2 Transportation and Infrastructure According to the most recent data from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), state and local governments spent $320 billion on transportation and water infrastructure in This covers over 4 million miles of public roads, 138,000 miles of freight railroad, 25,000 miles of waterway, 607,013 bridges and 110 ports of entry.

13 Transportation Cybersecurity Concerns The rise of connected vehicles, commuter apps and public transit integration have raised concerns about cybersecurity for intelligent infrastructure and smart transportation. Unsecured sensors and monitors, commuter apps and CAVs create multiple access points open to cyberattacks. Transit systems become more vulnerable with integrated technologies and have already been targeted. 14 Conclusions **Security concerns will continue to influence all things Smart is changing the way we think about public services. Governments will need to build robust platforms and networks to keep pace with these changes especially for CAV s Mobile is becoming the service delivery platform of choice New technology options are challenging traditional thinking about legacy modernization Economic conditions vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction
