It is used in conjunction with fire protection applications. he jumper must be removed for: a) fire protection applications if an extra smoke alarm is connected to the ZN0-4 unit (see pp. /6) b) all applications that are unconnected with fire protection. ) isolating relay As soon as an MF tool is connected to the socket the relay isolates communication from the network. It prevents any possibility of data collision. ) Jumper S his jumper is fitted at the factory. It is removed if two actuators are connected to the ZN0-4 (see application examples below). Attention: Before removing jumper S disconnect the 0 VAC power cable. Application Suitable for use in -wire -Bus networks. he MF() actuators are powered locally with an supply from the ZN0-4 unit. his allows long -Bus conductors to be used. he ZN0-4 unit is essential if fire damper actuators are connected via an -Bus network. Sensors can also be connected to the MF() actuators via the ZN0-4 unit. MF parameter assignment devices (PC- MF-P or Manual Device MF- H) can be connected to the MF() actuator via the ZN0-4 unit. As soon as such a device is plugged into the connecting socket, communication with the network is interrupted. 5 Example : Fire / Smoke, Fire alarm via digital input DI Fire damper actuators are connected via the ZN0-4 unit and the -Bus system to a DDC controller with an interface. he signal from the fire alarm control contact is fed into the DDC controller through a digital input. In the example, fire damper is also equipped with an external smoke detector. Note: When necessary, external smoke detectors can be connected to the fire damper actuators by means of a floating NC contact. However, passive sensors, active sensors and floating switching contacts cannot be connected. Recommended application concept If the emergency close command is given over the -Bus system the status of the fire damper can also be interrogated over the -Bus after the emergency closure has taken place (with example on page 6 this is not possible). 6 Example : Fire / Smoke, Fire alarm via mains failure Fire damper actuators are connected via the ZN0-4 unit and the -Bus system to a DDC controller with an interface. he fire alarm control contact effects direct interruption of the local power supply from the ZN0-4 unit. In the example, fire damper is also equipped with an external smoke detector. Note: When necessary, external smoke detectors can be connected to the fire damper actuators by means of a floating NC contact. However, passive sensors, active sensors and floating switching contacts cannot be connected. Limitations to the recommended application concept Emergency closure is initiated by interrupting the power supply. Communication with the actuator is then no longer possible. An active sensor (0-0 V output) is connected to the xx4-mf() with address via the ZN0-4 unit. Active sensors can be connected to MF and MF actuators. wo MF-/MF actuators, and are connected to the same ZN0-4 unit.
