is available on pin 10 of the RJ45 serial connector. If you use the serial RJ45 to DB9 adapter cable, the power is on pin 9 of the DB9 connector. By default, the power option is disabled in the BIOS. Enable COM2/ COM3/COM4 power in BIOS 1. Power on the system, and press the <DEL> key when the system is booting up to enter the BIOS Setup utility. 2. Select the Advanced tab. 3. Select VGA/COM Power and LCD Brightness Configuration Ports and press <Enter> to go to display the available options. 25

36 Appendix A: Drivers Installation The shipping package includes a Driver CD in which you can find every individual driver and utility that enables you to install the drivers on the system. Please insert the Driver CD into the drive and double click on the index.htm to select the models. You can refer to the drivers installation guide for each driver in the Driver/Manual List. 28

Click the Finish button and restart your system. * The function and usability of the VFD in the PA65 is the same as Flytech stand alone VFD. Driver Location Folder/File <CD>:\Common\USB MONITOR\DisplayLink Fille Description 7" 2nd displaydriver installation Note: Make sure to connect the USB cable and begin the installation after your PC has booted. The Setup program requires about one minute for the installation. If you turn the power off or remove the USB cable while the Setup program is running, it may cause an error with the PC or the Windows operating system. The optimal resolution for this USB monitor is 800x Driver Installation Insert CD into the CD-ROM drive. Click "USB Monitor Driver" Click "I Accept". 3. The progress window appears, as shown in the figure below. 4. If you connect your USB monitor to your PC, it recognizes the monitor and the "Found New Hardware" wizard is displayed, as shown in the figure below. 31

40 When setup is finished, a monitor icon is created in the system tray at the bottom of the monitor screen, and the information for the installed USB monitor is displayed. 5. When the installation is completed, configure the following settings to use multiple monitors Right-click on the Windows Desktop and select Properties from the displayed menu. The Display Properties window appears Select the Settings tab. A list of connected USB monitors is displayed Arrange the monitors displayed in the 'Display Properties' window in the order they are actually used. Then click "OK" button. 32

41 6. When the driver setup for the USB monitor is finished, a monitor icon is created in the system tray at the bottom of the monitor screen. 7. Click the monitor icon to display a list of connected USB monitors. Select the monitor for which you want to configure the display settings. You can configure the "Screen Resolution", "Color Quality" and "Screen Rotation" settings for your monitor. 8. After the installation, you can check the configuration by following these steps. 8.1.Right-click My Computer,and select Properties - System Properties - the Hardware tab. 33

45 6. Select "COM6 (Serial Port)" for the printer and click "Next". 7. Click "Have a Disk" to select the manufacturer. Then click "Next". 8. Select "SII_CAPD" and click "Open". 37

46 9. Select "SII_PTD00 (3inch)" and click "Next". 10. Enter the printer name and click "Next". 11. Select "Do not share the printer " and click "Next". 38

47 12.To confirm the printer is installed properly, select "Yes" to print test page and click "Next". 13.Click "Finish" to exit the Add Printer Wizard. 14.Right click the SII_PTD00 (3inch) and slect "Properties" in the Pinters and Faxes Menu. 39

48 15. Select "Printing Preferences". 16. Select "Advanced". 17. Pull the column to select the Paper Size for "80 x 297mm" and click "OK" to save the setting. 40

49 18. Return to the Ports Properties, check "COM6 Serial Port" and click "Configure Port". 19. Pull the column to set the following information. Bits per second: Data bits: 8 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 Flow control: Xon / Xoff Click "OK" to save the setting. 20. Restart your computer. 41
