2 What is the b-red 2 wire system? The b-red is an entry level intercom system, It makes use of digital technology and as such communication is on a polarised 2 wire set-up. The 2 wires will facilitate intercom and gate release function. This system allows one to create an audio entry system with up to 2 calls. The entry panel can be configured to allow 1 or 2 entry buttons by means of a jumper setting. The system can be expanded up to 4 handsets Intercom Installation The b-red

3 The audio entry control kit includes a handset with two buttons, one to open the door and the other for an additional command. The power supply unit is equipped with a rectifier that provides continuous voltage of 18 V - 9 VA (500mA) and is thermally and electronically protected against overloads and short circuits. The entry panel is a surface mount unit with a single call button able to serve one or two residences, depending on the system configuration. The call button is back-lit with a green LED light. 6 Pre selected groups The kit is set up for intercommunication between internal extensions, either all together or in two groups as in a semi-detached house or apartments, with secrecy of speech without requiring additional wiring or accessories. As the handset has only one button to call the group, a handset can only call the group that it has been assigned to by means of the jumpers. Intercom Installation The b-red

9 The power supplier has electronic protection of the transformer and power supplier against overloads and short-circuits. To reset to normal operating mode in case of interruption the following instructions must be followed: a. Disconnect 230V b. Correct the reason for the power supply shut down c. Let the power supply cool down for at least one minute d. Reconnect to 230V Intercom Installation The b-red

10 Function and configuration of the jumpers JP1 Call volume control. Default (on) position is for normal audio level. JP3 JP2 JP1 If 2 or more handsets is on the same call a master and slave set-up is needed. The handset with the set JP1 will receive the ring and then this handset will forward the ring command to the other handsets with their removed JP1.
