3 1 S10 Online System 3 1 S10 Online System iloq S10 Online System is an extension to the S10 locking system. The main features of iloq S10 Online System are: Remote management of iloq lock cylinders. Remote programming of iloq keys. Remote management of doors equipped with electric locks and iloq lock cylinders. The doors can be opened by: Key reader, in which case the key is also updated when the door is opened with the key. Key reader and a PIN code. RFID reader. RFID reader and a PIN code. Using a code. This option is meant to provide access for people, such as visitors, who do not and will not have a key. Calendar controls. iloq S10 Online System consists of the components below: Net Bridge. Net Bridge operates as a link between the iloq S10 server and the Door Modules and other devices on the bus. Door Module. Door Module is a bus device located in the vicinity of a door, and it controls devices installed on the door, such as a lock cylinder, an electric lock, a key reader and an RFID reader. Programming Hot Spot. Programming Hot Spot is a bus device used to update the key, and to download tasks for offline locks to the Programmer. RFID reader. RFID reader is used to control an electric lock and it is always connected to a Door Module. The system can consist of one or several Net Bridges, and you can connect several bus devices to each Net Bridge. You can manage the S10 Online System devices through the S10 Manager software. For this manual, see S10 Online System in PDF. 1.2 Licenses Each bus device connected to the main bus requires a license. In other words, each Door Module requires a license, and an independent Programming Hot Spot requires a license. If the Programming Hot Spot is connected to a Door Module as a reader for controlling the door, it requires no separate license. Net Bridge requires no license. 1.3 Net Bridge N100 Net Bridge operates as a link between the iloq S10 server, Door Modules and other devices on the bus. Mount Net Bridge in a secure indoor location, such as a technical room, where an Ethernet connection and a mains power supply are available. The buses for doors and Programming Hot Spots are cabled from Net Bridge. Detailed cabling instructions are available in a separate Planning Guidelines document. Net Bridge is depicted in the figure below.

5 1 S10 Online System Net Bridge Connections The Net Bridge connections are: ETHERNET / POE Ethernet LAN connection with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. DC Power input for an external power supply. Net Bridge always requires an Ethernet connection and power supply. Power supply can be provided through an Ethernet switch supporting PoE, or by an external power supply. The maximum number of connected bus devices depends on several factors. These are: The power supply, that is, the available power. The power consumption of the bus device. The cabling distance, that is, the power loss of the cable. If Net Bridge is powered by: PoE, the available power for bus devices is 10 W. PoE+, the available power for bus devices is 20 W. External power supply, the available power for bus devices is 30 W. RS-485 1/2/3 on two rows Main bus connections (6 pcs). There is one main bus, which can be divided to six parallel branches 1. To the main bus, you can connect: Door Modules Programming Hot Spots. The USB host is used to upload device configuration data from a USB memory stick to Net Bridge. You create the configuration data while adding Net Bridge to iloq S10 Manager software. TOKEN A locking-system specific token is required when communicating with the server and when handling encrypted programming packages. You program the token while adding Net Bridge to iloq S10 Manager software. 1.4 Door Module N102 Door Module is a bus device located in the vicinity of a door, and it controls devices installed on the door, such as a lock cylinder, a key reader, an RFID reader, an electric lock, an electric strike plate, a magnet lock, and so on. Door Module is hosted by Net Bridge; it does not operate independently. Door Module has several different use cases, and it can be used both as unprogrammed or programmed. The most common use cases are: Connecting lock cylinders for remote management. Connecting a calendar-controlled electric lock. Connecting a key reader to control an electric lock. Connecting an RFID reader to control an electric lock. Connecting a key reader to control an alarm system. Connecting an RFID reader to control an alarm system. Connecting readers to control an electric lock by a key and PIN code combination. Connecting a code-controlled electric lock. Door Module is meant to be installed to a dry indoor environment. If you must install Door Module outdoors, for example, to control a gate, ensure that it is not exposed to rain. 1 There are also configurations that have three physical connectors, each of which can have two branches, totalling six.

