3 RF Transmitter Module Introduction:- RF Transmitter/Receiver module is based on HT12E/HT12D Encoder/Decoder IC. This Transmitter PCB can support both 8pin & 3pin RF Modules and 315/433MHz Modules. 8-way DIP switch is used to select 8-bit binary address. (The address of both RX-TX should be same for valid communication). Receiver Module takes 4-bit binary data from pin 1~4 of 10P Box Header which is then passed to HT12E encoder IC. IC reads its 8-bit binary Address and 4-bit binary DATA status. This info is then encoded and transmitted into air using RF Module. Only those RF Receivers will accept this info which has the matching address code. Receivers with different address code will reject (not accept) this data. Page 3

Hardware Description: 8 pin DIP switches 4 Pin berg stick connector 3 Pin berg stick connector HT12E Encoder IC Box Header RF Module connector: The 8-pin and 3-pin bergstick connector is provided for connecting RF module. Either 433 MHz module or 315 MHz module can be used. While using 433MHz module it is connected to 8-pin berg stick connector whereas 315 MHz module can be connected to 3-pin connector. Page 4

5 Box Header: Box header is used to give 4-bit data required to be transmitted from controller. Its pin configuration is shown below: HT12E Encoder IC : The IC has 12 Address pin, out of which last 4-bits of address are data multiplexed i.e. from AD8 to AD11. The address bits from A0 to A7 are connected to DIP Switches. The TE bit (Transmit Enable) is grounded to enable transmission. The 4-bit send by the controller is converted into serial data format by this encoder IC and is available at its pin no. 17.These serial data bits are then ready for transmission; and hence applied to the RF module. 6 8-bit DIP switches: The status of each address/data pin can be individually pre-set to logic high or low using these DIP switches. If a transmission-enable signal is applied, the encoder scans and transmits the status of the 12 bits of address/data serially in the order A0 to AD11 for the HT12E encoder and A0 to D11 for the HT12A encoder. During information transmission these bits are transmitted with a preceding synchronization bit. Note:- The address setting for both RX/TX boards should exactly be same. Otherwise Receiver will reject the data. Multiple active Transmitters in same area will cause interference. Page 6
