2 Thank you for purchasing the NEITZ Power Supply Unit PSU-3. This unit has been designed for the use with NEITZ Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscope IO- series. Two types of model, Table-top or Wall Mounting can be chosen. Original stand is also available. Before use, please read this instruction manual to your safety, and keep it handy for future reference. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS This instruction manual uses a variety of common symbols and icons to assist you in proper handling and usage of this product, and to warn you of potential hazards to yourself and others. These symbols and icons and their significance are described below. WARNING Improper handling may cause death or serious injury. CAUTION Improper handling may cause damage or physical loss. The CE mark indicates that this product complies with the European requirements for safety, health, environment and customer protection. CE-mark products are for sale in WARNING Do not use except the designated instrument or the instrument not manufactured by NEITZ, as this may result in a damage and a fire ignition. Do not apply a strong impact and do not hurl it. It may cause a damage and an injury. Do not place it in an unstable nor sloped place, as this may result in a rollover, a malfunction and a damage. Do not use in extremely humid nor salty place, nor where the water hangs. It may cause an electric shock. Do not use it near the chemicals, the sulfur or a gas produced places. Do not use near the heat source. Never attempt to disassemble or modify it, as this may result in an electrical shock, fire ignition or an injury. CAUTION When cleaning it, do not use volatile solvents such as the thinner, polishing powder, boiling water. It causes deformation and a damage. Never attempt to touch and transform the terminal for charge, it may cause an injury and a damage. 2

4 Do not sterilize. It may cause a transformation and other troubles. Before use, please check the cords damage and abnormality, as this may result in a trouble. TABLE - TOP MODEL PSU-3T Put it in the appropriate place before use WALL MOUNTING MODEL PSU-3K 1. Please fix the Transformer Mount Plate (11)to the back side of the Transformer PSU-3K main body using the Screws (12) 2. Wall Mounting Plate (13) should be fitted with the Tapping Screws (14) 3. Please hang the transformer on a wall and fix with the Installation Screw (15). 4. Finally insert the Hanger C (16) to the Hanger Installation Hole (10) of the Transformer STAND PSU-S (OPTION) Please attach a Wall mounting plate (13) to the PSU-S stand with three Tapping screws (14). Then please hang the transformer on a stand and fix with the Installation Screw (15). 5

7 5. OPERATION METHOD 5.1. TABLE-TOP MODEL PSU-3T 1. Insert Power supply plug into an outlet and DC plug of the AC adapter into the DC Jack (5) of PSU-3T. 2. Insert Lamp House Plug of the IO series into the Receptacle (6) until stop. 3. Push the Power Supply Switch button from OFF ( mark) to ON ( mark) after turning the Brightness Adjustment Knob (4) left to minimizing the brightness. The Pilot Lamp (3) turns on, and the device is ready. 4. Adjust the brightness turning the Brightness Adjustment Knob (4) clockwise. 5. Switch off ( mark) after use. The Pilot Lamp (3) turns off and the device is off WALL MOUNTING MODEL PSU-3K Before operating, please set it up as mentioned in Clause 4.2 and Clause 4.3. Operation method is same as Table-top Model (See 1~5 in Clause 5.1). In the case of Hanger use: The power switch of connected IO series turned off when hanging it on the Hanger and the Illumination turns off too. When you take it off from the Hanger, Power switch and the Illumination turn on. Switching ON and OFF by the Hanger is a temporary function. When you do not use it for a long time please turn off by Power Supply Switch. 6

8 5. MAINTENANCE 5.1. Cleaning Wipe with dry soft cloth or with cloth slightly moistened with much diluted natural detergent. After that wipe with dry cloth again. Maintain the charge apertures are empty. Wipe the terminal parts with cotton swabs Storage Avoid a high temperature and humid place. Please store in an area out of direct sunlight. Operating temperature: Range from 10 C to 40 C (50 F to 104 F) Storage temperature: Range from -20 C to 60 C (-4 F to 140 F) 5.3. Safekeeping and Transportation Keep it not be loaded and impacted Disposal Dispose it according to local garbage rules or please return to the distributor. 6. TROUBLESHOOTING Please check the following contents when not working normally. Problem Possible Causes Solution Pilot Lamp is not turned on The IO series unit will not turn on Power Supply Plug is not connected to the electrical outlet. The AC adapter is not connected to Power supply Plug. The DC Plug of AC Adapter is not inserted in the DC Jack of PSU-3. Power Supply Switch is not turned on. At the time of the Hanger use An alien substance is inside in the Hanger Installation Hole. The Lamp House Plug is not connected in Receptacle Please connect the Plug. Please connect. Please insert. Push the Power Supply Switch button from ( mark) to ( mark) Please take the substance out. Check the movement of the Hanger. Please insert the Plug until stop. If your problem is not solved, please stop to use and contact your dealer immediately. Contact information is available in the end. 7