6 1 S10 Online System 6 Door Module is depicted in the figure below Door Module Connections The Door Module connections are: RS-485 IN Main bus input connection. The main bus is brought in to the Door Module from the other bus device main bus output, or from Net Bridge. The main bus consists of the data bus and bus device power supply. RS-485 OUT Main bus output connection. From the main bus output, you can extend the bus to the next bus device. CYLINDERS You can connect two lock cylinders to this connection, in which case you can remotely manage the lock cylinders. The lock cylinders must be on the same door or on parallel doors having the same ground potential. In other words, the lock cylinder cabling distance from the Door Module must be 10 m or less. If the distance is longer, use two Door Modules, one for each cylinder. INPUTS - IN 1/IN 2 These potential-free inputs control relay outputs K1 and K2, or the Key reader STAT2 LED, according to the selected operating mode. INPUTS - ET A potential-free contact information connected to this input, can be used to control a conditional access right when the Door Module is programmed as a Key switch. READER RS-485 The reader bus is a separate bus from the main bus. It controls the key reader and the RFID reader. A reader connected to the reader bus controls relay outputs K1 and K2 according to the selected operating mode. RELAY K1/K2 You can connect relay outputs K1 and K2 to control an external device, such as an electric lock. You can control the relay outputs according to the selected operating mode either by using a lock cylinder, key/rfid reader, code, calendar control, or by external device, such as a door opening button, connected to input connections IN1 and IN Key Reader / Hot Spot N103 Key reader / Hot Spot can be used for two different purposes: As a programming hot spot only. Independently connected to the main bus, the device is used for updating keys remotely, and for downloading programming tasks to the Programmer, for programming offline locks. As a key reader. Connected to the door module READER RS-485 bus, the device controls the electric lock, and the key is also updated when the door is opened. In this configuration, the device cannot be used for downloading programming tasks to iloq Programmer, for programming offline locks N103.1 The N103.1 Key reader is depicted in the figure below:

If the Key reader is exposed to rain, use weather protection cover A10.84 that is available as an accessory. 1.6 RFID Reader N104 RFID Reader is a device located in the vicinity of a door. RFID Reader is connected to the Door Module READER RS-485 bus; it has no other connections. RFID Reader is used to control an electric lock by an iloq key equipped with an iloq RFID tag. If RFID Reader is equipped with a keypad, it can be used to provide access to the door with a code only. When installing: If you place the readers closer than 10 cm from each other, or install the reader on a metal surface, the reading distance can be shorter. If you install two readers close to each other, we recommend installing a sheet metal plate between the readers. Do not install a reader to the vicinity of strong electromagnetic disturbance sources. Do not cut the cable shorter than 10 cm. You can leave the wires not mentioned in the connection instructions disconnected. However, these cables must not be in short cut with each other. If installed directly on a metal surface, the reading distance may be shortened. To avoid this, we recommend using installation plate A between the door and the reader. The connections are: Red wire DC+ Black wire DC- White wire A Green wire B

9 1 S10 Online System N104.1 This is an RFID Reader with a keypad, MIFARE. The key equipped with a corresponding MIFARE Classic tag is K10S.5. Communication is not encrypted. RFID Reader N104.1 is depicted in the figure below N104.2 This is an RFID Reader without a keypad, MIFARE. The key equipped with a corresponding MIFARE Classic tag is K10S.5. Communication is not encrypted. RFID Reader N104.2 is depicted in the figure below N104.3 This is an RFID Reader with a keypad, MIFARE DESFire. The key equipped with a corresponding MIFARE DESFire tag is K10S.6. This reader is capable of reading both types of tags/keys K10S.5 and K10S.6. Air communication between the reader and the RFID is encrypted when using the corresponding encrypted tag, K10S.6. Also, the wire communication between the reader and the door module is encrypted. RFID Reader N104.3 is depicted in the figure below.

