Default settings: IP: ; Subnet Mast: ; Gateway: ; Serial Port: The IP address and gateway can be changed if required. The Serial Port cannot be changed. Connect the Ethernet port of the control device and TCP/IP port of FMM16, and set the same network subnet for the 2 devices, users are then able to control the device via the web-based GUI or designated TCP/IP communication software Control Modes The AVG-FMM16 can be controlled by a PC without Ethernet access or PC(s) within a LAN. Controlled by a PC without Ethernet access Connect a computer to the TCP/IP port of the AVG-FMM16, and set its network subnet to the same as the AVG-FMM16 s. Same network subnet as the switcher
29 Controlled by PC(s) in a LAN Connect the AVG-FMM16 to a router and several PCs to setup a LAN (as shown in the following figure). Set the network subnet of FMM16 to the same as the router s, then the PCs within the LAN are able to control AVG-FMM16. Internet Router TCP/IP PC CAT5e Follow these steps to connect the devices: Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Connect the TCP/IP port of the AVG-FMM16 to the Ethernet port of the PC with a straight-thru CAT5e/6. Set the PC s network settings to the same as the AVG-FMM16 s. Set the AVG-FMM16 s network subnet to the same as the router. Set the PC s network subnet to the original. Step 5. Connect the AVG-FMM16 and PC(s) to the router. PC(s) within the LAN is able to control the AVG-FMM16 asynchronously Control via TCP/IP Communication Software 1. Connect a computer and FMM16 to the same network. Open the TCPUDP software (or any other TCP/IP communication software) and create a connection, enter the IP address and port of FMM16 (default IP: , port:4001):
30 2. After connecting successfully, you can enter commands to control the AVG- FMM16, as below: Enter your command here. Commands are the same as the previously listed RS232 commands. Here you will receive the feedback when a command is sent Control via the web-based Graphic User Interface The AVG-FMM16 comes with a built-in GUI for convenient TCP/IP control. The GUI allows users to interact with FMM16 through graphical icons and visual indicators. Access the GUI interface through any one of the following methods: 1.
