Do not use the speaker if it is visibly damaged or if the cable or the AC adapter is defective. If the speaker or accessories are damaged, they must be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer, its service department or a similarly qualified person to avoid danger. 11
12 Safety The housing must not be opened and repairs may only be performed specialists. Contact a repair center that is specialized in our products. We categorically reject any liability or warranty claims that are a result of repairs attempted by the user, improper connections or incorrect operation of the device. Never touch the speaker if your hands are wet. Do not place any objects that have open flames on the product, e.g., candles, or objects filled with liquid, such as vases. Only use the speaker in regions with tropical and/or temperate climates. WARNING! The AC adapter is not protected against damage caused by water jets or splashes. Never remove the AC adapter by pulling on the cord. Always pull the AC adapter itself out of the socket. Never carry the device by the cord. Keep the speaker and the AC adapter away from open flames and hot surfaces. Place the power cord in such a way that there is no danger of tripping. Do not bend the cord and do not place the cord on sharp edges. Never store the speaker in such a way that it could fall into a tub or sink. Do not insert any objects into the speaker. Do not leave the speaker unattended during operation. NOTE! Danger of damage! Using the device for purposes other than that which was intended can lead to damage. When installing and mounting the speaker, keep a distance of 10 cm from all sides to ensure adequate ventilation. Pay particular attention to the fact that device should not covered by newspapers, table cloths or curtains. Place the speaker on an easily accessible, level, dry, heat-resistant and sufficiently sturdy work surface. Do not place the speaker on a corner or at the edge of a work surface. To keep it from overheating, never place the speaker directly on a wall or under a wall cabinet. Never place the speaker on or near hot surfaces (e.g. stove burners, etc.). 13

Damage to the electronics or the accessories due to external factors such as impact, falling or other influences is not covered by the warranty and such repairs are billable. WARNING! Sounds that are too loud cause pressure waves that can damage hearing. In order to prevent hearing damage, avoid exposure to loud sounds over a prolonged period of time. 14

Take the speaker out of the packaging and see if the device itself or any of its components have been damaged. If this is the case, do not use the speaker. Contact the service address of the manufacturer listed on the warranty card. 15
16 Using the Device Using the Device Power supply Use the AC adapter supplied with the speaker. To power the speaker, plug the jack of the AC adapter 2 into the DC IN 12V 20 input jack and then plug into a properly installed outlet. WARNING! Electricity is dangerous! Before you use the speaker, observe the following: Ensure that the power frequency matches that of the device. Do not unplug the AC adapter or the speaker if your hands are wet. NOTE! If you do not intend to use the device for a prolonged period of time, unplug the AC adapter from the outlet and from the device itself. Use of the input jack AUX IN You can also play other music sources (ipod, MP3 player or other digital audio players) through the device's speakers by connecting the AUX input jack (AUX IN 7 ) to the LINE OUT jack or the headphone jack of the external unit. 1. Plug one end of the AUX cable (cable not supplied) into the AUX IN 7 input jack and connect the other end of the cable to a headphone jack or LINE OUT jack of your external device. The AUX IN jack 7 is located on the front side of the device. 16
17 Using the Device 2. Turn the volume control 13 on the speaker to the lowest setting. 3. Press the POWER button 11 to turn on the device. 4. You can now use the device that you have connected to the speaker. 5. Carefully adjust the VOLUME CONTROL 13 on the speaker and your external device until you reach a comfortable listening volume. 6. When connected via the LINE OUT jack of the external device, you only need to adjust the volume on the speaker. When connected through the headphone jack of the external device, you can adjust the desired volume on both your external device and the speaker. 17
18 Using the Device Using Bluetooth Pairing The term pairing refers to the process during which two devices with Bluetooth are wirelessly connected to each other for the first time. This allows devices to be able to recognize each other and to establish direct communication between both of them. 1. Press the POWER button 10 to turn on the speaker. 2. Activate the Bluetooth function on your external device and turn on the scan function to locate the "Maginon PS-15E" speaker. (Please also refer to the instructions for the external device, especially the instructions related to adding/setting up a device with Bluetooth.). 3. Once you see the list of devices on your external unit, select Maginon PS-15E from the list. 4. A few seconds later, the BLUETOOTH LED 12 will flash and you will hear a beep, which is confirmation that the pairing has been successful. Start playing music through the external device. 5. If you want to pair another device via Bluetooth: Press the button /PAIR 19 and hold it. The BLUETOOTH LED 12 will flash and the device will switch again to pairing mode. 6. If no connection can be established, switch off the speaker and try it again. It may be necessary to reduce the distance between the devices you wish to pair, or one of the two devices could also already be paired with another Bluetooth device. 18
19 Using the Device 7. Once the connection has been successfully established it is automatically saved in the speaker and in the Bluetooth device. This way, the devices will automatically connect as soon as the speaker and the Bluetooth device are within range of each other again. 8. When you turn the speaker on, it will automatically connect to the Bluetooth device to which it was last connected. 9. Press and hold the / PAIR 19 button for 3 seconds to disconnect a paired Bluetooth device. Playing music from an external device using Bluetooth Once you have successfully managed to pair devices, you can use wireless playback from your external devices 1. If you are not playing from an external device, press the play button on your external device or the /PAIR 19 button on the speaker to make the external device play music. 2. Press the SKIP+ 17 button or the SKIP- 16 button to search for different music files on your external device. 3. You can adjust the volume either with the VOLUME CONTROL 13 on the speaker or on the volume control on your external Bluetooth device. Carefully adjust it until you reach a comfortable listening volume. 4. When you receive incoming calls on your cell phone, the music will stop playing until you have ended the call. 19