10 1 S10 Online System N104.4 This is an RFID Reader without a keypad, MIFARE DESFire. The key equipped with a corresponding MIFARE DESFire tag is K10S.6. This reader is capable of reading both types of tags/keys K10S.5 and K10S.6. Air communication between the reader and the RFID is encrypted when using the corresponding encrypted tag, K10S.6. Also, the wire communication between the reader and the door module is encrypted. RFID Reader N104.4 is depicted in the figure below. 1.7 Bus Addresses and Termination Each device connected to the main bus must have its own, unique bus address. Net Bridge only has one main bus, even if it is branched. Net Bridge automatically distributes bus addresses. If you have a device that has manual address dip switches, you can ignore them. Terminate the last device on the bus or on the branch if the bus does not continue to the next device, by setting the TERMINATI dip to the position. If there are several branches on the bus, terminate the last device on each branch. 1.8 Deploying the S10 Online System Hardware This chapter describes how to deploy the S10 Online System hardware. Note: The PDF version of this guide contains both internal links, and external links to the iloq S10 Manager User Manual. Internal links contain a page number. External links do not contain a page

In the case of external links, see the corresponding section in the iloq S10 Manager User Manual Preparing Net Bridge This section describes how to prepare the Net Bridge. Before you start: Connect the Net Bridge according to separate instructions. You can also connect the bus devices at this phase, if necessary. You can test the server connection at the office before installation without any bus devices, if both the office and the site use the DHCP protocol to provide the IP address and other related network configuration information. Remove the empty token from the token holder in the Net Bridge. You will need a USB memory stick. The memory stick must not be encrypted, and it must be formatted as FAT32. Ensure that you have the appropriate licenses for the bus devices that will be connected to the Net Bridge. You will need the locking system master password in this procedure. Proceed as follows. 1. Select Administration > Browse network modules. 2. Select Add network module. The Adding a network module wizard is opened. 3. Select Add network module. 4. Enter the basic information for the network module, as follows: Name Enter a name for the new network module in this field. Use a descriptive name. You can use, for example, a name that reminds you of the network module location. Type Select Net Bridge in the drop down menu. License Select Net Bridge license type. Two new fields become available: Count of reserved bus devices Define the number of bus devices you are planning to connect to this Net Bridge. Count of connected bus devices This flow field indicates the current number of connected devices. As we are adding a Net Bridge, the count is 0. Has key programming hot spot Select this check box if the network module will have at least one Programming Hot Spot connected to it. Select the Active radio button. You can select the Not in use radio button if you do not have an active license yet, but you want to configure the network module anyway. 5. Select Next. 6. Select Next. 7. Fill in the network module settings as follows: Service address Service address is the locking system server address. Accept the suggested address. User ID Select the User ID for the network module in the drop-down menu. If there are no users in the User ID drop-down menu, select Add new network module user to add a new user, and follow the wizard. Tip: Usually one network module user for each locking system is enough, even with several network modules in use.

12 1 S10 Online System 12 Password Enter the Password for the network module user, in this field. 8. Select Next. 9. If necessary, fill in the local network settings. If the Net Bridge is located in a network where IP addresses are obtained from a DHCP server, you do not have to fill in the local network settings. However, if this is not the case, ask the required data from the network administrator. 10.Select Next. 11.If necessary, change the number of the firewall port for receiving messages. Ask the required data from the network administrator. 12.Select Next. 13.Connect a memory stick to the computer USB port. 14.Select the Save file to memory stick radio button, and select the disk drive of the memory stick (for example, J:\). The program adds the file name automatically. Alternatively, you can select the Save file to disk radio button to save the file onto your hard disk, in the directory of your choice, and copy it to the memory stick later. If this is the case, remember to paste the file to the root directory of the memory stick (not to a subdirectory). 15.Select Next. 16.A summary screen is shown. 17.Select Ready. 18. Type in the locking system master password. 19.Insert the empty token that you took from the token holder, to the Programmer socket. Ensure that the token clicks to its place. 20.Wait until the token is programmed. 21.Insert the login token to the the Programmer socket. Ensure that the token clicks to its place. 22.Select Close. 23.Insert the token to the token holder in the Net Bridge. 24.Insert the memory stick to the Net Bridge USB port. 25.Switch the switch to. 1. An internal test procedure is started. 2. Check that the USB indicator blinks green five times, indicating that it is reading data from the memory stick. It it does not blink green, the Net Bridge cannot read the memory stick. If this is the case, try to add the Net Bridge with another memory stick, or format the memory stick to the FAT32 file system. 3. Constant green FUNC, SYSTEM STATUS and possibly SERVER CN. are illuminated to indicate that the server connection has been successfully tested. 26.If SERVER CN. is illuminated green, the Net Bridge has reported itself to the server. 27.Switch the switch to STANDBY. 28.The Net Bridge is now ready for use. 29.Place the network module onto the floor plan. The procedure is similar to the process of placing locks onto the floor plan. For more information, see section Placing Locks onto a Floor Plan Quick Guides This chapter lists the most common S10 Online System use cases and their configuration instructions Connecting a Programming Hot Spot This section describes how to connect a Programming Hot Spot.

