2 Purpose To provide an update on the Government of Canada s Information Technology Transformation Plan 2

3 Strategic Vision: A Connected, Digital Public Service Shared Services Canada was established in August 2011 to modernize management of the Government of Canada s (GC) Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. To deliver on this mandate, SSC is adopting an integrated, whole-ofgovernment approach in alignment with the Government of Canada IT Strategic Plan 2020, with a focus on building a consolidated, standardized IT infrastructure that can serve as the foundation for the connected, digital and mobile public service envisioned in Blueprint Specifically, SSC is working to establish an IT infrastructure that will: enable the delivery of agile, innovative IT services that are business-driven and focused on enhancing the end-user experience; enhance program and service delivery to Canadians; strengthen the Government s security posture and support the trusted delivery of Government of Canada programs and services; deliver value for the Crown, with regular and predictable IT expenditures Government of Canada-wide; Continued 3

7 IT Transformation Plan Progress (as of March 31, 2016) Transformation Initiative Over 52,324 mailboxes migrated to enterprise system. Migrations have been completed for 12 partners (SSC and Minister s Office, Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Canada Economic Development for Quebec regions, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Canadian Space Agency, Finance Canada, Infrastructure Canada, Library and Archives Canada, Canada Heritage, Public Safety Canada, Statistics Canada and Western Diversification Canada). Data Centre Consolidation 62 legacy data centres closed, three enterprise data centres (EDC) [Gatineau, Borden and Barrie] now open and fully operational. 304 applications migrated to EDC Gatineau; 4,023 physical servers decommissioned. Expansion of EDC Borden through a public-private partnership contract currently underway (expected spring 2016). Contracting for the High Performance Computing platform currently underway (expected 2016). Telecommunications Transformation Program 97,718 phones deployed with Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology. 25,631 unused telephone lines eliminated. Wi-Fi access provided to approximately 30,700 public service employees. All 43 partner departments now transitioned to the enterprise videoconference system. 7

8 IT Infrastructure Plan Progress (continued) Cyber and IT Security Cyber and IT Security Transformation Plan and Business Case for support services drafted and on target for consultation by April 30, Established a Cyber Intelligence Analytics and Reporting service within the Security Operations Centre (SOC). Completed SOC Construction Phase II. Completed Secure Phone for Classified proof of service and engaged partners for next steps. Workplace Technology Devices Software: Remaining Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) procurement vehicles (and related contracts) have been transferred to SSC as of September Software Procurement Project (SLSA replacement and re-competing high-volume software categories) is underway; will conclude in months. Hardware (Workplace Technology Devices): The PSPC National Master Standing Offer (NMSO) hardware and print procurement vehicles have been transferred to SSC as of September 1, Hardware Procurement Project (NMSO replacement) underway, will conclude in months. Service Management Established the Service Management Transformation Program and Branch. Enhanced and formalized a service authorization process and governance structure to enhance Service Lifecycle Management. Established monthly Operational Performance Reviews in November 2015 to monitor performance against service levels. Launched the procurement process for a new, more sophisticated IT Service Management Tool Released re-structured Service Catalogue and updated content, including financial information, for priority services. 8
