Ensure power is isolated from the equipment before removing covers or disconnecting terminals. Optional Interface Expansion Cards Optional expansion cards may be fitted, providing either analogue voltage or current signals, CAN Bus, Ethernet TCP/IP, Ethernet IP, EtherCAT, Profinet, Profibus, RS232 and USB communication for process control. Disconnect power to process equipment before making changes to Interface cards, analogue signal wiring, programming, or output relay set points. 3 M260D V0.1 E L M260 Load Cell Amplifiers The M260D uses removable detachable screw terminal connectors. Connect to terminals on the front of the M260D. To access terminals on the M260S undo the 4 screws in each corner. A Littelfuse is fitted or equivalent. Up to 8 AW190 Intelligent load cell junction boxes can be connected to the CAN BUS. Each weigh controller can be set up to monitor any of the M190 IT Junction boxes connected, in any combination, and report back individual load cell faults or errors. No loss of accuracy from cable noise or resistance. Page 4

5 M260 Load Cell Amplifiers Operation of the set points is indicated M260 Display This indicates that the load has settled within the set motion band If the load is less than 1.9% of the maximum span; this symbol shows the display may be set to zero. To eliminate static system load, (tanks, containers, or pallet trucks etc,) press Tare. The display will show NET weight. Toggle between NET and GROSS weight displays. It is possible to inspect and adjust the set point values from the weighing display. Select the required set point. Adjust the value. See Output Setup. 8 M260 Load Cell Amplifiers Display Graduations Decimal Point Divisions Graduations Graduations Number of increments dividing the full display range. Display range is Graduations x size of Divisions. Decimal Point Sets the Decimal position. Also affects the scale of Divisions, and the full display range. Divisions Divisions sets the size of the increments. Scale is related to decimal point. 1, 2, 5,10, 20, 50 or decimals thereof. Motion Band Motion Time Weight range and the period after which the load is deemed to be settled. Weight steps; 1, 2, 5,10, 20, 50 or decimals thereof. Units Select Kg, g, t, lb Sample Rate Display and edit the sample rate. 9 M260 Load Cell Amplifiers Display Zero Span Zero Count The scale here is related to decimal point. Zero Calibrating... Zero Cal 0kg Zero Remove any weight from the scale. Wait for the system to settle. Press Cal. After a delay the display will return to the menu at Span. Span Span The weight should be as close to maximum capacity as possible. Enter the calibration weight into the display. Place the weight on the system. Allow the system to settle. Press Cal. After a delay the display will return to the. Span Calibrating... Span Cal kg Zero Count Span Count Displays the A/D counts, at calibrated zero, and calibrated span. We recommend leaving these as set. Note the values for future reference. 10 TARGET 260S LOAD CELL AMPLIFIER M260 Load Cell Amplifiers Input Setup Input Setup Input 1 Input 2 OFF OFF Two inputs may be configured to Tare or Zero the display, switch between Net / Gross, or Print. Both accept +high external TTL signals. An onboard isolated 24V 100mA output is also available to loop back through external volt free signal contacts. Set Point 1 Type Input Setup Output Setup Default is Higher. Select Off, Lower or Healthy. Healthy output is on unless there is a fault. Set Point 1 Weight at which the relay will switch. Value dependent on the decimal setting. Set Points must be within the span range. SP1 Hyst. Hysteresis; The weight must change by this value to reset the switch. Alarms can only be cleared by access to the unit. All keys will function in Set up mode. Setup is repeated for all 4 keys. Remote display Two M260s may be connected together via CAN BUS with one as a slave. Select Remote Display Yes on the slave unit. The unit will reboot. Tare / Gross / Zero on Slave will be relayed to Master unit. Use Keypad Access to disable keys on slave unit if required. Both master and slave unit must be set to the same CAN BUS input channels. See CAN BUS settings on optional Analogue Card.