13 1 S10 Online System 13 Proceed as follows. 1. Ensure that the Net Bridge switch is on STANDBY. 2. Connect a Hot Spot to a prepared Net Bridge, or continue the bus from the last connected bus device on the main bus, according to the connection diagram in iloq S10 Online System - Planning Guidelines. Note: If you continue the bus from another bus device, remember to disable the termination (TERMINATI = ) from the device from which you continue the bus. 3. Set the TERMINATI (TERM) dip switch to the position, if this bus device will be the last device on this bus branch. Otherwise, set it. 4. Write down the serial number of the Hot Spot. 5. When you have also connected the other bus devices, finalize the Net Bridge configuration once (see Finalizing the Bus Device Configuration on Net Bridge on page 18) and continue this procedure. 6. On iloq S10 Manager software, check that the connected Hot Spot has been reported to the Net Bridge device list. You can recognize the Hot Spot by its serial number Connecting a Remotely Managed Lock Cylinder This section describes how to connect a lock cylinder to be remotely managed. Proceed as follows. 1. Ensure that the Net Bridge switch is on STANDBY. 2. Connect Door Module to a prepared Net Bridge, or continue the bus from the last connected bus device, according to the connection diagram in iloq S10 Online System - Planning Guidelines. Note: If you continue the bus from another bus device, remember to disable the termination (TERMINATI = ) from the device from which you continue the bus. 3. Connect a programmed lock cylinder to the CYLINDERS L1 or L2 connector on the Door Module, according to the connection instructions. 4. Set the operation mode 1 by the OPTIS dip switches as follows: S1 S2 S3 S4 5. Set the TERMINATI (TERM) dip switch to the position, if this bus device will be the last device on this bus branch. Otherwise, set it. 6. When you have also connected the other bus devices, finalize the Net Bridge configuration once (see Finalizing the Bus Device Configuration on Net Bridge on page 18) and continue this procedure. 7. On iloq S10 Manager software, check that the orange background color for the lock has disappeared from the lock grid view. Remember to refresh the grid view by pressing F Controlling an Electric Lock by a Calendar This section describes how to connect an electric lock, magnet lock or electric strike plate, and so on, to be calendar controlled. Proceed as follows. 1. Ensure that the Net Bridge switch is on STANDBY.

Note: If you continue the bus from another bus device, remember to disable the termination (TERMINATI = ) from the device from which you continue the bus. 3. Connect an electric lock control to the relay output K1 or K2, according to the electric lock manufacturer's instructions. Note: Do not use the bus power (DC+, DC-) for powering the electric lock. 4. Set the operation mode 2 by the OPTIS dip switches as follows: S1 S2 S3 S4 5. Set the TERMINATI (TERM) dip switch to the position, if this bus device will be the last device on this bus branch. Otherwise, set it. 6. When you have also connected the other bus devices, finalize the Net Bridge configuration once (see Finalizing the Bus Device Configuration on Net Bridge on page 18) and continue this procedure. 7. On iloq S10 Manager software, check that the connected Door Module has been reported to the Net Bridge device list. You can recognize the Door Module by its serial number. 8. Set the connected relay as a calendar controlled door. See Adding Calendar Controlled Doors 9. Add the calendar, unless you already have a suitable calendar for the door. See Adding a Door Control Calendar. 10.Add the control to the calendar, unless you already have a suitable calendar with controls. See Adding a Direct Control to a Calendar. 11.Attach the calendar to the door. See Attaching Calendars to Calendar Controlled Doors Controlling an Electric Lock by a Code-access Group This section describes how to connect an electric lock, magnet lock or strike plate, and so on, to be codeaccess group controlled. Proceed as follows. 1. Ensure that the Net Bridge switch is on STANDBY. 2. Connect Door Module to a prepared Net Bridge, or continue the bus from the last connected bus device, according to the connection diagram in iloq S10 Online System - Planning Guidelines. Note: If you continue the bus from another bus device, remember to disable the termination (TERMINATI = ) from the device from which you continue the bus. 3. Connect an RFID reader (with a keypad) to the READER RS-485 bus on the Door Module, according to the connection diagram. 4. Connect an electric lock control to the relay output K1 or K2, according to the electric lock manufacturer's instructions. Note: Do not use the bus power (DC+, DC-) for powering the electric lock. 5. Set the operation mode 2 by the OPTIS dip switches as follows:

