The WP4x00 MK ll Control Concept ensures optimal operation, high security, and advanced data collection. The concept typically consists of a power supply/backbone module, a WP4100 MK ll controller, a grid measurement module as well as an analog/digital I/O module dependent on the specific configuration task. The WP4x00 MK ll Control Concept makes it possible to have redundant solutions. The concept is constructed as a plug-and-play system with automatic module detection and error reporting. Furthermore, the WP4100 MK ll is equipped with 10/100Mbit Ethernet COM-port for park communication as well as backbone connection via WP-Line 111 MK ll. The WP4100 MK ll controller is part of- and surveys the hardwired safety chain. The WP4100 MK ll controller contains internal maintenancefree power back-up, so essential data will not be lost in case of system power failure. WP4100 MK ll is based on a high-speed CPU. The WP4100 MK ll controller contains an advanced OS4000 operation system software that has the TCP/IP protocol stack, web server, PC-compatible file system on an USB disk, plug-and-play identification/configuration of all WP-Line modules, status code system, a 30-year summation structure, and a total log system. It is easy to up-/download data/programs via an USB flash drive. The USB disk can also be used as storage for extended data collection. It can handle up to 10 simultaneous/independent application programs in the turbine control, park power management, dump-load control, condition monitoring, camera control, customer-adapted communication protocols etc. The WP4100 MK ll controller is using eventbased communication, which means that only changed values are transmitted via the network. The WP4100 MK ll controller can automatically update the program of the WP-Line modules via the network. OPTION: The WP4100 MK ll controller supports the IEC PLC programming standard. Furthermore, the controller is equipped with two high-speed gigabit interfaces, one for communication in the wind farm and one for backbone communication to the distributed I/O modules. It also features safety chain relay logic that integrates with the safety system to fulfill the requirements in the ISO standard. The controller is equipped with internal maintenance-free power back-up, ensuring all data is stored in the event of system power failure (UPS shutdown/failure) and program update. The USB 2.0 port can be used with USB devices complying with the USB Mass Storage Class Specification, like USB FLASH drives and hard disc drives, allowing storage of up to 2 TB of data. The OS42xx Operating System API is 100% backwards compatible with the OS4000 and OS4100 operating systems this ensures that existing applications can be used with the WP4200 MK II controller without any modification or recompilation. The module handles the execution of up to 10 different synchronous/asynchronous applications running in parallel. As an example this can be: turbine control application, park control application, standard communication protocols, customer specific communication protocols, CoDeSys RTS, etc. The controller supports the IEC (CoDeSys) PLC programming languages as well as advanced programming in C and C++, using PEPTOOL or other programming tool of your choice. The controller uses the advanced OS42xx Operating System software, featuring the FAILSAFE FLASH file system, TCP/ IP protocol stack, WEB-server, plug-and-play identification/ configuration of all WP-Line modules, status code system, 30-year summation structure, menu system and log systems. The module is powered from the WP-Line BUS. The WP4x00 MK ll controller can automatically update the programs via the network. The communication to the WP4x00 MK ll controller is event-based, which means that only changed values are transmitted via the network. Analog part is based on 16bit precision ADC. The WP-Line 151 MK ll module performs three basic functions: Calculates main grid parameters Calculates grid quality parameters Provides WP4x00 MK ll controller with these data Main grid parameters like voltage, current, active and reactive powers, etc. are used by WP4x00 control application for turbine overall control. 12 WP-Line 151 MK ll Grid Measurement Precise DSP algorithms and high update rate make support for FRT/LVRT Apart from measuring main grid parameters the WP-Line 151 MK ll module monitors a wide range of grid quality parameters. This monitoring is carried out in two directions: Asynchronous detection of most important grid disturbances and collection of correspondent signals containing disturbances with pre- and post- data. Collected data is then sent to the WP4x00 MK ll controller and further to Mita- Teknik s surveillance system. (Grid Trigger log functionality) Permanent monitoring of live grid quality data (Grid Oscilloscope functionality) Flexible configuration of grid quality measurements. Channels and grid disturbance type to monitor as well as conditions for disturbance data collection are user configurable The Grid Trigger Log functionality includes detection of: Transient events caused by switching events in the grid. Reducing grid disturbances number caused by transient events leads to increased generator s lifetime Voltage fluctuations - sag and swell. Voltage sag is a grid disturbance typically caused by a short circuit. Voltage swell is a grid disturbance caused by earth fault on another phase. Detection and analysis of these events may allow to avoid insulation ageing Frequency deviations as consequence of wind generator s trip leading to short time under- or overvoltage Unbalance disturbance due to problems with a phase weak connection leading to increased load on one phase After reviewing in Mita-Teknik s surveillance system the detected grid disturbance data, including raw waveforms, are stored in the surveillance system database what makes possible to store large number of grid quality historical data. The WP-Line 151 MK ll module is time-synchronized with WP4x00 MK ll controller. Grid Oscilloscope functionality supports collection of live grid quality data on up to 9 channels. This data includes: Frequency data with 0,01 Hz accuracy. Phase unbalance parameter. Voltage and current data on all channels. Flicker index measurement according to ІЕС60868 standard. The module has been designed to undertake grid voltage measurements via the WP3090 interface. Relay output for fast switching (customerspecific). In the case of detection of any of these events the data on nine channels is collected with proper header information about grid disturbance type, timestamp of detection, channel number, etc. and transferred to Surveillance system for further analysis. COM1 can be configured to RS232/422/485 or SSI, COM2 can be configured to RS422/485 or SSI via the software - as per requirement. The module also consists of various I/O s.
