The SPD4tel protects against electrical power surges that can enter through the main telephone connection and is equipped with a failshort device to permanently ground the telephone line in the event of a power cross. The SPD4tel is designed for indoor applications or can be mounted inside another weatherproof enclosure for outdoor mounting applications. The SPD4telkit includes the SPD4tel plus a weatherproof enclosure to facilitate indoor or outdoor applications. The enclosure is molded of temperature and humidity resistant thermoplastic to resist cracking and discoloration. The cover can be secured with a tie wrap or similar locking device. 1 For total home protection please use SPD4home to protect your incoming AC Power lines and SPD4coax to protect your coaxial connections. 3 Installation Instructions: DO NOT INSTALL DURING ACTIVE STORM CONDITIONS. This device can be used indoor (SPD4tel), or outdoor when installed in weatherproof housing(spd4telkit). Failure to follow installation instructions can result in personal injury and/or equipment damage not covered by warranty. SPD4tel For indoor use: SPD4tel protects 2 pairs (1 pair per protector module) and is intended for indoor use only, without additional housing. Attach securely to mounting surface. Install ground wire, and if applicable, service shield, under top center nut of mounting bracket and tighten nut securely. Connect one pair (tip and ring) under the bottom nut on each protector module, tip on one post, ring on the other. Connect the customer wiring, tip and ring, under the top nut on the same protector module (protector is wired in parallel) Check all wiring for loose connections and shorting or broken wires. SPD4telkit For outdoor use: Mount weatherproof housing securely to flat surface. Conductors will enter and exit from the flexible grommet located at bottom of enclosure. Follow instruction above for SPD4tel connections. Secure enclosure with tie wrap or similar locking device. The SPD4telkit is a Parallel Device. Le SPD4tel protège contre les surtensions qui peuvent provenir du raccordement téléphonique principal. Il comporte une sécurité intégrée qui met à la terre en permanence la ligne téléphonique, en cas d inversion de polarité. Conçu pour les applications intérieures, le SPD4tel peut aussi être installé à l extérieur, dans un boîtier étanche. L ensemble SPD4telkit comprend le suppresseur de surtensions SPD4tel et un boîtier étanche, afin de faciliter l installation à l intérieur comme à l extérieur. Fait de thermoplastique résistant aux écarts de température et à l humidité, le boîtier résiste ainsi au fendillement et à la décoloration. Son couvercle peut être fixé à l aide d une attache autobloquante ou d un dispositif de blocage semblable. 5 Pour assurer la sécurité complète d une maison, ajoutez le dispositif SPD4home, qui protège les circuits d alimentation c.a., ainsi que l ensemble SPD4coax, qui protège les liaisons par câble coaxial. 7 Installation Instructions: NE PAS INSTALLER PENDANT UN ORAGE. Le dispositif SPD4tel peut être utilisé à l intérieur comme à l extérieur, s il est placé dans un boîtier étanche (SPD4telkit). Veuillez suivre les directives d installation, à défaut de quoi, vous vous exposez à des blessures et/ou risquez de causer des dommages à l équipement non couverts par la garantie. SPD4tel Pour usage intérieur : Le dispositif SPD4tel, qui protège deux paires de câbles (une par module de protection), est destiné à un usage intérieur seulement, à moins de le poser dans un boîtier additionnel. Le fixer solidement à la surface de montage. Installer le câble de mise à la terre et, s il y a lieu, le bouclier, au moyen de l écrou central supérieur du support de fixation, puis serrer l écrou fermement. Raccorder une paire (tête et nuque) sous l écrou inférieur de chaque module de protection, la tête sur une borne, la nuque sur l autre. Raccorder le câblage client, tête et nuque, sous l écrou supérieur du même module de protection (le module est câblé en parallèle). Vérifier tout le câblage pour vous assurer qu il est bien raccordé et qu il n y a pas de connexion lâche, de fil endommagé ou de risque de court-circuit. SPD4telkit Pour usage extérieur : Fixer solidement le boîtier étanche sur une surface plane. Les conducteurs entreront et sortiront par le passe-câble souple situé à la base du boîtier. Suivre les directives ci-dessus pour raccorder le SPD4tel. Bloquer le couvercle du boîtier avec une attache autobloquante ou un moyen de fixation semblable. L ensemble SPD4telkit est un dispositif parallèle.