15 1 S10 Online System 15 S1 S2 S3 S4 6. Set the TERMINATI (TERM) dip switch to the position, if this bus device will be the last device on this bus branch. Otherwise, set it. 7. Write down the serial number of the Door Module. 8. When you have also connected the other bus devices, finalize the Net Bridge configuration once (see Finalizing the Bus Device Configuration on Net Bridge on page 18) and continue this procedure. 9. On iloq S10 Manager software, check that the connected Door Module has been reported to the Net Bridge devices list. You can recognize the Door Module by its serial number. 10.Set the connected relay as a calendar controlled door. See Adding Calendar Controlled Doors 11.Add the calendar, unless you already have a suitable calendar for the door. See Adding a Door Control Calendar. 12.Add the code-access group control to the calendar, unless you already have a suitable calendar with controls. See Adding a Code-access Group Control to a Calendar. 13.Attach the calendar to the door. See Attaching Calendars to Calendar Controlled Doors Controlling an Electric Lock by a Key Reader or RFID Reader This section describes how to connect an electric lock, magnet lock or electric strike plate, and so on, to be controlled by a Key Reader or an RFID Reader. In this scenario, you program the Door Module as a Key Switch, which has its own access rights. For this, you have to connect the power supply and a Key Reader to the Door Module, during the first programming. Proceed as follows. 1. Ensure that the Net Bridge switch is on STANDBY. 2. Add, format and program the Door Module to the lock list as a Key Switch. Select the type of lock cylinder as N102. Select the type of lock as Networked. 3. Connect Door Module to a prepared Net Bridge, or continue the bus from the last connected bus device, according to the connection diagram in iloq S10 Online System - Planning Guidelines. Note: If you continue the bus from another bus device, remember to disable the termination (TERMINATI = ) from the device from which you continue the bus. 4. Connect the Key Reader or RFID Reader to the Door Module READER RS-485 bus according to the connection diagram. 5. Connect an electric lock control to the relay output K1, according to the electric lock manufacturer's instructions. Note: Do not use the bus power (DC+, DC-) for powering the electric lock. 6. Set the operation mode 3 by the OPTIS dip switches as follows: S1 S2 S3

16 1 S10 Online System 16 S4 7. Set the TERMINATI (TERM) dip switch to the position, if this bus device will be the last device on this bus branch. Otherwise, set it. 8. When you have also connected the other bus devices, finalize the Net Bridge configuration once (see Finalizing the Bus Device Configuration on Net Bridge on page 18) and continue this procedure. 9. On iloq S10 Manager software, check that the orange background color for the lock has disappeared from the lock grid view. Remember to refresh the grid view by pressing F Controlling an Alarm System by a Key Reader or RFID Reader This section describes how to control an alarm system by a Key Reader or an RFID Reader. In this scenario, you program the Door Module as a Key Switch, which has its own access rights. For this, you have to connect the power supply and a Key Reader to the Door Module, during the first programming. Proceed as follows. 1. Ensure that the Net Bridge switch is on STANDBY. 2. Add, format and program the Door Module to the lock list as a Key Switch. Select the type of lock cylinder as N102. Select the type of lock as Networked. 3. Connect Door Module to a prepared Net Bridge, or continue the bus from the last connected bus device, according to the connection diagram in iloq S10 Online System - Planning Guidelines. Note: If you continue the bus from another bus device, remember to disable the termination (TERMINATI = ) from the device from which you continue the bus. 4. Connect the Key Reader or RFID Reader to the Door Module READER RS-485 bus according to the connection diagram. 5. If you connected the Key Reader, terminate it by setting the TERMINATI dip switch to the position. 6. Connect an alarm control to the relay output K1, according to the alarm system manufacturer's instructions. 7. If you connected the Key Reader, you can connect the alarm system status information to control the lowermost light of the Key Reader, to indicate the alarm system status. Connect the alarm system status information to the Door Module IN 1 to control green light, and/or IN 2 to control red light. The status information you bring from the alarm system must be potential-free. 8. Set the operation mode 5 by the OPTIS dip switches as follows: S1 S2 S3 S4 9. Set the TERMINATI (TERM) dip switch to the position, if this bus device will be the last device on this bus branch. Otherwise, set it. 10.When you have also connected the other bus devices, finalize the Net Bridge configuration once (see Finalizing the Bus Device Configuration on Net Bridge on page 18) and continue this procedure. 11.On iloq S10 Manager software, check that the orange background color for the lock has disappeared from the lock grid view. Remember to refresh the grid view by pressing F5.

17 1 S10 Online System Controlling an Electric Lock by a Combination of a Key and a PIN-code This section describes how to connect an electric lock, magnet lock or electric strike plate, and so on, to be controlled by a combination of a key and a PIN-code. In this connection, you use a Key Reader and a keypad (RFID reader equipped with a keypad). In this scenario, you program the Door Module as a Key Switch, which has its own access rights. For this, you have to connect the power supply and a Key Reader to the Door Module, during the first programming. Proceed as follows. 1. Ensure that the Net Bridge switch is on STANDBY. 2. Add, format and program the Door Module to the lock list as a Key Switch. Select the type of lock cylinder as N102. Select the type of lock as Networked. 3. Connect Door Module to a prepared Net Bridge, or continue the bus from the last connected bus device, according to the connection diagram in iloq S10 Online System - Planning Guidelines. Note: If you continue the bus from another bus device, remember to disable the termination (TERMINATI = ) from the device from which you continue the bus. 4. Connect the Key Reader to the Door Module READER RS-485 bus according to the connection diagram. Ensure that the TERMINATI dip switch on the Key Reader is. 5. Connect the RFID reader (with a keypad) to the Key Reader RS-485 OUT connector according to the connection diagram. 6. For this, you have to connect the power supply and a Key Reader to the Door Module, during the first programming. Proceed as follows. 1. Ensure that the Net Bridge switch is on STANDBY. 2. Add, format and program the Door Module to the lock list as a Key Switch. Select the type of lock cylinder as N102. Select the type of lock as Networked. 3. Connect Door Module to a prepared Net Bridge, or continue the bus from the last connected bus device, according to the connection diagram in iloq S10 Online System - Planning Guidelines. Note: If you continue the bus from another bus device, remember to disable the termination (TERMINATI = ) from the device from which you continue the bus. 4. Connect the RFID Reader equipped with a keypad, to the Door Module READER RS-485 bus according to the connection diagram. 5. 19 1 S10 Online System 19 Make sure that you have: Connected all bus devices. Prepared the Net Bridge. See Preparing Net Bridge on page 11. Proceed as follows. 1. Switch the Net Bridge MODE switch to SETUP. 2. Ensure that the Net Bridge switch is. 3. Wait for three seconds. 4. Switch the Net Bridge MODE switch to OPERATING. 5. An internal test procedure is started. Observe the green FUNC led for approximately one minute until the Net Bridge has saved the bus configuration. Check that: 1. The green FUNC led blinks as many times as there are devices on the main bus. 2. After a pause, the green FUNC led blinks as many times as there are devices on the reader buses. 3. After a pause, the green FUNC led blinks as many times as there are lock cylinders connected on Door Modules. Saving the bus configuration ends when the FUNC led is constantly illuminated green. The procedure ends when constant green FUNC, RS-485 STATUS, SYSTEM STATUS, and SERVER CN. leds are illuminated. 6. Check that the Door Module POWER, DEVICE, BRIDGE and SERVER leds are illuminated green in all door modules. Check also that the topmost led is illuminated green on all Programming Hot-spots. 7. Deployment may require additional configuration on S10 Manager according to the Quick Guides Operation Modes This chapter describes the behaviour of the Door Module in its specific operation modes, complementing the connection options presented in Quick Guides, and describing other connection options in full detail. You can set the operation mode with the Door Module OPTIS dip switches S1-S4. The main principles of using OPTIS dip switches are: If S1 is enabled, the relay output K1 is calendar-controllable, otherwise not.
